A large, well proportioned cast iron Fountain situated in the attractive Old Steine Gardens. it was the rsult of a private commission by local surgeon John Cordy Burrows to Amon Henry Wilds, who was responsible for much of the Regency architecture around Brighton and Hove. It was built in 1847 and unveiled to markQueen Victoria's 27th birthday.
Beautiful water display in the day and soooh well lit at night. The water can be thrown up 20-30 feet, and , at one time the reservoir was filled with water lilies and goldfish.not now though!!!! One of my favourite Brighton places!! read more
