Do not send your high school student here if they don't really need it. My child is level one and high functioning. She isn't getting any of the services they said they provided. A few months back I was at Mc Donald's and seen this school come in. I assume for a "field trip" parents please please reconsider having your children here. The teachers were so rough,careless, and mean to these children. The kids were young possibly between 8-10. So sad that these teachers or if you can even call them that had to treat them that way. Working at this school has been an incredibly rewarding experience. One of the biggest things I appreciate is that we're taught to truly be there for our students not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. There's a strong emphasis on supporting the whole student, and we're encouraged to continue our education and professional growth so we can better meet their needs in all areas. What really stands out is the support from the admin team. They don't just oversee they listen, guide, and help us grow into better teachers. You never feel like you're doing it alone here. I work at the middle school/high school, and I honestly love the culture. The staff here are fun, positive, and genuinely work well together. We all have the same goal: helping students succeed and feel seen. If I could give less than one star, I would. Please consider this advice and experience and think twice before sending your child to Victory Autism Academy. Our child's teacher that we met at Meet the Teacher let us know immediately that she doesn't do high school math. Our child happens to excel in Math as numbers are his preferred activity. The teacher further explained that the Principal assured her it's not a problem because the kids won't be at grade level...I guess an ignorant statement that children with Autism must not be capable. Clue #1 we were in the wrong place for our high-functioning 10th grader. Victory advertises that they offer four different paths of learning. Our family chose the "College/University" Path for our 10th grader for a reason. Victory has very misleading advertisement and "experiences" that have simply not materialized. Clue #2 we were in the wrong place: Our child reported "reading" picture books about dinosaurs and lightening and his math consisted of identifying place value, a skill that was taught in 2nd grade. Again, we chose Victory's "College/University" path for a reason. Clue #3: His teacher ripped a bottle of green tea out of our child's hands causing it to spill and then sending him to the principal. We received NO communication from the school regarding this incident. My child's teacher lasted three days and, again, NO communication from the school that she quit or was fired. She had 6 students in her class with at least one full-time assistant. Please save your ESA money and find other alternatives (such as ASU Global Academy or STAR Academy). Do not make the same mistake we did. Please do your research - for example, most of the 5-star reviews for the Sun City location are complete by employees I Victory Autism Academy, lol ...not exactly the type of review parents genuinely need to read. Former Employee 2023-2025 After serving kids for 2 schools years & 1 summer, I can confidently say this particular VAA school is not what it advertises to be. Granted, there are some great teachers & staff with amazing class management BUT there are also some questionable teachers & ignorant staff and classrooms that have no structure. As long as the façade of providing a whole child education is kept, principal & ap's put on blinders to the reality of whats happening within the school. Parents be careful when choosing this particular school as the care quality varies from what is expected to things that should never be acceptable in a school setting. This goes for quality of learning, handling behaviors, safety protocols, and toileting. These kids deserve so much more than what is currently being provided. It's a promise this school prides itself upon yet they are & continue to fall short. And the saddest part is these kids have no clue how much they are being under served. Their mission, vision, and core beliefs are beautiful words that hold no weight in reality. For future employees: I was getting paid 19.25 for the work l was doing anything less is a scam. My son just started this school August 6th,the second day of school he came home with bruise on his arm and said the teacher pinched him. I contacted the teacher she didn't deny that he was pinched, instead she wanted to do body checks on him. I told her body checks were unnecessary because he's not being abused at home. Within the next two days my son told me he ripped the paper and the teacher slapped him in his face. I contacted the principal. She called me back with the director on the phone saying that they spoke to their staffs and they both told the same stories. I told her why would my 6 year old son lie about someone hurting him? I withdraw my son from this school because I can't imagine what other non verbal kids are going through there. Please don't send your autistic kids to this school. Reviews about this school are true, they are abusive to the kids. They even turn their comment section off so no one can comment. read more

My son Anthony (Tony) has gone to this school since 1st grade & is now in 5th grade! Before Victory Autism Academy opened up their Goodyear location we struggled as parents finding a school we trusted with our autistic son. My son started early intervention at 3 yrs old & went into pre-school at that time. Preschool was good but Kindergarten was a hot mess! We tried one public school & a private school within that year. The care our son received was horrible at those two schools. My son would have to be pulled off the entrance gate crying because he did not want to go to the private school! He came home one day from public school with a big scrape across the side of his head! When I questioned the teacher & aide separately they had two different stories on what had happened to his head! He started Attending VAA in 1st grade. After a week, the anxiety on the drive to school & dropping off stopped! All of the teachers & staff here have been amazing to our son. But I have to give major recognition to my son's current teacher MRS. MICHELLE! She has been a god sent! She is the most caring, loving, & patient teacher I have ever encountered! Her communication is phenomenal. She keeps our son excited about school by creating a classroom atmosphere that is welcoming, stimulating, and conducive to learning. She has such great understanding when it comes to identifying our son's strengths & weakness to develop the best individualized learning plan for him. The best part is my son absolutely adores her! She is his person he finds comfort In when mom & dad are not around. She knows him so well that when he starts to feel unwell during school she can tell immediately & messages me! Even on the weekends he has gotten emotional because he "misses her". As a parent it is such a relieve to know you're dropping your child off at school with someone you & your child trust! WARNING: My son attended VAA for summer school and came home telling us that the teachers were mean. One day he came home crying for an hour and when confronted the "teacher" told us that they were unaware of his triggers and thought he was "just a bad kid" and began to tell us about another "bad kid" named Conner (a student at VAA). This was brought up to the assistant principal who told us they would talk to the teacher about her verbiage. After summer school was over my son opened up and told us that he had been getting aggressively grabbed and smacked in the shoulder (multiple times) by a teacher. When I reported this to the school neither the principal or assistant principal acknowledged the incident and forwarded my email to the director who informed me that the school found the allegations to be untrue. Krystal, the director also informed me that the summer school teachers were simply "support staff" and not licensed professionals. The school also has no cameras inside the class to ensure your child's safety and made NO ATTEMPT to report allegations of abuse despite their obligations as MANDATED REPORTERS. I'm hoping that my review as a Mental Health Counselor, Director of a Special Needs Ministry and a Veteran, brings warning to the undocumented abuse going on at Victory Autism Academy. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH. I toured in late May and was so excited about the campus. The bright wonderful room my child would be in had divided desks with colored stations, walls full of interesting pictures, a media section, a teacher's desk for touching base. I was excited about the special programs including music, PE, animals. There was a cool dome ceilinged auditorium and promises of programs. There were bean bag chairs in the halls, a cafeteria, and two different sensory rooms for kids needing space. I had some concerns when the student handbook suddenly changed a few weeks later, they seemed possibly connected to a new alliance with GCU. Two weeks before our start date, (the second quarter of the year) we toured again with my kiddo. The beautiful auditorium had been filled with portable walls creating who knows how many new classrooms. The room my child was to be in was now for a higher grade. Her new room was tiny, dark, with a haphazard clutter of plain brown desks. There was an alphabet on the wall and one or two other pictures Four tablets sat on an empty bookshelf. I found there was no longer a cafeteria; my child would eat in her classroom. I have no idea where the music and PE are to take place now. The back field is being transformed into the highschool - with prefab buildings plopped on the grounds. It is pretty obvious that the alliance mentioned was geared toward the $34,000 tuition per year. SImple math tells this story: 10 kids, $340K, 100 kids, $3.4 million. I do not even know if the school is accredited, or the teachers specially trained. I read recent reviews, and they are not kind. Things changed and not for the better. read more

I would give this school zero Stars if I could. My child went to this school for 2 years the one in Avondale Goodyear area and she didn't learn anything. The people that are there they call teachers you should really look into because most of them do not even have teaching certificates they expect their helpers to do the teaching and take the pictures and do everything for the children. It is dirty it smells moldy and it's not even an open campus where parents can walk in unannounced to see how the children are being treated. I spoke with another parent while waiting to pick up my daughter who said she knows first hand that the students get smacked on the hand for doing things without redirecting. If you have a child here I should strongly suggest you take them out and find other accommodations. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would! 10/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND this school! This school would be great if they put half as much effort at making the school better as they do with covering up incidents or not reporting them. Do not trust your nonverbal children here because they are not truthful. The staff turnover rate is very high. They'll care more about covering the teachers butts than the safety of the kids. The teachers all have great records not because they are great teachers but because the school does not keep a record. Several past staff members have said this is nothing more than a daycare and the students are not actually learning. I believe this because my son completed one semester here and regressed significantly in addition to gaining more problems then he started it. He developed several anxiety and self harming behaviors. He would only exhibit these behaviors before and after school. After further investigation and a pop up visit I was able to witness him being mishandled first hand by his lead (kindergarten) teacher Stephanie. She aggressively grabbed him, then shoved him back, and yelled at him. When taking this to the management team including the director of the school. I was gaslighted and strung along and there was no resolution. They "investigated" and just denied the incident even those the teacher admitted to handling him inappropriately. This is one of many incidents they have covered up. When speaking with the director (Krystal) of the school she let me know they would not be admitting fault or accepting liability and if I did not like it I could pull my kid. They. Do. Not. Care! All the while their tuition fees are steady rising. BEWARE!!! Just for the record...since removing my son from this toxic environment all of my sons new negative behaviors have gone away. He is happier than ever but still gets very stressed out anytime we get on the highway in the direction of the school. Do not spend your kids here! read more

(Just want to add they have been hiding this review on google for a few months) Probably the most unreliable "school" to send your mentally challenged child to. My wife worked there recently and can't say anything because they made her sign something saying she couldn't. They let children run away and don't tell parents, they feed children snacks and treats to the point of vomitting. At times verbally absuing children even with admin being around. Children are being emotionally abused by not having a guardian around them when they wonder off. They play with their own poop and pee when they are unsupervised in the bathroom even though they should be supervised at all times. (They're almost never supervised) because the teachers are careless and They don't care about the school being clean, all they care about is how they look to the parents because the parents spend so much money. If you're smart you wouldn't send your child here and you would put this trash of a "school" out of business. Public school is better than this "school". Just keep in mind, this is from someone who was just working there so this HAS NOT changed recently. read more
