Karma Dog Training is a MUST for puppy owners! I went through their puppy kindergarten with my…read morelittle beagle (an infamously stubborn, difficult to train breed) and it was absolutely wonderful! It has really established Chloe's basics that I otherwise would have had a very hard time teaching her on my own. In fact, I am planning on continuing training with Karma Dog and enrolling my pup in their basic/intermediate classes. I have to talk about how great the trainers are. They do a stellar job of teaching each week's lesson and will give you individual attention if you and your puppy are struggling with the command. During the puppy socialization time trainers are able to answer questions about how to deal with little antics you are experiencing with your puppy. They are SO knowledgeable about all different breeds and behaviors. It was so comforting to know that there were people that I saw once a week that I could get advice from that was best for my pup AND worked!! Much of the advice you read on the internet on behavioral corrections is very punishment based. Karma is all about positive reinforcement and building a relationship of trust with your dog, which I love. I love that my little Chloe was able to start being socialized at such a young age in a clean, sanitized, safe environment with other puppies her size. They do such a wonderful job of sanitizing and keeping the area clean that I NEVER worried about her contracting anything after I saw the precautions taken. Socialization is so important and Karma does a great job of making sure that the puppies are gaining that skill by allotting a good portion of the session to it while still getting in a great lesson. Not to mention watching a room full of puppies play is just adorable. Karma Dog is also extremely accommodating. They will allow you to make up any missed classes or even re-take a class if you feel like you and your pup need a refresher on that lesson!! You also get access to an online portal of training material that is great! I seriously cannot say enough great things about Karma Dog Training!! I couldn't be more pleased with the results!!

After doing tons of research on the breed, I wanted to make sure I started off on the right foot. I decided to put him into socialization & training right away. I absolutely loved the style of the puppy kinder garden classes. There was a great mix of training and socialization throughout each class. During the puppy socialization parts, I was able to ask the trainers any questions that came up in-between classes. Puppies can be very difficult, and training can be tricky but Karma Dog gave me the peace of mind I needed to know I could do it. With their help, I was able to gain the confidence to teach my puppy the basics: sit, leave it (my favorite), stay, go-to-bed, how to not bite me like a zombie maniac, and a handful of other helpful commands. I will definitely be continuing the rest of the courses they have to offer! One more rid bit of information I think you yelpers would find useful. For almost a month, I believed my puppy was starting to have separation anxiety, crying in his crate NONSTOP. I was horrified. I work full time and didn't know what I could do to fix the sitaution. I called Karma Dog and ended up speaking to the owner Jeff. He was able to calm my nerves and it was an eye-opening and amazing conversation. I love everything about this business and I am happy to know there are places like this that truly care.

When Johnny saw Lauren, he was ecstatic, recognizing her from her working with him in the shelter before he was adopted out the first time. She laughed when he jumped up on her and wanted to know his name. I said, "Johnny," but she said, "No, his other name." Well, it was Boo. It wasn't but an instant until I was in tears again because I had become quite attached to Johnny during the 5 months I had him. He was so strong, had pulled the leash out of my hand and dragged me to the ground multiple times, and showed aggression to my family and their friends and their animals. That morning I had just met with a trainer who told me he could rehabilitate Johnny from his aggressive behavior but it would cost me $3500. This after having spent over $1500 already in training and vet bills. I was at my wits end. Lauren was so glad to see Johnny Boo Boo, and she saw so much potential in him that, on the spot, she asked me not to return him to the shelter. She told me she was a trainer and promised me that she would help me learn to manage him, to work with him and me as long as necessary to allow me to keep him and not charge me one dime. I agreed to try. She came the next day for our first session. In spite of Johnny being so excited to see her, she was able to help me make great strides with him. I was so amazed that she not only was able to get him to perform the commands she gave, but was able to teach me how to get him to perform those commands myself. I had most of the equipment I needed but didn't know how to use it. He had gotten out of a prong collar earlier this week. She told me it was too loose and fitted it to his neck. Then she gave me a safety collar to use with it to make sure he didn't get loose. I had bought a shock collar, but didn't know how to operate it. She familiarized herself with the model then proceeded to teach me how to use it in a humane and effective way to help bring Johnny under my authority. We are set to meet again tomorrow, and I am so excited. I have been practicing 3 commands with Johnny and anxious to make even more progress. It is so obvious in working with Lauren in just one session that she loves the animals and owners she works with and loves her work. In just the one session with Johnny, it was like he was a different dog. Thank you, Lauren, for helping Johnny stay with his sister Frankie and me, and for us to be a family.

Her excuse was that he saw me walking in and she couldn't do it right. NOT!!!! First of all, don't put him in the front of the store where he sees everyone getting in, and second of all, take him to the back and DO THE JOB you were paid for. It took THREE hours, and now I had to make an appointment with someone who knows what they are doing. A lady tried to warn me when I was getting in with the dog but I didn't listen. Go elsewhere, Petco is horrible!! The name of the girl was Lexi, and she should go get some training. She was nice, but needs the feedback, because this is not fair.

At…read morejust 180 pounds of pure muscle and anxiety, Johnny had already been given up twice and returned for behavioral concerns. From day one, we noticed he was a unique mix of overly territorial, overly protective, and easily overwhelmed. With strangers, or in chaotic situations, he'd bark, growl, lunge, and snap--not out of aggression, but sheer stress. During one of our first walks, a passing bicycle set him off so much he yanked me clean off my feet, leaving me sprawled out in the dirt, contemplating my life choices. At home, though, he was nothing but sweet--a gentle giant with his family. Desperate for help, we turned to TM Canine Services. Enter Tyler--the dog whisperer, the miracle worker, and Johnny's future bromance. Our journey didn't exactly start smoothly. At the very first class, Tyler approached us and suggested a better collar for Johnny. As I got Johnny into the car to swap it out, he went full chaos mode--snapping at Tyler and then at me. I was shaken and unsure if I should stay or go. Tyler reassured me, encouraging us to stay and observe, only interacting as I felt comfortable. Despite how rattled I was, I decided to stick it out--and I'm so glad I did. I needed to build my confidence, and Johnny desperately needed the experience. It became clear group classes were too overwhelming for Johnny, so we switched to private lessons. Slowly but surely, progress happened. Tyler's patient, no-nonsense approach, combined with his kindness and deep knowledge of dogs, worked wonders. Eventually, Johnny graduated back into group classes, where he added his own flair--like sitting down to spin in circles or flopping like a fish out of water on his back when he got bored. Fast forward two years, and Johnny is a completely different dog. He's calmer, more obedient, and while he's still overwhelmed sometimes, he's learning to trust the world again. His favorite person? Tyler. We're so grateful for Tyler and TM Canine Services for never giving up on Johnny, even when it felt like a lost cause. Tyler didn't just teach Johnny how to behave; he taught us how to understand him. If you've got a dog that's a little too much--too scared, too strong, too stubborn--Tyler's your guy. We can't recommend him enough!
