I stopped in to buy Pokemon cards for my nephew and me to open together. They don't carry very much sealed Pokemon products and most of what they have is listed at market price. I don't know if they regularly get items at msrp. This shop has a pretty large and diverse selection of single cards as well and I ended up picking up some from the display case as well as a few from the $1 box. This place didn't make us feel weird or awkward. They're very kind and are happy to help you with questions about the game or cards you're looking for. I was highly impressed with the variety of boosters they had, and their case had some incredible singles (sadly I'll never afford most). The only thing I missed is being able to comb through singles myself. Here they have them in the back and you need to know ahead of time what you're looking for. If not, when they open there will be a line not of people wanting to sell stuff just people wanting to get in there to check out anything new that came in the night before. Parts of the store that used to be full of books now have FUNKO figures and kids toys, as well as Bible calendars. They also have a section for anime and board games, so the nerd factor is still there, though not on the level of independent shops. They have a coffee shop and a lot of history/biography/study guide/fiction books. The spots reserved for sitting and reading are gone. It is past its prime, but in the time of Amazon, and outside of big cities, what place isn't?

The store itself brings back memories of the video/game stores of the 90's/2000's, so it was a trip down memory lane, especially with the old school TV's, posters and games of the past. PCC is a great atmosphere, and the employees really care- they hire young staff that actually collect cards and have a wide knowledge of them. While I'm not a frequent passerby any longer (due to the skyrocketing MSRP of packs), every time I've been in recently was a pleasant experience. The store is always clean and I've never seen the employees unhappy. A welcoming environment for kids and adults alike- whether you want to buy packs, slabs, boxes, or get a card graded, the staff will have you sorted.
