I love this shop! I've gotten 3 tattoos done by Tania (picture of the 3rd one pending). She is incredible! Her art is beautiful and her lines are so clean! Not only that, but she's super sweet and a great conversationalist! She's been a trooper dealing with my twitchiness since I keep asking her to tattoo some difficult spots (lol). You can give her an idea and she'll roll with it and make it even better than you imagined! I've recommended several of my friends and they come back raving to me too and thank me for the recommendation! I came prepared with books of flower drawings but Chris was confident and friendly and said he'd probably free hand them on which made me a little nervous but I told him that he was the artist and I trusted him. I'm so glad I did! I love the work Chris did and look forward to getting more work done by him. He was friendly, professional, and patient as we talked through the design and finished product. Monica truly rescued my terrible castle tattoo, I told her I wanted it to be a spooky castle..gave her some colors I wanted and let the rest be up to her to make her own. I wanted to be surprised, and she exceeded my expectations. It's everything I wanted and more. I am so in love with my new tattoo. This is not a review of the tattooing services here. I'm sure the artists here are very talented as I had booked an appointment with one after looking at their impressive portfolio. However, the one star review is for the absolute lack of knowledge about ADA laws. This shop refused me service because of my service dog. That breaks federal law. I wasn't going to make a scene so if they wanted to break the law, then so be it. They stated it's shop policy to not let animals in for sanitation reasons. My service dog did not need to be attached to my hip. She only needed to be in view of me. I have gotten many tattoos at other shops that understand ADA laws. My dog has sat on the floor, not interfering with tattoo work at all. However, they still refused me service. So, the artist refunded my deposit and I left to file an ADA complaint about disability discrimination. Because that is exactly what happened at this shop. I'm sure everyone here is very knowledgeable about tattooing about you might want to brush up on disability laws. It feels horrible to be turned away because of a disability. Because of something I can't control and something I need medical equipment for. read more

I wanted a new tattoo for my 20th bday so my boyfriend and I went on a chico wide search for the best artist for the tattoo I wanted. 12 volt was the last place we checked out and where we found Chris Stack. First of all the studio is super clean and all the supplies are very sanitary and new. You can tell they really care about the safety just as much as making sure you get a good tattoo. Everyone was super chill and helpful. Even though everyone was busy with other people when we came in to check out their portfolios like 3 people made sure we didn't have any questions and asked if we needed anything. Their portfolios were some of the nicest I have seen. A few of them were printed books full of really well done tattoos and the variety of the types of tattoos shown really helped to give me an idea of each artists style and capability. Chris was very helpful and patient as we tried to explain what I wanted (I'm not a very good artist so he had to deal with my bad sketches). After making an appointment and realizing their prices were way better than the other studios we had visited I was that much more pleased with my experience. The day of my appointment Chris showed us his sketch (which was exactly what I wanted) and went over what kind of details I might want. He gave great advice about what would look good and what doesn't usually work with tattoos, making sure I didn't do anything stupid. When we got started he was very precise about the placement of my tattoo, making sure it was dead center and getting both me and my boyfriends opinion on it. He made sure I was comfortable and ready, giving me even more advice on what to expect and how to handle it. He had a really steady hand but was still super quick with getting it done. It only took about 45 min and I am so happy about how it turned out. So far it's healing up very nicely and still looks amazing, I am super pleased with my experience here and will definitely be back for my next tattoo! Side notes: there is a non-refundable deposit that goes towards your tat when you make an appointment, there's a $5 service charge when you pay with a card, and they do free touch ups if your tattoo starts to fade while healing. read more

All of the artists are friendly and helpful, I love that they check in with each other and compliment each others work! I wanted to get a 3/4 sleeve done. I went into 12 Volt and talked with Tanner. He totally understood my ideas and knew exactly what I wanted. He quickly sketched out a design and with in no time at all he began my tattoo. After several sessions my traditional Japanese Koi tattoo is complete.
