It's not some big corporation with a customer service department or any department, for that matter. His prices are stellar, he has old and hard to find parts available and will work very hard to find the one you might need. Are you used to Fox Chapel or some other fancy-pants marina? Well, then Bill might not be your cup-o-tea. Are you a real Pittsburgher who enjoys a good chat and some blue collar service, then this is absolutely your spot! The pool is remarkable, they expanded it from a much smaller size, so now it's much better for swimming laps. They have 2 certified life guards and safety seems like a priority. The locker rooms and showers are substantial, and everything is clean and well maintained. The weight room has a nice assortment of machines and free weights, and there's virtually now wait time. They have an impressive program for seniors, they provide coffee during the morning and at noon there is a free cafeteria style meal The staff is friendly and helpful, they have enthusiastic smiles and are always welcoming people. It's a nice community environment and outreach. Parking on the North Side is usually tight, but they have a big parking lot that makes it easy. The location couldn't be better, it's convenient to my house, and restaurants, museums and parks. I like that the organization has continued to grow and evolve over the years. Although they honor their tradition, they have expanded their facility and role in the community.

My girl, Moogly who is pictured, loves this spot. I love that there are small wooded areas. The park is well maintained. I have seen someone emptying the trash bins on several occasions. And while I did see a few runners on their own, this park seems to be mostly a dog park. I encountered many friendly owners and enthusiastic dogs while exploring the trails. Some of the trails appeared to be marked but the park itself is not that big and the trails all ended up circling around each other so I had no problem wandering around. It's a very peaceful spot with several benches throughout. The sound of traffic at times can be disruptive though. The park is fenced in from Squaw Run Road and there is a parking lot just across the street. There is a sign that says parking is by permit only but I did not have a permit and could not find any information regarding this. (Maybe it's supposed to be for residents only?) I did also see parking along the road leading to the park but watch for signs because you cannot park on the road just next to the park. I don't know that I would necessarily go out of my way to get back here just for myself. But I would recommend this spot for anyone with a dog looking for a good park to let your canine friend roam around.

Wowzah! I'm visiting Pittsburgh for a few days and decided to stop in and let my 1 year old crawl…read morearound and get out some energy. First of all, parking here sucks! I parked in an illegal spot and hoped for the best (thankfully I did not get a ticket, hooray!) After getting inside, I realized I had to climb 428 steps up to the 2nd floor. I read some reviews beforehand and prepared by only carrying my kiddo and not my kiddo in the car seat or bringing a stroller. Do not, I repeat, do not bring a stroller or a car seat or anything other than your child. These steep ass stairs are no joke! Anyway, after we climbed a mountain of stairs, I was pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of open areas for kids of various ages to play. For $8, we had free reign of the entire place. Some of the things included a ball pit filled with balloons, a few bouncy castles, a huge slide, a room full of toys to ride on, a little kitchen, things to bounce in, 2 mini roller coasters, and a bunch of those coin operated machines that move without the need for coins. There were a ton of toys, music playing and a room to have lunch/cake in for birthday parties. In the main area there was also a little cafe with drinks and treats for kids and parents. The only part that I didn't love about it was how dirty this place felt. I mean I know you have kids running around all day, but for the crawlers, it was kind of gross seeing my kid's hands covered in hair dirt and dust, especially when shoes are not allowed in the place space. I think one of the issues was the flooring which very easily traps in dust and dirt. I don't think these floors have been cleaned in a very long time. Other than that, this place is a definite yes!

The place claims to be sanitary and clean, but there are spots and stains everywhere. To top it off, there's even a guests' dog running around. It's absolutely ridiculous. Some toys are dirty and some toys are broken or incomplete. Some of the barriers are held together by duct tap The worst part is that there are open plugs that are not child-proof. There's even visible exposed cables within reach. Came here since it was close to home, but never again.
