I literally stumbled upon this place since our car was parked just steps away, and what a pleasant surprise! It's a charming dining and shopping hall filled with small and unique shops. I was immediately drawn to a spot called Cha Chaan Teng, which means 'tea café' in Cantonese. These cafes are popular in Hong Kong but the menu here are limited. I ordered the curry beef rice for £11 and had a lovely chat with the cashier about the area. The curry was delicious, with plenty of protein and onions. Afterward, I wandered around and spotted a cozy coffee shop, a butchery, and a few other interesting stores. Such a cute, hidden gem! Parking isn't that easy though.

Lovely historical market located in the heart of Inverness - Built in the late 1800s. It holds a wide variety of shops and food spots and has a great little food hall in the back area where they have live music on weekends. You can find everything from famous Highland wool products to souvenirs to chocolate and candy in the shops. There's a pretty decent variety of food stalls too - and the only sushi spot we saw during our whole time in the Highlands! Each shop or cafe has their own hours and it can be hit or miss. We were there midday and about 60% of them were open. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The eating areas were very clean and well kept. Not sure about the parking situation as we were on foot - the town is extremely walkable. I know there's some street parking in the area.

This spot showed up as a must visit when in Inverness on multiple lists and we added it to our list as well. It is pretty small and has a lot of character. You see a fishmust-visitmonger, butcher, watch repairman etc...nice quaint little businesses. The best part is the food court.

Bad girl lime coconut cake. Loved the balance of tart and sweetness. Wonderful with my coffee later that night.

05/31/2024 Friday 11:00am. One of our stops to grab a quick bite and shop if we wanted to. An interesting little place. Mom and pop shops, fishmonger, seamstress, and a food court. Stopped in at badgirl bakery for a garlic cheese twist and my kids for a pork sandwich nearby at another shop located inside. The market is eclectic to say the least. Wish I had more time to enjoy the rest of the city.

I went to the Victorian Market on a whim for a quick lunch. There was several different booths to grab lunch at including barbecue, sushi, a sandwich and soup spot, and bar girl bakery. I ended up going to Bad Girl Bakery to grab lunch. I had the sausage roll and macaroni and cheese. Both of these were excellent! I could have gotten away with just ordering one of them and being full. I ended up with leftovers to take back to the hotel. The sausage roll had a crispy and flaky pastry and the macaroni and cheese was seasoned well and had a nice variety of cheese. The seating here is community style. It was tricky to find a seat as it was busy when I arrived there. There are many different shops in the Victorian Market to buy trinkets and other souvenirs. The prices were reasonable at many of the tourist shops, and I was able to get some stickers and post cards for cheap. I think overall the Victorian Market is a great place to go for lunch if you are looking for a wide variety of cuisine.

It's chock-full of markets, shops, and restaurants, and they all shut down super early. We popped in at 3:30 on a Thursday, and almost every shop was starting the long process of closing up for the night. We thought that was a bit strange, but kept walking through the halls, anyway. The three or four shops still open at that time were an ice cream parlor, a drug-store-type place, a place that made keys and a cafe. I do wonder what it's like in here around the holidays, as it gives off a very strong "Welcome to Your Winter Wonderland" feel. It felt a bit kitschy, and a little over-the-top. We didn't spend much time in here since most of the places were closed. We did make a circuit of the whole building, which gave us a chance to escape the afternoon drizzle. But, we didn't go back before leaving Inverness for our next stop. It just didn't seem to be worth it.

Very cute arcade with a hodgepodge of shops, located in downtown Inverness. The wide range of stores runs the gamut and included gift shops, a spice shop, jewelry store, tartan shop, dressmaker, hairdressers, a spiritual healer, as well as a milk bar so you can get energy to do some shopping! It was also very refreshing to see that the stores were all proper mom & pop stores, with nary a high street chain in sight! Everything was clean and well kept and if in the area, recommend coming and checking the variety of shops! Yelp 71/ 2019

For food options, there were several tempting choices, but Bad Girl Bakery offered good sandwiches and baked goods, while Salt and Fire had some good veg pita options.
