Ashton Ranch Elementary is not a very great school for your child. I am now going into highschool but for the past two year I got unwelcoming presents everyday, starting with day one. I was in the 7th grade, the Principal had told me to go into the office on the first day of school since I was new and I didnt know where to go, I got into the office I got nasty looks everywhere not only was I nervous about starting a new school they then told me if "I went though the office again, I would be tartied". The same day after trying to find my class I got dress-coded for a small piece of my shoulder showing at this point. I went into the bathroom crying because I was embarrassed and scared for the rest of the day. I called my mom and she needed to calm me down. Later in the 7th grade school year I tried out for softball and had to pay $50 for a uniform we didn't get to keep and we never had practice. Close to the end of the year I was still on school property and I was walking to the gate to get out of school and a boy came up to me and started to sexually assault me on the school property. I looked around screaming and a teacher and I made eye contact and all she did was roll her eyes. I then had to take matters into my own hands and I kicked him and slapped him really really hard to get him off me. No, I was not asking for it. I was wearing shorts because it's summer and it's a hundred and twenty degrees out in Arizona. I was wearing a long shirt with my head down, minding my own business. I ran to the office and the office did nothing. The boy did not get suspended or detained. The school simply Shrugged it over their shoulders. That experience and what was already going on in my family, drove me to some unwelcoming thoughts that led me into the hospital. This school does not have respect for the children. And the beginning of eighth-grade it was covid so we were all online except a few kids that were allowed back in school, the boy who sexually assaulted me was allowed back in school with no punishments whatsoever but me however I had to stay home and on top of that they put him in my homeroom class. Besides that 8th grade was pretty easy since it was all online and less drama. Back to 7th grade the kids there were awful. Clearly their parents didn't teach him respect and manners, not saying that all kids should be perfect but there became a limit to bullying in mine that was crossed. I would say the school is terrible on my part. I know if you aren't a popular kid, the students and some of the teachers will make your life a living hell. The classroom environment is okay if you get the right teachers but if you don't you're kind of stuck getting laughed at. A piece of advice if you are looking to go into Ashton Ranch I would make sure you are into the popular group because just putting this in your middle school and high school year that's what all kids are about is if you're popular or not and if you're not you're going to get bullied. If you are a girl and you're not popular, be careful of what you wea, other girls and boys will find anything to criticize on what you wear. There are only a few people that I like at Ashton Ranch and that was the cross guard lady who is also the lunch lady. Every morning I would walk to school and I'd be super excited to see her. She would make my day a little bit better. We had good teachers on the teaching part. Overall I would rate the school 1 out of 5, the fact being that the office doesn't care, the teachers don't care about the child's personal being. They only care about teaching you work, grading it and getting you out of their class. read more
