I had been using this Salon for about 5 years and loved my stylist and the cut. Prices were reasonable as well. Then last year I got charged almost $200 for a trim and color. Why?? The salon decided to upcharge me because I have textured, natural curly hair. Oh and they topped that off by saying my styling was a new " level" so instead of the base $35 cut it was now $65 plus the $20-40 upcharge because I don't have soft, straight European hair. Let's not forget the color that ran another $65 plus texture upcharge. Never again read more

I gave a 4 star review the last time I was here which isn't a terrible review but I recently came here again and I felt that this place definitely warrants a 5 star review. I came in to get my hair done and wanted to try something new. I had a couple ideas but wasn't sure what would look good on me. I had gone to this salon for years beginning when they were located at Brookfield Square but have finally gotten fed up with the stylists putting color on my hair and then leaving the building for 45-60 minutes. Not only is this rude but is a potentially dangerous practice. Further, the stylists do not take you to their chair at your appointment time. Often I have sat in the waiting area for over 10-15 minutes while they are seen chatting before coming over without so much as a half-hearted apology. I think this is disrespectful and unprofessional. The wash basins are very uncomfortable. There is not much concern for the client's experience. And let's not forget, very expensive. read more

It's hard to review a salon as a whole since pretty much every single service is done by a different person and quality can be hit and miss. That being said I've been going to Vici Capilli for 10+ years now for everything from hair cuts, to waxing, and even my updo for my wedding. I personally love Hailey for haircuts. She does a great job, is super friendly, and happily gives suggestions if you don't know what you're looking for. I've had both my eyebrows and bikini area waxed here as well with a few different people and everyone has done a great job. Whatever gel/lotion/cream they use after waxing for sensitivity is absolutely amazing. I have no redness or pain almost instantly afterwards. The front area can be a little busy and sometimes it takes a while to get the phone answered or to pay for your service. But they do offer complimentary beverages and wifi, and there's a cafe in the lobby in case you're waiting. Give them a try if you haven't. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! :) read more

Awesome salon. If you are worried about going to a beauty school, don't be. When I lived in Milwaukee 16 yrs ago (was here for 8 yrs) I found this place, and it was my go-to. I'm back this weekend on a nostalgia/renuin weekend, and remembered this salon. I wanted to donate my hair and go short. So, I went back on the spur of the moment (at a low volume time.) I got in pretty quick, and had a fantastic experience. I really didn't have a style I wanted, just something that didn't need a lot of styling, and fit my body/face. I made an appointment on the salon side for a special occasion updo. They have different levels of stylists in the salon and the difference between them is price and experience. Initially I booked my appointment with a stylist but then decided it wouldn't be worth the extra cost because I only wanted a basic updo. So I called the day before and changed to a new talent. The receptionists were very nice and helpful each time I called, no issues there. When I arrived at my appointment I was politely greeted at the desk. You are offered a beverage and asked to wait for your stylist to come get you. Courtney greeted me shortly thereafter and took me to her chair. She was very nice and asked me standard questions to get an idea of what I wanted. I had no idea but we talked through it and she showed me a style which I liked and she started on it. It was really nice and she really took into consideration my comments while styling my hair. I liked that she showed me and asked if I wanted any changes. When she was done my hair looked great! I was so pleased with the outcome! And, it only took her 30 minutes to do the style! Which in my opinion is amazing because I have long, thick hair. I had been a customer for over 10 years at their Brookfield location. Kaycee and Joe were my go to stylists and they were wonderful!! I moved back to Wisconsin and found out that they closed so I figured I'd try the other location and got this Heavy set guy who had been there for years apparently. He destroyed my hair!!! He left the dye in while eating his lunch and my hair was fried. I didn't notice at first because he put a bunch of products in my hair to disguise it but after it got rained on you could see the damage. I called the next day and he tried arguing the fact he destroyed my hair. I explained that it was just breaking off after he just took 3 inches and my hair was fine before that. He said come in for a treatment but was very rude and defensive so I never went. It would've been very uncomfortable. I've never been back. It's been a few years now but I'm pretty sure that he's running it. Anyway just do your homework before going there he'd been a stylist for over 20 years he had told me. I recently had a medical emergency and as a result the hospital staff shaved one side of my head. I needed to have the shaved side cleaned up and also an overall shape up trim. I called to make an appointment and asked some basic questions as I had never been here before. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. The lady made my appointment and went over the process and also explained their mask policy. I was able to schedule an appointment the next day. Upon arrival I was met by staff who checked me in and asked me to have a seat. About five minutes later a stylist came and introduced herself as Cora. She was extremely pleasant and showed me to her station. She went over the cut I wanted and then conferred with an instructor. The instructor es also pleasant. The appointment was slotted for an hour and fifteen minutes but took about forty five. I asked not to have my hair dried due to a medical condition so that accounted for time saved. I cannot recommend this salon/school enough. If you get an option ask for Cora. She's five star read more

I've given this place a lot of chances due to somewhat reasonable prices and friendly staff, but I'm done. I will only go to the beauty school from now on. My last facial on 10/15/19 was a big disappointment. How can you give a service for 60 minutes and not incorporate any type of massage?? Not my hands, feet, shoulders, head, nothing. I've had much better facials through Groupon. One girl even did a parafin on my hands as a bonus and it was half the price of Vici's!! Plus, a good esthetician will give you both good and bad feedback about your skin so you can work to improve it. This girl didn't do either. I know it's hard recommending a salon when there's so many people who offer services but as a whole I have never had any issues. I live in Tennessee and I wait until I come back to Milwaukee for visits to get my hair done, as I cannot find anyone who takes care of me like Brandi does at ViCi Salon. She is a master colorist and I just can't say enough good things about her. She has taken care of my hair and brought it back to life!! I have bright colored hair and she never disappoints. I absolutely would not recommend. Disorganized facility where I booked an appointment and because someone at their facility made a mistake they could not accommodate the scheduled appointment. No manager on site to resolve or able to be contacted by staff if there are issues. Left being told manager would call me at a later date. Complimentary haircut offered, however I showed up to get a haircut before Thanksgiving. The last minute availability is why I was going to check this place out in the first place. Just came from a mani/pedi. Vici Capilli needs to stick to HAIR only. Their mani/pedi is nothing more than what you do at home. First, they use a small flimsy file, there is no cutting cuticles, buffing, shaping, etc. Worst of all, the paint job was horrible! I literally drove straight to a nail salon and had it done, the right way. Complete waste of time. Bright side: it was cheap. Wish I would have taken a photo. The stylist tried to charge me an additional $25 for a french braid in addition to the $65 for the hair color. The French braid was done loose and sloppy. She also left a large amount of hair dye on my skin. When I asked her to get the dye off my skin, she unhappily and quickly took about 20% of it off. I spent 15 minutes in the rest room scrubbing off what I could with soap and water. I also sat an extra 15 minutes with dye on my hair. She said she had to take care of a different customer who came in late. Eventually, her coworker washed the dye out of my hair. I asked the manager about the "new policy" of charging for a style when getting hair dyed. She said a single french braid is actually considered an "updo" and I should have been charged an extra $59. I arrived could minutes before my appointment then I get someone to take me 20 minutes after my actual time. They had mixed up the papers so they didn't take me on time. They had said a "professional" was helping them out but that i would still pay the same amount. When the hair cut was finished it look ridiculous. On the back it looked like he just had cut a straight line calling it a layer. It was extremely noticeable because of my hair color but it definitely didn't have to look that shifty. Do not trust that these students are ready or supervised during a procedure. Went in for soft highlights that will grow out naturally and they completely bleached the hair, not only that, the finished style was greasy and smelled unwashed and this was acceptable to an instructor. The people that work on you are students. However, they are under the supervision of licensed instructors. The instructors always check in on you and the student, and checks to see that things are being done properly. I have afro-textured hair,and when my friend made the appointment she made that clear.When I got there I asked my stylist if she had worked with my texture before,and she said yes.When the stylist revealed my hair,which she straightened it looked like a dry, stiff mess I was too upset to say anything at the time.Well when I washed it it smelt burnt and my hair didn't go back to its natural state. I visited the Salon side on 8/19 for a brow wax, and was happy with them. Upon checking out, the lady helping me had this smirk on her face the entire time. And about a handful of people were just standing around behind the counter, looking at me and whispering. It was very awkward and very uncomfortable. When I got into my car, I looked in the mirror and noticed that my head was bleeding in between my brows. It looked like a small pimple had gotten irritated from the wax. There was a definite noticeable amount of blood that had even smeared a bit. I can not believe that the staff would not tell me I was bleeding. It scabbed over, and looks much better now.. but instead of being smirked at, I would have liked to been informed. My daughter saw Lena today and she was outstanding. I would give her 10 stars if I could. My daughter is 8 years old and has mixed hair, she has never had her hair trimmed or professionally straightened (only with family). My daughter has a VERY tender head and only flinched twice. Lena was very gentle with her and did a great job straightening her hair (with flat iron). She also had a few tips for me to maintain her hair. I will definitely be seeing Lena again. read more

So my Dr. referred me to get a massage for my low back pain and sciatica. I also have fibromyalgia so I'm constantly in pain. I told him I've been getting them at my chiropractors office for years and they were temporary relief. He insisted I see 'HIS' guy. I told the doc that my chiropractic office takes insurance so the massage is just the price of a co-pay. His reply was -trust me, this guy's worth every penny. So I decided to FOLLOW Dr's orders and book appointment with Shawn. It took about a month to get in with him,(He's very busy) but let me tell you it was worth the wait. The facility is awesome, from the second you walk into the building you can see this place is very nice. It has a cafe that serves drinks similar to Starbucks which I thought was a huge plus. The massage that I received was different then anything I received in the past, he stretched me in positions I literally didn't think were possible. Then he gave me the deep tissue massage, It was so much pressure I thought he was going to push me and the table I was on through the floor lol. It's was strange feeling that I was pain free afterwards. I've been in pain for so long I just got used to it. Since I met Shawn, I've stopped taking my painkillers that I've been on for years and haven't been to the chiropractor. If your in pain, or looking for a new massage guy, trust me, you won't be disappointed! If his techniques helped me, I bet my bottom dollar he can help you too. read more

I've been there twice in the past week. Sunni and Brittany were fantastic. Very sweet. Sunni and I went over what I wanted for my color and I asked her for a recommendation we came up with a good plan. When the instructor came by (red head) she changed our whole plan and my hair was two different shades. It came out orange in the front but perfect in the back. To be fixed she threw in highlights which was what I didn't want now my hair looks over processed. I appreciate them fixing it but I didn't get what I wanted. It doesn't look natural. I hope the next time I come in Sunni can do what we planned, I trusted her not the instructor. read more

I went in to get my color corrected. I know this is a challenge and my expectation was paying a fair price for honest feedback and results. Normally I like to be very heavily highlighted but the highlights are blended. I ended up walking away with chunky highlights circa 1995. When I called to complain, I was told I could come back for things to be fixed. When I explained that this already was a "fix" and that I didn't want my hair damaged any further, I was told the "technical manager" would call me the next day to discuss options. I got a call the next day from the receptionist, suggesting the same "fix" they suggested before. I never heard from the technical manager but lo and behold, they cashed my check. Also I was told the service would be approx. $100. The total for the service was $170 - just for color - and I ended up worse than when the whole debacle started. read more

Just had a massage service yesterday and will not go back. My 60 minute massage lasted not even 50 minutes. In fact the digital clock that showed the time in the massage room was turned around when the massage was over because she was trying to hide that she finished the massage too early. The therapist yawned audibly 3 times, and the massage methods were sometimes rough and erratic (for a relaxation massage). It was one of the worst massages I've ever gotten. After showering in the shower room, I noticed black mold up by the windows. They no longer offer the hair product or lotion that used to be available after your massage. Then my therapist took me to the cash register to pay, spun around and walked away while the cashier just said $60. They used to at least wish you a good day, say thanks ask how your service was - nothing. I realize some of these things are small, but it's more about the fact that these were things they used to do, things that are just a general part of doing business and that show you actually care about your clients, that they just don't even care to do anymore. I've been going to Vici for probably over 10 years because I did think they had the most cutting edge styling and services. I started by getting my hair done there and eventually liked going for massage services. But after my last massage service, I won't be going back to Vici at all. Going there so long, I think I've always given them the benefit of the doubt and I really love the showers they have for after your massage service. I've been canceled on, given a massage with gloves because the girl had dry hands (weird) and now this last experience - it's enough and I won't keep giving them my money anymore. I find their customer service poor - it's almost like the place is run by smug students that couldn't care less if you come back. I don't deserve to be brushed off in this stuck up atmosphere they've become comfortable with and I don't think other clients should settle for that either. read more

I had her color my hair twice the first time there was an issue (i do have pics)and I went back the next day and she fixed it. I thought I'd give her a second try and explain & show pictures of what I wanted. Well the bottom 1/2 of my hair was orange strips (I have pics). I called and wanted someone else to correct this. Very nice, I sent pictures, they agreed & NEVER ONCE MENTIONED I HAVE TO PAY! I went in to get this corrected and when I was done I was charged for product. I tried the Green Science peel facial with Stephanie and had an AMAZING and very relaxing experience. She has flawless technique for facial massage, in fact the massage component was the best massage with facial I have ever had! The Aveda products used left my skin feeling very renewed, hydrated and fresh. It's not an aggressive peel so there was no redness which I was a little nervous about because I was going out that evening, more like an exfoliation treatment. The massage and facial facilities were lovely. My suggestion for improvement would be to immediately show guests back to the relaxation room while waiting for their service to begin, rather than having us hang out in the reception area with cafe tables outside the hair salon. I have been going to Vici for years. Had an appointment this morning for a cut and color. I confirmed my appointment by both email and text. When I arrived for my appt and checked in, the girl at the desk called me "Jackie". I told her I wasn't Jackie. Come to find out, Jackie had my appointment that I confirmed - TWICE!!! I showed her the text confirmation on my phone. She said apparently there had been a cancelation. I showed her the text confirmation on my phone, for which I received a reply thanking me for CONFIRMING my appointment. Told her I obviously did not cancel. She apologized but said there was nothing she could do. She told me she would have a manager look into it. Convenient that there was no manager there! We'll see how they "look into it".
