His bedside manner is atrocious and quite frankly the man could care less about my boyfriends health. When he broke out in a rash from a medication he was prescribed by "Dr." Gennaro, he called to follow up and was told, "rashes aren't really in my area of expertise" and sent him on his way...mind you rashes that occurs after this medication is taken are extremely harmful and can lead to further complications and long term side effect, but again...not his area of expertise. I'm unsure if this man actually cares to help patients or just collects checks. He sent my boyfriend to get blood work done to check the levels of this medication and then went on vacation, never reviewed the results and will not send them over to another doctors office for them to review as his symptoms are getting worse. He refused to add additional blood testing despite the recommendation of a number of other heath professionals and was told he would only check for what he wanted. Another one of his doctors had a phone conversation with him and relied to us how uncomfortable "Dr." Gennaro made him feel and told me I need to find a new neurologist because this man refuses to listen to anyone else!! His receptionist Barbara, was the most UNHELPFUL receptionist I have ever come in contact with in over 10 years of customer service. She would never answer calls or follow up with voicemails. I don't understand how this place is even a functioning practice. It's a disgrace how they treat patients. How is it acceptable and possible as my primary care doctor only has records from 1 year ago. I am concerned that my doctor cannot see patterns of trend or change in my overall health and thinks this is ethical and acceptable behavior. I expressed my concerns and the girl that I spoke with in "medical records" was extremely nasty and rude and honestly should be fired immediately. Not to mention, I waited just about an hour to see the doctor. I was scheduled for a full body scan and my appointment was treated as an inconvenience (low priority). As a matter of fact, I heard the Doctor from outside the exam room say that he was going to "pass off" the appointment to the NP because it's "only a body scan". I guess he realized that wasn't the right thing to do because he ended up following the NP into the room anyway. I showed him a few spots that I noticed at home and wanted him to take a closer look at- he insisted "there's nothing there" and kept saying "I don't see anything" but then finally admitted to noticing some discoloration and deemed it sun damage. I also brought attention to a rash I was getting on my shoulder. I told him I had a photo that I took on the day it was most prominent and he looked at the photo and waved his hands around saying, "oh that's nothing to worry about. It's water being trapped under the sunscreen". The appointment would've been better off had he not came into the room, in my opinion. Horrible bedside manner. Very rushed and short.
