My friend and I researched tattoo shops and came across Victory Tattoo. After looking at the artists' portfolios and high Yelp ratings, we chose to have Kip do our ink. If you look at the picture, you can see where he blew out the lines in several places. I sat like a rock as I know how important it is and expected such a simple tattoo to come out clean. Not at all what I got! To add insult to injury it cost $200 for 20 minutes of work. Ridiculous! Now I'm stuck with a permanent embarrassment on my ankle. Thanks for nothing! read more

I wish I remember the name of the artist who did my finger tattoo! Finger tats are tricky and usually require a lot of touching up but it's been almost 2 years with my finger tat and it still looks soooooo good. read more

I've been going to Victory for over 10 years now. Needless to say, I love it there. I had a piece done by Kip when he owned the place and it came out great! I've had most of my work done by Derek Parsons and love everyone he's done. Always cool and patient with me as a customer and in the end he always hooks it up with what I was looking for. For the past year Derek has bought the shop from Kip and just when you thought this place couldn't get any cooler... It did. They throw BBQs for customers and the occasional aloha Fridays. It's that laid back atmosphere that you want to get work done at. They care about each customer and the shop is the cleanest in town. Something to be said about people that put the extra effort in. Victory is just that. Thanks for all the great work you guys do and looking forward to my next. Also check out the new artists that Derek has brought in. 2 Buck Chuck has put out some excellent pieces and the new wonder kin Kipper is killing it! read more

So my septum piercing has healed up really well, with no infection. Kristens aftercare instructions were clear and I'm so pleased with my piercing. Already planning on more with her. Also thinking of bringing my little sister to get pierced. read more

I have supported Victory Tattoo since they first opened. The original owner, Kip, selected a solid crew of guys and the business flourished from day one. Now that the torch has been passed to Derek, they have really taken it to the next level! Victory Tattoo not only has the most talented tattoo artists in the area, but they have the best tattoo flash and reference library I've ever seen. Derek and the guys at the shop truly care about the city of Chico and the citizens who are lucky enough to live there. If you plan it right, you can get some ink work done, then enjoy an amazing barbecue in the rear parking lot of the shop, provided by the Portuguese barbecue master himself, Derek Parsons! If you want an amazing tattoo, look no further. Pay the guys a visit and you will see what all the hype is about! read more

After careful searching tattoo shops and the tattoo artist, we chose Derek at Victory Tattoo. My mom and I messaged him a year ago to schedule an appointment. Derek was nice and keeps equipment and space sanitized. He did a good job on our mother daughter tattoos. I plan to go to Derek for my next tattoo read more

Victory Tattoo - It's the word "Love" in my moms handwriting. It's so special to me. - Tattoo Near Me - Chico, California

Not very satisfied with the conduct of this business. Called Sunday afternoon asking if they were busy and if they could do a simple tattoo of a few words in black and white block lettering. They told me they weren't busy and to come on down. I drove all the way down from Magalia just to arrive at the shop closed. I called at about 4:15 and arrived at about five o'clock. The business hours are listed as closing at six. They didn't even have the common courtesy to call me to let me know they were closing even though they directly told me to come down. Not happy with wasting my time and gas. Do yourself a favor and go to a shop that actually conducts themselves professionally, because this one isn't it. read more

When I moved to the area about five years ago a local Chicoan told me that Victory was the place to go for quality work. I have been a loyal customer ever since and wouldn't go anywhere else in the area for my tattoos or piercings. I get comments of interest and admiration for my pieces constantly. I have had both large and small work done at this shop and have never felt that either was more important to the artist than another. The artists are just that, capable and very creative. Shop is always clean, staff is knowledgeable about content and application of ideas on the medium of skin, friendly, and always willing to discuss my latest project ideas. I heart Victory Tattoo! read more

I went to this location a while back with the intent of getting a half sleeve done. I told them I had little time as I was on leave (recently discharged out of the army) and only had a few days here. I was referred to a man by the name of chuck, and to be quite blunt, he sucked. Maybe what I asked for was out of his capabilities, but this should've been said prior to him accepting me as a client. I was also told by Chuck that he would draw something up and have it for me the next day but when I returned the next day, all he had was a pencil outline of two faces...I should've seen this as a red flag but decided to trust the guy and the owner because they seemed legit. Admittedly, I should've done research for an artist who specializes in the style I was looking for, but I was pressed for time and wanted to get a tattoo...I should've waited and gone to an actual artist. Also, As I said above: I WAS in the Army...unfortunately, I had disclosed this information...which probably led to them seeing me as someone with a lot of money. I was initially told by Chuck that the tattoo I had requested would be $900...on top of a $100 deposit...about halfway through he said changed the price to $1000...forcing me to pay $1100 on a damn OUTLINE of two saints that you can't make out because the "grey" he used is so light and the lines all fade into each other. This all happened back in early 2013 and I have taken great consideration into writing a review but honestly, these guys should go out of business. As a former service member, for them to see that and WILLINGLY take advantage of me is complete BS. BE WARNED!!! The OWNER is a liar and condones this type of behavior. I do not recommend ANYONE go here. Granted some of the tattoos I've seen on their page are legit, but I would tread with caution. read more

Gotta luv Victory Tattoo!!! I would defiantly recommend this place. First off, it's super clean, really friendly & a cool atmosphere...Kip is the best! I would defiantly come back & would recommend this place to everyone! read more

Victory is one of the nicest tattoo and piercing places in Chico hands down. The people are nice and respectful but also quite honest and down to earth. Amber (I think!) is the piercer there and was really awesome and realistic about how painful certain piercings would be and respected any potential modesty concerns I may have had. (Not that I personally had any- but she was willing to accommodate me) I'm really sensitive to a lot of different metals too and jewelry from victory doesn't affect my skin adversely at all. Also, I'm not trying to flame a previous review but I saw it and have to disagree with the Japanese dragon concept. Kip did my Japanese style dragon contained in a large back piece and he did a phenomenal job. He has also done a lot of work for some good friends of mine and it all looks great. Kip is an artist as all tattooist should really be. If you absolutely refuse to let your tattooer have some artistic leave then maybe you should try doing a tattoo yourself. I trust his concepts on color and by telling him to have a fairly free leave of the color scheme on my back it came out amazing, I get compliments and asked who the artist is all the time. Victory is a little bit more pricey but Kip works quickly, efficiently (I.E only minimal touch ups needed later to fix holes) and in the end its a permanent addition to your body and if you're not taking it seriously enough to drop some extra cash into it; don't get it. read more

My daughter and I wanted matching tattoos. I live in Castro Valley and she lives in Chico. She heard Victory Tattoo is good, so we tried it. Derek the owner is very professional and talented and very sweet! He did an EXCELLENT job! Had a great conversation about Lyle Tuttle. We will definitely be going back for more tattoos. Great place, great people. Thx Derek read more

I went to Victory Tattoo for Friday the 13th. They were the only place in Chico that had a promotion going because everyone had participated in the promotion the month before. Initially, I was disappointed because it was $25 instead of the usual $13, plus $7 tip. I walked in and started speaking to Derek. He was very friendly, professional, and kept the conversation going the entire time. I waited for my tattoo to heal before leaving a review to make sure everything went smoothly. It's been healed for a while now, but I've just been too lazy to leave a review. The tattoo was well worth my $25, I love it! Would definitely recommend Derek and Victory Tattoo. read more
