I needed some dry cleaning done for an upcoming event. I read many reviews online for dry cleaners in the Pensacola area. None of them seemed stellar. I chose Vicks Cleaners at 2915 W. Navy Blvd, the main plant, even though I live off Nine Mile Rd. I explained my timeline to a very nice lady named Vanessa. She said the items (two suit jackets and a pair of pants) should be back before the end of the week, but told me up front that was only an estimate. She explained an option to rush the items for an extra fee and they would be guaranteed complete by the end of the following day. I was happy to pay the fee since I needed them over the weekend. I returned to pick the items up today. There was no problem at all. The jackets and pants are perfectly pressed. The ladies that I dealt with on both ends of the transaction were pleasant and cordial. I'm very happy with the transaction (under $30) and will do more business with them the next time I need something cleaned. I'm choosing to post this in order to offer at least a single counter to the lop-sided reviews. That's my experience. read more

Vicks used to be a family owned business but it was sold a few years ago at which time the service began to decline so I stopped using them. On Monday of this week I decided to give them a try again so I dropped off two pieces of dry cleaning. The worker told me it would not be ready until Friday at 5pm. She said it would take that long because they only have ONE PERSON working. Today, Friday, at 5 pm my order was NOT ready and was told "Friday" was just an "estimate". They didn't know when it would be ready and check back Monday afternoon!!! Oh and they are not open on Saturday even though the website states Saturday hours. What a MESS!! Vick's laundry and dry cleaning establishment is not a place to entrust any of your clothes to. You're better off gambling that you can do it better at home. At least you'll have your clothes. All of their "storefront" treat people as though the customer is always wrong. They continually fail at returning clothes when promised, and disclaim it by citing a homemade sign that says "estimated time" though their system printed claim ticket doesn't say that. And I started using them 30 years ago, when it was a guaranteed return time. And yet they'll charge you 20% more for "rush" service. I guess more money makes them better "estimators". I took four brand new shirts to Vicks to be cleaned. All four shirts took a week and a half longer to get back than I was told they would. However, the real problem was noticed when I put the shirts on. ALL FOUR NEW shirts had white stains located in several spots on each shirt. The shirts were supposed to be pressed. They were all four pressed with wrinkles. Absolutely, the worst dry cleaners I have ever taken clothes to. Save your time and clothes, just take them to any other dry cleaners!! read more

Horrible, horrible, some of the locations are shabby and poorly maintained, and the staff is unprofessional and or incompetent. My first experience with Vick's cleaners Pensacola was with a business suit jacket. The jacket came back not only poorly cleaned, but with a couple of it's buttons having been switched. Next at a new Vick's location a suede dinner jacket was dropped off, and on pickup day the staff claimed it was never dropped-off at all, and could not find it until several days latter after I insisted on a search at Vick's HQ Pensacola. BTW the jacket was never cleaned, and appeared to have been used. Even though they are the largest chain in Pensacola I will never, ever, go there again. I am more than disgusted! I took my dress to Vick's on November 18 and finally got it back on January 9. First excuse was production backup, next they could not find it, next going to the warehouse to look for it someone would call. After all the run around they called on January 7 and said I could pick my dress up. They had the nerve to charge me $16 and my dress look washed not dry cleaned. I'M SO TIRED OF VICKS CLEANERS!! I've tried over and over to not look for a new cleaners but today broke the camels back! This place is rude and beyond unprofessional. They never want to admit fault for what is obviously their fault and has no idea what the term "customer service" actually stands for or means! This cleaners is the worst! I dropped clothes off last Monday and a week later I am still waiting. Went yesterday to retrieve my items only to be told they could only find two of the four items due to the tornadoes on Thursday night. Okay no one can help that but the person that assisted me was not professional and lacked common customer service skills. I asked for a call back when the items were found and was told I could call and check on my items that were not found more inconvenience for the customer. I took my all white pants se, To Vicks Cleaners on 9th ave because, I wanted to wear it for Easter Sunday, I was told by the lady that work in Vicks on 9th ave to take it to the Vicks Cleaners on Navy Blvd, I did that so that I could get it back the next day, So I had to pay for an up charge, no -problem I did that. I went Friday to pick up up and was told that it was not ready at that time, I told the lady that I will come back a little later. I came back to pick up my Suit and the Jacket was Grey and my pants was still the same white, I paid $180.00 dollars for my suit, If I hadn't checked to look at my clothing they were giving me my Suit back to me that they had ruined I mean my jacket were Grey and my pants was still white I was so upset I aske the receptionist to call the Manger, She got her on the phone and she stated to me I can't do anything until Monday, I stated to her that I bought my Suit because I needed it for my Easter program, she insisted that it was nothing that she was going to do for me ,as if this were my fault. I said this is all I had for my program, The Manager , Minia said to me It's not my fault that you did not have a back-up, I lost it at that point. I wouldn't recommend this place of business to no-one. Then one of the workers that was in the front said to the Manager I am fixing to call the cops on her ,so we can get her off the premises. I would go lower if I could. I dropped off 2 dresses and 2 blazers. None were dry cleaned. Only the blazers were pressed but they were not cleaned. I submitted all again for cleaning, and I was careful not to lose my temper. When I went back only 1 dress had been redone. Only one employee cared, and she's not a supervisor. One employee kept eating when I needed help. Another one walked to the back. I've been going here for over 20 years, and I'm done. read more

I would not advise using these cleaners. I rarely have the need for dry cleaning and have used Vick's Cleaners a few times over the years. When I went to pick up my items, I only received 2 of the 3. They said they searched all of the locations for it but could not find it. So, I submitted a claim in late July. It's now almost mid-September and I have yet to receive any funds or update. I have called several times and keep getting an excuse why I haven't been sent the claim funds. If they lose your item, you won't be refunded. Absolutely horrible customer service. I waited a week and a half for them to pick up my laundry at my home. On THREE separate occasions they assured me that the driver would come to my home for a pickup and on all THREE occasions the driver failed to show up AND Vick's didn't even have the courtesy, or competence, to call me to explain. I had to constantly call them to find out when/if the driver would show up and all they would do is give me lame excuses that there were communication mishaps and that the driver was overworked. have been a customer for 30 years, most recently the Cordova Square location (Ambassador) and have seen a lot of changes but have been generally satisfied with service, friendly people and ok quality. Cordova Square has closed so I went to another location. personnel rude, clearly didn't want to be bothered with customers. Pick up, equally as sour, systems down, had to leave and come back hours later. was able to get clothes but sour clerk slammed door of BMW onto building putting clothes in back seat (drive through), removing small area of paint. Didn't acknowledge or apologize and was gruff/sour in dealings. we will not return to Vicks, will find other dry cleaners. very disappointing! read more

First, my clothes were not ready when promised. Once dress was not pressed! Another dress "was not ready" the following day. Stopped by again the day after and was told chemicals ruined my other dress. It was new, worn once! I asked how that happened when "dry" cleaning, and the response was a snooty, "sorry, but there is nothing we can do" to resolve the issue. We will not be using this dry cleaners again. They ruined my Revolve dress and even admitted that their machines have been acting up and still declined to rectify an $18 cleaning charge. Now I have to pay more money to get the dress fixed due to them. I should have googled this place before I took my belongings there to place in their care. Terrible customer service, Mina will not follow up with you when she says she will, no sense of hospitality to the customer. They will ruin your clothes, you are better off washing them in a bath tub then in their hands. read more

I only chose 1 star because there was nothing lower. I just paid 148.00 dollars to have some items pressed only. Got them back and they were wrinkled horribly to the point that I would not wear them. I was asked at the time if I wanted starch. I said NO. That was a mistake on my part. I took the items back this morning fully prepared to pay for them to be redone and was told, they don't do that, they won't add starch to women's blouses. Which was an option at original drop off. This was my first-time using Vicks, I spend around 300 a month on laundry. I would not recommend this business to ANYONE. I found Vick's Cleaners on Nine Mile in Pensacola simply because I had occasion to visit the Publix store in that same location. I was happy to find a cleaners close to me but now realize that this is one of the worst cleaners I've ever used. I took in a ladies suit jacket that had been cleaned a number of years ago but had not been worn and had a small spot near the upright collar. The front counter person indicated it would take longer than usual but made no reference to any other problems removing the stain nor in cleaning the garment. I finally got it back after around three weeks, was charged over $8.00 and no spot removal had occurred. It actually looks like they never even took it off the hanger. I had numerous items I was going to take in but obviously won't be doing so now. read more

Brought in a female top and a men's sweater. The top was completed (2 days later than u was told) and the sweater seems to have disappeared. I have go to the Nine Mile location where the items were originally received and received nothing but excuses. First I was told they were working on a stain. Next it got mixed up at the plant and would come the next day. Then was told they would have the "plant" look for it. This has been going on for three weeks. Each time I was told "someone would call " it has never happened, with one exception when a "new employee" actually looked for it while I was there. I have gone there several time and have been lied to each time. Still missing the sweater. Very dishonest business. read more

One star is much better than they deserve but it's the best option available. Completely and utterly incompetent. I had one simple crease that was very important for my dress code at work. Not sure if they are all in drugs or just don't understand plain English. Had to have it re-pressed three times in one visit and still looks sub-par. When I brought this up to management, they indicated there was little they could do because the people in the back don't listen to what they say. We dropped off 4 articles of clothes on a Tuesday before noon. We were promised pickup by Thursday. Came back Thursday and order not complete. Came back Friday and only 2 articles were completed. Had to buy replacement clothes to leave on Saturday to business conference. Spoke to management and they said we make no promises as to completion times. No apologies. No problem, I thought, since this place had been reliable in the past. Wrong! Return Friday to get clothes, but they're lost and the clerk has sent an email asking for their whereabouts. We'll have it here by 8 a.m. Saturday, she said. I go there at 9 Saturday and still no clothes, although they had been located -- at the Vick's plant on Navy Boulevard. But the driver hadn't yet come to work. Go to Plan B, wear Funeral Suit No. 2 and get to funeral home at 10:35, just as cleaners' clerk (very polite and apologetic) calls to say my clothes are ready for me. Too late, Vicks/Ambassador. I have been a customer of Dixie/Vicks for over 40 years. Since the company has been purchased by new owners, it has totally fallen apart. I recently took in my bedroom cotton drapes to be steamed/cleaned and was told they would be back in SIX weeks, which I was shocked but I left them. When I went back to pick up in August on the date on my ticket, the drapes were not ready. I spent 2 more weeks returning to the cleaners, with the kind workers e-mailing and calling the plant for me just trying to locate my drapes. Today, I got my drapes in a black bag, wadded up, and was told they didn't see any time in the near future they could be cleaned. Does this sound like a professional business??? Maybe a phone call from the owner explaining why they kept them for 8 weeks? Very sad that these owners have a monopoly in our community, which they are new to, and don't make an effort to improve personal relationships with their paying customers. !!!!!MILITARY UNIFORMS BEWARE!!!!! We moved to Pensacola in October and used Vick's to clean my husbands Class A uniform. They ruined all the buttons on his coat, rubbing his black EGA's and buttons gold, and keeping him from being able to check into his unit. On top of that, all the collars to his Class C uniform shirts were pressed down, creating creases on the collar itself. When I went in to address the problem, they very graciously redid all of the uniforms and replaced the buttons as well as paying for the replacements. We were very pleased with the way they handled the situation. Now, we visited them again in January to have the same Uniform set cleaned and again, ALL the buttons are rubbed gold. Accidents happen, and we were so impressed by the way they handled the situation originally, that we were dumb enough to use this business again. They're completely negligent with military uniforms, find yourself a different cleaner! read more

I dropped off a queen comforter for laundry about a month ago. The price was quoted as "$35 or so" and I was required to leave a $20 deposit. It would take 2 weeks. When I picked it up, the price was $42. The comforter was in a plastic zipper bag so I thought it would be great. Nope!! It was super wrinkled! I had houseguests coming and couldn't take it back for redo and wait another 2 weeks. So I spent over an hour ironing it on my own. Waste of time and money. Non military friendly, no discounts and my issue is that they do not know how to tie your neckerchief but when I dropped off my uniforms, they were all about it, I still got charged since they pressed and rolled it. I got it back kind of loose and untied, when I asked for a refund since the other lady gave me the wrong information, they were rude about it stating that if I didn't know how to tie it how would they. Military, I highly recommend NEVER bringing any uniforms to Vicks. My first experience my dress blues came back both completely filthy and also missing a button. I resent my uniform through and it came back clean with a new button installed but only with a single thread holding it in place. The uniform obviously came apart midway through my first wearing of it so I returned it with a detailed description of why I was displeased with their work. They then took my jacket for a week to repair their originally inadequate work and returned it to me with a single thread holding the button in question yet again and this time missing the backing associated with it. I pointed it out and received a half hearted apology with an offer to fix it again in approximately one week. I said, "no thanks." I'll be heading to a tailor now because of Vicks. I have been trying to find a decent cleaner in the Pensacola area for a while now and most people recommended Vick's. When I received my clothes back, a dress shirt was ruined (there were stains on it), my suit had been incorrectly pressed and the creases were wrong, he collars of my shirt seemed like they hadn't been treated at all, my pants were not cleaned at all. My boyfriend and I showed up about 10 min before they were closing and the lady (with her child behind the counter) slammed her stapler down as we walked in to show how annoyed she was by our business. As we were organizing the clothing another customer walked in and she sighed loudly then rolled her eyes. About a min later another customer walked in and she again rolled her eyes and shook her head in annoyance. On top of that they lost part of my boyfriend suit. I never thought I could get excited about a dry cleaner, but Vick's does it for me. I've been using them for years and they are wonderful. I am the person that always manages to bring in strange things to be cleaned, like the wedding dress that is totally trashed but I still need to have one more picture taken in it. Vick's doesn't promise or guarantee miracles, but does try very hard. My wedding gown came out spotless. My husband's shirts never have a broken button. The best thing I can say about them is they also know when not to clean something. I recently brought in a dress that I had purchased and spent way too much on that had a lot of zippers. I asked if it could be safely cleaned. The owner looked at it, and told me that I would be better off just dipping it in cold water and not dry cleaning it so that all of the zippers and hardware didn't get damaged in cleaning. I'd much rather be told that than to have something ruined, besides saving the money on the dry cleaning of the dress. read more

This place survives because they almost have a monopoly on dry cleaning in Pensacola, NOT because of quality or cost. As soon as I find an alternative place I'm going there! They are expensive charging over $6 to launder and press my military shirt (which has the press seams permanently sewn into it so NO special ironing required). They charge another $6.50 to dry clean my skirt which require NO special ironing what so ever. It looks just like it does when I usually just machine wash it and pull it out of the dryer while still warm and that's sufficient. But I figured for convenience I'd get it dry cleaned. Not again! $12 to dry clean 2 simple items!! That seems excessive to me. Additionally they aren't very good at it. My regular civilian pants had just the creases pressed into them but it doesn't look like they ran an iron over the rest of the pant at all. The only thing they are good at is laundering and starching my husbands dress shirts. That price is $2.65 which is much more reasonable to me. Why it cost 3x as much for my work shirt is ridiculous. read more
