People told me it's a lot more accessible now, and only one bus ride away. The Genesis Bus Line offers daily trips to various locations, including Baguio, Baler, and La Union. They offer regular trips and special ones, the latter making no stopovers and bringing you straight to your destination. Don't worry, they have a bathroom on board the bus! For only P700, just a few hundreds more than the regular fare, you'll cut about 3-4 hours off your trip. When I took my Baguio trip, the bus reached the city in just about 4 hours. We left at around 2pm in Manila, and arrived just before 6:30pm, just in time for dinner. The bus is also very comfortable, with reclining chairs, wifi, blankets, and water and some crackers given to the passengers. There are only a few seats on board (I think about 24?), giving lots of space for each passenger. It's incredibly easy to book a ticket! I'm glad that Genesis makes Baguio so accessible now. I'm targeting Baler for my next out of town trip, and yup, using Genesis to get there! Oh, but just don't try giving them a call. It doesn't seem like anyone picks up their landline.

We arrived late so weren't able to ride a bus but thankfully there were DLTB Buses on stand by. It was going to stop in Buendia so we chose to ride that since it will take us to Manila plus a place in the Metro where we were very familiar with. The conductor asked us different questions so that he may give us instructions so we don't get lost. He made sure that we were going to get to where we had to be. He also told us where to get off so we don't go further. It was really nice of him to do so because not much people really care as long as there are passengers. At the same time, the ride was really fast and smooth. we had minor stops in Laguna but towards Manila we were well on our way. We fell asleep and as soon as we woke up, we were surprised to see that were in Makati already. It only took us about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there from Laguna. We also had a good sleep so it just goes to show it wasn't a bumpy ride. We were tired and it was good that we didn't feel hassled with the commute. It was a good trip back to Manila and a nice way to end our whole trip!

EXTREMELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more booked the DLTB Bus w Lazyboy seats and toilet for our roundtrip transpo from PITX to Bicol. The seats were a whopping 2300PHP per trip so +/- 5000PHP in total for the roundtrip. Seems fair right? NO. The trip going to Bicol was already bad. Smelled like smoke inside, bus had to stop several times to check engines etc. Ok fine. I can make my peace with that. LO AND BEHOLD the trip from Bicol was a nightmare. stopped for 2 hrs along the way since the engines were clearly failing already (since it was the same bus that we rode in the first time pala lol) SHIT HAPPENS - they had to transfer us to the DLTB regular bus for the rest of the trip (10hrs) while we paid a hefty amount for comfort and yet thats what happened. We expected a partial refund and guess what? They will only refund an amount of...... 140PHP for the inconvenience. The heck. Never again.

Victory Liner is one of the more reliable bus companies around. Traveling by bus has been a bit…read morescary because of news of the companies' negligence in making sure that their passengers are safe and secure, but I have never encountered anything on Victory Liner being a dubious and neglectful company, so that's always good. Though their buses are great and well-maintained, I have a lot to say about the state of their bus terminals. A friend and I had to catch our bus to Tabuk (Kalinga) from the Kamuning cor. East Avenue terminal along EDSA, and it was just jampacked with waiting passengers. There isn't enough seating and some of the areas near their concessionaires are cordoned off and are not for sitting if you are not buying anything from their store. The waiting area is not airconditioned, and is exposed to the smoke and the pollution from EDSA, making the long wait for our bus unpleasant. It wasn't even a holiday and there wasn't a mass exodus from Manila but the bus station was inexplicably packed to the rafters. The bathrooms are gross (how dare they charge a fee), and the entire place just needs a major facelift. I hope Victory Liner gives us a better waiting terminal. Their Pasay waiting terminal for north-bound buses is not even marginally better, if not worse. I still love Victory Liner, though. It is always so convenient to just hop on and go on a worry-free trip to Baguio, Pampanga, Tarlac, and most places in the North. I don't think they stop at La Union or Ilocos, though, and they should because their buses are nice, well air-conditioned and are in good shape, and the drivers are careful, though they get you there on time. I also appreciate the student discount, which enables me to save quite a lot.

You just buy a ticket, hop on the bus and within a few hours, you're already there, enjoying the cool breeze and the fog, drinking strawberry taho from the vendor at their big terminal in the City of Pines. I also like that the drivers and conductors look professional, and the bus is clean and relatively spacious. During our last trip there, my husband, me and our one-year old shared two seats, along with our hand-carry items and baby bag, and there was still some room for us to move around. But as it is with most buses in Manila, leg room is a bit of a problem if you're more than six feet tall. Also, no shady stop-overs. I even came to enjoy our first stop-over (travelling from Baguio to Manila) because it had a lot of food stalls serving street food and drinks. It became a 30-minute food trip of some sort. And don't worry if you missed your bus or if you decide to extend your vacation, because Victory Liner has the most number of trips in a day. I think for Baguio, the trips only have 15 or 20-minute intervals so you can always catch a ride home anytime you like. Well, depending on the volume of people taking the trip, of course

We travelled in a party of 4. Got to terminal 9:30am, was on a bus leaving at 10am. P456 per person (no seniors in our group). It wasn't that busy on a Wed. They asked if we had a minor/student, but there was no discount, so why ask? The station itself could have been more clean and inviting, but all we wanted was a safe, cost-efficient ride to the province. Overall, ride was smooth. I took an hour nap. A/C was fine, was able to put in 3 pieces of luggage in the cargo area. We arrived in Olongapo in 3 hours, then we had another hour to hit San Marcelino. Driving staff were professional, no-fuss. Would recommend if you are on a budget and have the patience. Victory Liner dropped us off steps away from my mom's house, right off the highway. The system worked fine for us. Would do it again if the ride is this smooth. Perfectly good option for most if you don't want to spend on taxis and unpredictable (or overpriced) personal drivers. Plus you don't have to deal with Manila traffic on your own, let the professionals at VL do it!

The line was long and I was seen at 8PM. Was told to inform the bus driver so I ran there, but when I got there they said they'd already given my seat to a chance passenger. I checked my watch, it was 8:01 PM. One minute lang. This means they'd started filling up that bus with chance passengers before 8PM. When their buses are late or delayed, passengers don't even get any percent of their money back, not even an explanation. There isn't even a grace period for passengers, not even 5 minutes. They moved me to a much later bus, and they wouldn't even give me a refund for the ticket difference, since I had reserved a more expensive ticket. Don't book your tickets online anymore, they won't hold it even for 5 minutes. There should be a grace period for passengers just as there is for your drivers and buses.

Located at the back of Shopwise Cubao (formerly Fiesta Carnival) and flanking Ali Mall, this is the pick-up point and final stop for most, if not all, southbound provincial bus companies. The main route serviced by buses here are Manila-Bicol trips. Over the years, an increasing number of liners have also included trips to Leyte and Ormoc in the Visayas and Cagayan de Oro and Davao City in Mindanao. Hence, more and more passengers flock to this place especially during holidays. The terminal's major advantage is its location right in the middle of Araneta Cubao, a longtime shopping and entertainment hub in the Metro. While waiting for your bus, you can while away the time in nearby malls like Ali Mall, Gateway Mall, SM Cubao, and Farmers' Plaza. Of course, you'll never go hungry as the terminal vicinity is lined with numerous restaurants and fastfoods. Shopping for souvenirs or pasalubong is more convenient because Shopwise, a big grocery market, sits just next to the terminal. If you have heavy baggage, there are authorized and uniformed baggage handlers or porters that you can hire for a fee.

The Benz-Solo (seats 32) has a 1x1x1 seating configuration, meaning no passenger sits next to another as the bus has two aisles. Oh, did I mention I was standing while scrolling through my Facebook feed? Yep, I had stand the whole time. Good thing the Wi-Fi was there to distract me. It's not really the bus line's fault, I think. Early morning trips (5:00 to 7:00) from Laguna (the bus comes all the way from Sta. Cruz, actually, before it passes through Los Banos) really tend to get packed, as it's filled with passengers who are off to work or school in Manila. Yes, there are people among us who patiently endure the long travel every day so they can come home to their family after-school or after-work. Living a short jeep ride away from Buendia, where one of their terminals is located, DLTB has become my go-to bus for my regular trips to Los Banos (where my sister and I studied and where I used to teach). The bus is clean, the drivers and conductors friendly, and the fare is affordable (Php 99). Their buses are relatively new compared to other buses plying the same route. And more importantly, there have been no accidents involving them in the news so far, so I'm quite comfortable during my trips and not stressing out over whether I'd make it to my destination in one piece or not.

I live in the (almost) outskirts of Pasig and I always pass by Ortigas Avenue Extension. If you didn't know, it's always hella traffic in that area so getting a ride going home can be tough. Thanfully, this terminal has been a friend to me every day after work. While lines may be crazy long, I am always guaranteed that an FX will come to pick us up. Unlike before, I would stand along the streets, wait for an FX to pass by and when they do, have to struggle my way into getting a seat amongst several people who are also dying to get home. While this terminal isn't the best terminal in the entire world, I appreciate it for the convenience it lends me. I can choose to line up between two destinations - Taytay or Antipolo. While Taytay would only cost me 40 bucks, I prefer lining up in Antipolo (which set me back for 50 pesos) because for some reason, more vans are routed to end up there. There are also lines for Binangonan and Angono, Rizal. If you line up at around 7pm, it's going to be a blockbuster. I usually wait until 8pm to 9pm since that's when the lines start to die down a bit.
