This was such a wonderful experience seeing The Christmas Story here. I've never been to First…read moreAssembly of God church. I always pass by it and see something's happening over there. Each holiday, they're sharing with the community. Easter, July, Halloween goodies. When I got the invite via event bright, I wanted to attend. When my husband and I pulled up. We. Priced that 1st Assembly of God is a huge church. Gave me the mega church vibe. As we walked up the long steps stairway, the landscape was beautiful. There were members waiting to greet us as we arrived. As we entered, there was plenty of seating. I was able to fine seats in the second row with a great view. The Christmas story was about the birth of Jesus told through song, dance while connecting to various cultures. The concert was well done, very powerful meaning. I was impressed in the entire performance.

I can always hear all the activities going on, especially during this holiday season! I was so excited to find out that they had a Christmas light display going on every night from 630-830pm all they way til Christmas! My son is only 9 months old, and the way the weather has been so crazy lately, I was super sceptical about going to the Honolulu City Lights with him. This made it so easy and convenient for a family with a young child. It wasn't too busy where we couldn't get pictures taken, and I was thankful to have a fun and safe environment to take him to experience these things for his first Christmas. There was also a choo choo train that he was able to ride, and one of the attendants were so helpful in keeping him sitting upright the entire time (he kept sliding because of his pants)so he was able to enjoy the ride! Although I do have my own amazing home church, I wouldn't mind stopping in for a service every now and then because this one seems really great too!

The church is actually about 90% digital and only 10% analog, and no one looks down on me because I use the bus for my transportation to get here. This current year 2026 they have a new praise and worship team that really leads in worship not just in song singing. If you only tune in to the online services you are missing a lot by not coming in personally

Urgent: Inappropriate and Harassing Behavior at Pearlridge Church Main Campus:…read more I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the behavior of a staff member at Pearlridge Church Main Campus, who is also part of the men's ministry. This individual has repeatedly harassed me in the past over the course of nine months, asking for personal information, and acted in ways that made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Such conduct is not only unprofessional but also fundamentally wrong for someone representing a church that teaches love, compassion, and respect. The breaking point was when I arrived at church on 9/21/25 at 6PM, and this staff member blocked the entrance, insisting I had to sit in the back, despite knowing I always sit in the front. I explained that I have vision, hearing, and focus issues, and I need to sit in the front to fully experience the Holy Spirit and receive God's message. Keep in mind, there are plenty of open seats and an entirely empty front row. His response was dismissive: "Well, I suggest you come earlier then." Still blocking the doorway, I was appalled. I told him that I always sit in the front, and his reaction was turning me away from attending service altogether. Does he treat everyone with physical or health conditions this way or was it just me? His demonic spirit--his anger, hostility, and intrusive behavior--completely overshadowed the spirit of love and community that church should embody. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to walk away from his energy and instead sat in a front corner where I could enjoy the service peacefully. Later, I saw the same staff member hovering near the side of the stage next to the worship team, glaring at me with anger. His energy was oppressive and demonic, creating a distracting, uncomfortable, and hostile environment for me. Only the work of the enemy would seek to distract and anger someone who is trying to receive the Word of God and work his way through inside the church. After the service ended, he approached me and asked if I was "good." I responded that I was--was he? As I was leaving, he continued to follow me into the lobby, giving me a feeling like he was stalking me over my shoulder. He then started questioning why I even come to church if I don't obey his demands and called me a distraction for sitting in the front. I reminded him of my health issues and emphasized the importance of sitting in the front to see, hear, and receive God's Word. He then dismissed my concerns and called me a distraction again. I find this behavior unacceptable and unchristian. People walk in and out of service for various reasons--using the restroom, talking on the phone, scrolling social media (including Pastor Russel on stage), or even making distasteful comments during sermons. For example, Pastor Russel's comment about holding in a fart in front of his wife was inappropriate, gross and a distraction, which shows a lack of reverence for the spiritual atmosphere we should be cultivating. I asked this staff member why he felt the need to follow me and reprimand me, why he couldn't simply pray with me instead of trying to punish or shame me. His harassment made me feel so uncomfortable that I chose to walk away from him again. However, he continued to follow me outside the church, shouting at me in front of over a hundred people, telling me, "Don't you want to talk to my boss? Don't you have two minutes?" This is completely unacceptable behavior for someone representing a church and harassing me, creating that hostile environment. I do not know this man's name, but he was working on 9/21/125, 6PM service, hanging around the cafe area when service began( if there's cameras) he was wearing a Pearlside shirt and hat, had a faux hawk underneath his hat, with tattoos on arms and carrying a handheld radio. He kind of looks like Kalae George. His conduct was uncalled for and unbefitting of anyone in ministry, especially at a church that preaches love, respect, and kindness. Such actions do not reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ and are a shame to the body of Christ. It is wrong for a church staff member to behave this way--harassing, intimidating, and bullying those seeking spiritual growth. I pray that Pearlridge Church Management team of that staff will contact me, address this behavior and remember that we are called to love one another, not to act out of demonic anger and hostility. Mahalo!

Truly a church to attend if you want to feel at home. I do my best not to review churches I'm…read morecurrently attending as to not seem biased - I attended Wellspring for my 4 years living on Oahu. They were my first stop the day after I moved to Hawaii on a whim. What I truly needed from a church at that time was community and relationships, and Wellspring offered that completely. As a bonus, they did potluck Sunday every other week and the food was delicious. ;) One of the things I appreciated most about this church was the women in leadership roles. There was a pastoral team of 3 women and one male head pastor when I started attending - as of now, I believe the head pastor is a woman and there are 2 other women on the team as well as the head pastor's husband. The messages are bible-centric and the church frequently works to help improve their neighborhood. During the start of COVID, they offered produce boxes and eggs for free on a weekly basis to anybody who needed assistance with food. They currently offer livestream services along with in-person services depending on your needs during the pandemic. If you're looking for a new home church in Oahu, I would highly recommend Wellspring. They are a smaller church where everybody knows each other and cares deeply for each other.
