Mr. Ponds not only failed to deliver the agreed-upon services, but he also cut off communication entirely during a critical period. We hired him to replace both the roof and gutters, with the expectation that work would start in two weeks. However, five months passed with no progress, and during that time, he stopped responding to any of our attempts to contact him.
The original agreement was that we would pay him a portion upfront, and the rest would be paid once the job was completed and we were satisfied with the work. Instead, after completing only part of the job, he relentlessly insisted that we pay the full amount before finishing the work. Reluctantly, I made the second payment, hoping it would motivate him to complete the project.
His crew eventually finished the roof, but they never fixed the gutters as promised. The workmanship on the roof was also terrible. I could see that the way they handled the nails would lead to leaks in the future. Instead of fixing the underlying issues, they applied silicone over the nails as a temporary solution, which is completely unacceptable.
Although you might find positive reviews about Mr. Ponds, do not be fooled. He may come across as polite and professional initially, but in my experience, he took advantage of us, took our money, and left us with subpar work. Proceed with caution.
