This place isn't fancy but it has everything a sauna lover would need for a relaxing time. It's…read morevery nondescript from the parking lot entrance but don't be fooled by appearances. Inside, there are 2 Finnish saunas, 2 Russian banyas, a large steam room, big cold plunge pool, hot tub, salt room, restaurant and multiple lounge areas. Value is the best I have found (I have also gone to the now closed Sanduny Sauna and Southwestern Banya). The change rooms are basic but you get a full sized locker. There are only 2 shower stalls and they only provide soap, so bring your own shampoo/conditioner. The lounge areas have free tea and filtered water. It's mostly muskoka chairs and a few lounge chairs. You can sit by the pool area (I enjoyed sitting there are seeing people's reactions to the freezing cold water) or there is a big back area with TV's or there are some other tucked away areas for something quieter. The Finnish saunas have higher temperature but lower humidity, so they don't feel as hot. The banyas are HOT. I started in the Finnish ones before working my way up to the banyas. They do not post the temperatures the way the Korean saunas do, so I have no idea how hot they actually were, but in one of them I couldn't last more than 2 minutes - I literally felt like my skin was on fire!! This place is for the serious sauna aficionado, for the people who go to the sauna at the gym and complain it isn't hot enough. The big banya has a bench by the entrance for venik (the leaves on a stick that you can ask someone to hit you with... look it up). They have buckets of water in the hall to store your venik so the leaves don't dry out. I don't think they offer massages right now due to staffing issues. The crowd was mostly men when I went on a family day. There were a few families with kids, although the kids did not go into the saunas. It seems like there are a lot of regulars and overall the vibe is friendly and welcoming. Robes and towels were in good condition and the facilities were clean. I was there almost 3 hours and saw staff walking around and making sure everything was in order. The restaurant serves Russian/Ukranian dishes like soups, pickles, perogies, etc. I tried the chicken carburek which was nice, if a little bland. I would've gone for beef stroganoff or chicken kiev but didn't want to be stuffed before going back into the saunas. If you are look for a legit sauna experience without the frills, this is your place! I recommend bringing: swimsuit, flip flops, shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, a book, water bottle, a sauna hat if you have one.

It looks like its more tricky to find a place that offers a cold plunge as well and luckily this one does. I will say though I did not expect it to be this pricey basically $50 per session. While you get to stay up to 4 hours I feel id rather pay $50 for 4, 1 hour sessions. I guess however with how packed this place was ( I went on Saturday) the price is not something that is affecting most customers. I enjoyed the experience and did feel great after, If I could do a 30 min session after waking up every day I feel like I would be super productive. Sadly there is no real membership, a 10 visit pass is $350 its great if you can afford it but for now I will have to wait until Saunas become more widespread in the GTA and the competition brings the prices down.

Besides this place being a hair salon they also do spa services like waxing, massaging etc. You can also get your nails done here too. I always wash my hair at home then come here to get my haircut and styled and flat ironed(because its cheaper for me)and they always do such an amazing job. I get charged about $20-25. I have never ever had a bad experience here. The staff is nice and funny and will always suggest things for your hair if you have no idea what to do with it. It took me years to find a good hairdresser and they won me over. Take it in that I am super picky with my hair:)

Just Cut, No Talk, "Get 'Er Done" type place…read more Contrary to the other reviews, my experience at Young & Beauty Spa wasn't a positive one. When a friend & I arrived for an appointment, the hairdresser that we asked for, as per the other reviews, was busy cutting someone else's hair. No biggie, we'll just sit and flip through mags. After telling him what I wanted to do with my hair and asking him what type of look he thought would suit me, Tony was more or less unresponsive. I tried to talk to him, engage him in friendly banter and he wasn't having it. When he would respond, it would be a one word answer. I asked for bangs, he just said that longer ones would be better, so he never really cut the hair the way I wanted. At one point, he was soo rushed, while combing my hair down, he clipped my ear quite a few times...and he wasn't gentle either. Setting: Music was reminiscent of something that would be played at a Thai brothel! eg. George Michael's "Careless Whisper", Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" = DEPRESSING! The damn loop played twice while I was there. Also all the "hairdressers" were wearing flip-flops and one even walked by, taking a bite out of a nectarine. So this'll give you an idea of what you're signing up for. YES, the cut was like $20 and he looked precise with his cutting technique. However, I think I'd rather pay more to someone who was more interactive. My hair was never washed, so I guess you get what you pay for! Many customers walked in, no appt, and asked for Tony who, to me, just seemed overworked, and overall uninspired. After he was done with my friend, she came to me, and asked if her hair was even on both sides...it wasn't! It was like 0.5" longer on one side. She went back to Tony, who was already on someone else, and told him about her hair, and he tried to convince her that it was even. She asked him to get a ruler to measure it 'cause it was totally off. He didn't really say anything, but begrudgingly cut the other side.

The store display was so neatly organized. I had booked a Facial for 50 Mins with Shannon. She spent a few minutes before the treatment going over all the facials they do and having a look at my skin to see which treatment would be better. We decided on doing the Vinoperfect Facial. The treat room was so nice and cozy, with a heated bed. The treatment was super relaxing with the hand/foot massage. I felt super light after the treatment. Took an extra few minutes to get out of the bed after the facial finished. My hyperpigmentation on my skin was instantly better, skin felt hydrated and soft. I need to book a facial again soon! Reason the Second: I found a great deal on Travelzoo that I couldn't pass up. I absolutely love facials and this was one of the best ones I've had. The esthetician, Gordana, was wonderful. She recommended a hyper-moisturizing facial that was hydrating, relaxing and effective. The experience involved all the typical trappings of a facial (creams, hot towels, steam, extractions, etc) and a truly delightful and unexpected back and foot massage. After the massage, Gordana recommended a number of products, but was not at all pushy about making a sale. I ended up purchasing two products all the same. This spa is small, but the attention to detail is there. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that's as zen as it is hydrating.
