I have no idea how this shop earns a high rating. He's a nice person, but he's ham-fisted and has…read morea child running around the shop all night while he works. The end result is a rushed tattoo by a completely distracted single dad who overworks the heck out of the tattoo area. It took months for my skin to heal. The tattoo areas were so overworked that I have been battling a losing fight against tattoo granulomas. I have several tattoos and have never had an immune response before and now I'm looking at having to endure laser treatments and immunosuppressants until resolved/removed. I take responsibility too. There were several times I should have walked away, before and during my tattoos. I should wife walked away when I spent an hour entertaining his child. I should've walked away when he had to continuously interrupt our session to deal with his daughter. I should have stopped when I realized that the tattoo was looking to be completed in less than half the anticipated time. I should have stopped and walked away when I saw the texture of my skin began to change mid-tattoo and literally constrict and tighten right before my eyes. But then didn't, because I didn't know why... His daughter is adorable and he seems like a nice guy, but he is not putting the care and safety of clients first, either that or he's just really inexperienced. My tattoos are a disaster. They itch. They hurt. They bleed. It's been months and my road to recovery is barely beginning. And that's only one aspect. A behind the ear tattoo recover he did has left me with marked physical changes to the mastoid bone and it is undetermined still as to whether or not I will require invasive treatment to repair it. All my other tattoos from other artists remain fine. So my issues are not a systemic attack against the inks themselves or I would have issues with other tattoos as well. My issues are self-limiting to his work: Go elsewhere. Don't take the chance. It's just not worth the risks.

I had an insane idea for a tattoo, and Sierra killed it!!! Definitely a favorite among many, MANY, shops in the area. If your in town looking for good art, this is a good to. 10 out of 10 on cleanliness, professionalism and great atmosphere.

At first everything was normal and I had no doubt in my mind I'd be leaving with what I came for, but I started to have my doubts when the piercer didn't know what type of jewlery I had in, or how to take it out. I didn't know exactly either, so I couldn't help other than providing a guess. The piercer who was attending to me was still struggling and it was starting to hurt. She asked for help from the woman at the front desk and I knew as soon as that happened that I messssed up coming here, no legit tattoo/piercing studio should struggle for literally 30 minutes for a simple jewlery change! BTW- they were only really changing one nostril, the other side was super easy to put jewlery in because I was keeping it open with an earring back. so they inserted the new jewlery on one side and told me they just couldn't help me with the other side, and that because they already opened and cleaned both of the new studs I "had" to buy them. After we left my nose was SOREEE the rest of the day. When I got back from Chico I immediatley went to my hometowns piercing shop (where I should've waited to go to) and no joke, they fixed both of my piercings in 5 minutes. I'm not the type of person to leave a bad review but after hearing from my home piercer that the jewlery Black Cat Tattoo put in was EMBEDDING into my nostril and I now needed a longer bar for the piercing because of it's current irritation/swelling, I KNEWWW I had to say something! Mind you the total I ended up paying was $100... for ONE jewlery change and even though they couldn't put the second stud in (with two "professionals") This is COMPLETLEY my fault for trusting this studio, now I know and it won't ever happen again! SIDE NOTE THIS DONT REAALLLY MATTER BUT the vibe I got from the front desk woman when the first piercer called her for help, was WEIRD. She was throwing shade about where I originally got my nostrils pierced, just because she didn't know what kind of studs they were or how to remove them, I FOUND OUT LATER THAT WHOLE TIME THEY WERE PUSH PIN NOSE STUDS!!! THE EASIEST TO REMOVE AND WORK WITH at one point she honestly pissed me off when I heard her curse something like "wtf are these" maybe I'm just not with it like the rest of the tattoo/piercing culture but I wouldn't say that infront of a patron about a service I'm helping them with, Idk it just weirded me out!
