Everything was picture perfect...the last day of the dry weather and sunshine before the weather turned. It was literally the best day...when our place was the most beautiful it had ever been. Harrison arrived late without any kind of apology, even though we had been waiting outside for an hour. Then he argues with us when we tell him our realtor wants a shot of our gate closed, since it is the entry to our estate and quite beautiful in its own right. But that isn't even the worst of it! 10 days later, we learn he had technical difficulties and left our property without ever telling us!!! He knew we were in the house and could have come and knocked on the door to tell us! If we had known he didn't or couldn't get a single picture, we could have scrambled to hire someone else or at the very least, taken our own pictures! Now the opportunity to get them with the beautiful fall leaves is completely gone and we will never, ever get it back. He took that away from us without even having the courtesy to tell us and let us try to figure out a plan B. He basically cost us thousands of dollars in lost revenue. So if you are depending on photos to sell your home and have worked hard to get it to picture quality, please find someone else to get the shots or you may be just as mad and as disappointed as we are right now.

Katy met with us in person for lunch and you could tell that her passion is capturing these intimate and meaningful moments. As we explained our ideas for our nontraditional wedding - which was 3 parts long spread out over an entire day - she was not only up for it, but had great suggestions on how we could fine tune our ideas. Come the day of the wedding, she was understanding that the poor weather would delay the start of the ceremony. She was the first to arrive at our destination, and helped orient the guests and was great at introducing herself and providing tidbits of bird-nerd information as we walked the trails of Smith Rock National Park for 45 minutes. This was great for our guests who had never been to Smith Rock before. She took great photos (both directed and spontaneous). Our experience with her at the park, then at Brasada Ranch, and finally at dinner in Bend was that she had a lot of energy to keep up with the hectic nature of a packed schedule, but also took the time to direct us to slow down for special moments and get us to be our natural selves. She was even able to get great photos of my parents - who are extremely shy and avoidant of cameras! We hope that this review is helpful, and understand that choosing a wedding photographer is a very important step in the process. We felt at ease with Katy, that we could trust her with our special day. Incredible effort, and it shows in every clip!…read more Our photographer referred us to Chris (Last Light Pictures) and after reviewing his past footage, we were eager to work with him. Chris was calm and unobtrusive the entire day. We honestly didn't notice he was there, which let us stay fully present throughout our wedding. It wasn't until we watched the raw footage that we realized how much he'd captured, including moments that showed us just how present we were with each other that day. I don't think either of us fully appreciated his effort until we went through everything. Watching the ceremony angles, you can see him running to every corner possible to get his shots (which gave us a good laugh). Whenever there was a spare minute, he was grabbing more footage, from decor details to candid moments. As a very particular person, there was nothing that I really wanted to fix. The video clearly tells a story and genuinely captures who my wife and I are. The only edits we requested were swapping a few clips of guests for other footage of family members closer to us. Even then, Chris was a day away from deleting the project file, in the middle of a busy season, and still did all swaps the same night. I'll note to make the swaps easy, we had to be very specific about which exact clips and timeframes we wanted swapped (the requested clips were only 1-2 seconds long each). Our family and friends loved the video. One cousin, whose wedding was a few weeks after ours, told us she regretted not hiring a videographer after seeing it. My only regret is not booking Chris earlier for our cultural wedding too. Highly recommend Last Light Pictures!

The BEST decision we made for our wedding!…read more Chris from Last Light Pictures filmed our June 2026 wedding at Mountain Terrace in Woodside, and he was hands down my favorite vendor! After seeing his work, we knew we wanted him specifically to capture our day. From our very first conversation, he was so generous with his time and expertise. He hopped on a call with us the same evening we asked and walked us through all our questions with so many helpful tips. He was also incredibly honest. Instead of upselling us, he recommended a package that better fit what we actually wanted: the Bronze Package with a Condensed Highlight Reel add-on. It included one cameraman with two HD cameras, up to eight hours of coverage, and all of our raw footage on a hard drive. When we asked if he'd personally film our wedding, he was upfront that he couldn't guarantee it so far out, but he kept our request in mind and confirmed he'd be there. It meant so much to us! On the day, he captured every moment without ever getting in the way or clashing with our photographer. During our private first look, I forgot he was even there and could be fully present with my husband. I'm a very particular, detail-oriented bride, and I sent Chris a long email weighing every song option for our video, from the lyrics to the overall vibe. He took it all seriously, gave us his honest take, and even sent sample clips so we could hear how each would feel with our footage. He recommended "Somebody Like You" by Keith Urban, and he was right! It left room to weave in our vows, which is my favorite part of the whole video. Chris didn't just string clips together. He crafted a real story with so much feeling, and you can feel the vibes and the love in every moment. Bonus: he even made our awkward photo poses look good! It was delivered on time, and he kept us updated the whole way. Our contract billed changes by the hour, and he only keeps project files for a short time, but when we asked to swap in a few clips of family, he made the edits the same night at no extra cost.
