Been a pretty regular client at Salon Medusa for years. It is my me time to get my haircut or colored, eyebrows waxed, eyelashes tinted or a manicure or pedicure. They do it all. The setting is welcoming, the personnel are friendly and you are always greeted with an offer to hang your coat and asked if you want a beverage as well. I go to Reiko for my mani/pedi. She is very sweet and personal and looks like a piece of art. She is always dressed fashionably and her hair is always in a neat style or color and she has a look that compliments her tattoos. The pedicure is thorough and the massage chair definitely helps relieve some stress. Oh and the scrub she uses helps get the dead skin off. I'm hooked on the Shellac manicure as it lasts over 2 weeks. When I go it is a treat for vacation or wedding prep but I highly recommend Salon Medusa you won't be disappointed. read more

I decided to use a Groupon for the first Time to get my hair done. I have been wanting to get some highlights put in using the technique balayage. Groupon offered a few salons where you could go and get this technique done. So the salon was the one I tried to check out. They are located in a really nice strip mall area out in Brookfield. There is a Panera right by them which was lovely so I grab some breakfast before my appointment. When I arrived I was greeted immediately by a very nice woman who got me all checked in. They use Aveda products so the front area was filled with all of the Aveda hair care and facial products that they sell there. My appointment was at 11:30 but I got there at 11 which was great because Caitlin took me right away. I was told on the phone when I made the appointment that it would be around three hours. And it pretty much was right on the mark! I asked a lot of questions out of curiosity sing I've never had this technique done before for highlights. I was told it's like painting the hair so each strand will be very different based on how your stylist paints. It was kind of a cool experience and I turned out amazing! I couldn't be happier with how it looks. I'm ready for the spring and some warm weather and I'm going to look amazing for my trip to Arizona in a week. I would definitely recommend the salon. Staff was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The salon is very clean with many different areas for hair, facial treatment areas and relaxation. read more

Well, I have paid a lot of money for a style that collapsed in a short time after leaving the salon. Paying $72 dollars for conditioning, haircut, and style is too much for a hairstyle falling apart within the late afternoon. All I did was drive from the salon to my home. Sarah was my stylist. The owner blames it all on me; I thought professionals with experience would know how to work with my hair. I guess I am expecting too much from Sarah. What amazes me is students from a beauty school can style my hair with deep conditioning treatment and styling without the style collapsing within a couple hours. Now I was getting a Brazilian wax, which isn't the most pleasant thing, But Reiko was very friendly and well-versed in the best way to get the best result. I came here because I had a day off and I wanted to pamper myself a but. Another reason was that it was an Aveda salon (and I absolutely love Aveda products). The first service I got was the massage. The person who was going to do the massage showed up to work like a minute after I got there (I showed up 5 minutes before my scheduled time) so I had to wait about 5-10 minutes after my scheduled time before I got in to get my massage. The massage itself was pretty good - it got all the knots out and was very relaxing. I also got manicure/pedicure which was nice....the person who did my nails was very nice and did a great job with my nails. I just wish the salon offers Shellac for pedicures instead of just offering it for manicures. I didn't get a haircut/color so I can't speak for how the hairstylists are but I did get a 20% off coupon because I mentioned that I may come back to get highlights done (and I would be a new customer to their hair salon). I will have to check it out sometime. Overall, it was a pretty positive experience....some minor kinks just need to be worked out (or I just have high expectations..) read more

Awesome first experience at Salon Medusa with Rachel! First off, we're in the height of the COVID surge and this salon is practicing excellent precautionary measures. Really appreciated! You do have to wear a mask throughout service (as you should, imo). Second, Rachel was so nice! She was easy and engaging to talk to. I got the impression that she followed my lead about how much I wanted to interact, which is greatly appreciated in a brand new stylist. Third, she's good at what she does! She has 8 years of experience and does her job effortlessly. I'm a person who is a little anxious and critical about haircuts because I've worked at growing out my hair and keeping it healthy - so I'm sensitive about it getting messed up! She listened to what I wanted, followed through, and even finished with a beautiful style! And the whole process - from checking in to getting back in my car - took less than an hour. I was looking for a new Hair Salon. I've had a hair stylist for over 8 years. Sadly he passed away. I picked Medusa Salon because the location works great for me. I had Debra working on my hair today. She was amazingly helpful to what I needed to get done, and so nice to me. She did my hair color, and hair cut. Ive been feeling sad about moving on to a new hair stylist, but I'm glad I found this place. I love the results !! I used to go to Salon Medusa when Natalie worked there. Natalie always did an excellent job at cutting and coloring hair. Natalie left and a friend recommended a stylist at Roots Salon (Bailey was also excellent). Bailey left in 2020 and I thought I would give Salon Medusa a try (I missed their non-irritating Aveda hair colors). I called Salon Medusa and asked the receptionist for someone who was excellent at cutting hair. The receptionist recommended a name (I'd rather not say in public) of one of their senior stylists. That stylist was no Natalie. She did not know how to cut hair. I left the salon with lopsided hair. I went back the next day and said "my hair is clearly longer on one side". The stylist insisted that it was not. I did not go back to Salon Medusa again. I called Azana and asked for their best stylist. The same thing happened (the stylist could not cut evenly and layered my hair incorrectly). I called Azana again and made a bit of a fuss. I told them that the stylist I had was bad (And guess what? They already knew that!). This time, they recommended two other stylists. I made an appointment with Roxanne (she did an excellent job of cutting, layering my hair). The point is, please don't trust the receptionist at recommending a stylist. The receptionist will recommend a not so busy, and therefore not so good, stylist. I am certain that Salon Medusa has excellent stylists too (and not so good ones as well) just like any other salon. My message to salon owners is "tell your receptionists that if a customer calls and asks for your recommendation about the best stylist available at your salon, give her an honest answer. If you don't, that customer may never return (not just for hair, I used to go to Salon Medusa for nails too)." My rating is based on past experiences (with Natalie) at Salon Medusa. The minus of a star is due to a more recent experience. read more

I have been going to Salon Medusa for 20 years -- can that be possible? -- and even though it's a drive for me, I would not even consider entrusting my hair to anyone else. Ever. The salon and staff are warm and welcoming, there's always cool music playing, and the service is impeccable. All the staff are knowledgable about their Aveda products and super approachable. Salon Medusa is chic and a little edgy without being pretentious or intimidating as some salon/spas can be. David has seen my hair though all manner of changes, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I can't count the number of times strangers have given me compliments on my hair and asked for my stylist's name. He is a great listener, has terrific ideas, and is incredibly skilled. We are lucky to have him in the Milwaukee area. My monthly visits to the salon are like a mini vacation, complete with refreshments and great company. Thank you David and team!! read more

I wish I could write a review for services, but I can't. This company is shameless. I booked an 11AM appointment with Danah in Brookfield, and checked in at 10:50. Not only was I on time, but I was patient as I waited for her to run late with another client. Not a good first impression. I had to call the front desk, THREE separate times for an update while I waited outside. No one bothered to tell me she was behind before my appointment, nor the 2 times they said they would, after she was already late. At that point, I let the front desk have it. Zero time management, much less professionalism. Rather than take accountability, they instead chose to blame it on her previous client from early AM, who was "more complicated than what we thought".... Complicated/late or not, is still no excuse to leave your client hanging and your business suffering. Needless to say, I'm glad I evaded this trainwreck of a chop shop. I've been to a lot of salons in my 59 years but this one, without question, made me feel the most comfortable. Why? It was filled with other women my age. The front desk staff didn't treat me like a fossil and I didn't get the vibe in there that its one of those "trendy wendy" salons where only the cool people go. Its upscale but not over the top. My service was a Keratin treatment to straighten my hair. My service provider, Amanda was warm, welcoming and very kind to me. I had fun during the process-a lengthy 3 hours! I have been going to this salon for 5 years- I see Natalie for my hair and she always does a awesome job, she is a master with color. I like the layout of the salon, I haven't gone for any spa services here yet , but the spa area seems nice (maybe a bit small). My only issue is the nail area I had a bad experience once and have not used them for nails since( but from what I understand that tech is now gone ) so I probably would try them for nails again in the future. Friendly hosts welcome you, services begin promptly at the scheduled time (hair, nails, toes...never waited more than 5 min. past appt time). During the service, experience staff are attending to every need...magazines, beverages, relaxing shampoos....oh the shampoo girl makes me so relaxed! I live in Canada but visit this area often. Whenever I do, I wait until my arrival here to fit in a haircut, style or colour...whatever I need. I've never been disappointed and always feel refreshed and ready to face the world when I leave the salon. I first visited Salon Medusa because it was convenient and an Aveda Salon. That hasn't changed. I continue to visit this salon because of the skill of the stylists and the extremely friendly staff. The coffee on arrival, especially on a cold day is also welcome. I should add that one skill I really appreciate is that the stylists listen to my requests whether it is for them to do their own thing on one visit or to just follow my requirements to the letter on another visit. Hard to believe but I've been getting my hair done by David Schminke for about 28 years, pre-Salon Medusa (starting back in the long gone clubbing days!). I will never see anyone else, not willingly at least. Not that I do it for the compliments, but I repeatedly receive comments about my hair--that's just how good David is; my hair doesn't just look great to me, but others recognize how well it fits my face, features, lifestyle (and believe me, we've taken a lot of chances and gone a lot of directions over the years! And each venture has been a success). And the Salon itself is wonderful. I've had facials, massage, waxing, manicures and pedicures. Each process has been impeccably done. The staff, each and every one, are friendly, professional, knowledgeable in all that they do. The salon is run so well and I feel so welcomed when I am there, it's just a great experience start to finish. I could not recommend Salon Medusa more highly.
