The 411 on the Ribbit Robot IPA.
Randy O.

In town for a motocross race and stumbled upon this little gem: A chill, but lively little spot with a great IPA and a permanent food truck (El Viejon) that serves up some tasty tacos. I got the strangely-named, but delicious, Ribbit Robot IPA, a hazy with Cirta and Krush hops, and the Gobenador and Rockfish tacos, which came with two sauces that brought the heat. Too bad I live 1,000 miles away.

Wow. I feel like i have ripped myself off. This place is amazing. I've been to the truck outside and this area many times and never came in. Beer is incredible! The theme is nostalgic, creative and yet modern all at the same time. It's like the bar you wish you had in your basement. Man I was in impressed. I will be back

Vice is awesome. The team here is really friendly! I tried a growler of the blueberry breeze cider. It was awesome! Clean, crisp, with a great flavor balance. This might be my new favorite cider! Well worth a stop in! Great service, great beverages!

So, I was super bummed out after dropping my car off @eastvancouverautomotive (they do great work). I noticed Vice Beer and decided to check it out. WOW, how have I not been here before!? Solid beer selection, a couple cider options and some hard seltzer. Very cool atmosphere and great outdoor seating area!! They also have @ElViejon food truck parked next to it and from what I saw great menu!! Definitely coming back for beer and tacos

They are tucked in an industrial strip mall that doesn't face the main road, so while we have driven by them numerous times we had no idea they were back there. But thanks to Yelp we finally discovered them. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and they have several seating sections to choose from: inside up front, at the bar, in the little "living room" area (complete with couch, high-top table & a TV with a selection of 80's movies on VHS to watch), the back brewery section that has picnic tables (plus a ping pong table & video games), and their little outdoor patio in the parking lot. They play 80s & early 90s tunes to complete the vibe. And their beers? Quality selection of their own varieties of brews on tap & canned to-go. They regularly post on Instagram so follow them for updates. And if you're hungry THE BEST taco truck, El Viejon, is parked next to them. Highly recommend! They will be opening another taproom location in downtown Vancouver soon, next to Slow Fox Chili. Not sure when that other location will open but really looking forward to it!

Vice Beer was a recent brewery that I tried. A fairly new brewery that opened in Vancouver, WA. For a short time I had all of Vancouver 's breweries all tried and visited for the category of " breweries I have yet to try in the Portland metropolitan area". But give it a time and new breweries are a hatching out. For Vice Beer I had their Mexican Lager called Cut My Lime (Into Pieces). Not a bad Mexican Lager and I found out I tend to be pretty picky when it comes to Mexican Lagers. Maybe not the best Mexican Lager I've had but a pretty good one. I'm always on the search for Mexican Lagers and kind of a rare thing is finding one that's aged in tequila barrels but whenever I do it is always worth the search. If Vice Beer made a variant of this lager with that then I would s really head over heels with it!

Small Newish Brewery that took over another's location. They offer a variety of beers which was a nice opposed to seeing 10 different IPAs. They don't do a taster trays in which I really wish they did. They will give you a small taste however but some beers are tasty but sit heavy like the pumpkin ale (tasted more like banana) so that as part of a taster would be nice. The strawberry margarita was tasty and so was the suitcase full of cash. The mimosa sour didn't hit the spot for me as I wasn't getting the mimosa flavor. The place is pretty small but offers a few environments - the typical new brewpub up front, an cozy living room, and they also had a table setup in the Brewery portion through the living room's sliding door. A variety of seating, we were at the high table in the living room and the chairs were quite comfortable. Late 90s and earlier 2000s music playing such as Blink 182. There was also a small game room with I 3 machines I think however looked like only 1 pinball machine was up and running when I was there. Decent outdoor seating area in the parking lot directly out front of them. There is also a Mexican food truck you can order from that I didn't try.

This place is so dang cool! Like popping right back to the 80's. Service was excellent, different little areas to sit and arcade games best of all... the beer was delicious. I had the hazy that was on tap.

Delicious beer, great theme & vibe. I would love to see another food cart here with more Vegetarian options. But the beer is really well done! And the staff is really inviting and friendly!

My friends recommended I check out this place, and it was so good! Bria was super friendly and awesomely knowledgeable about all their tasty beer places. Bria said their goal was to have a beverage for everyone, and they really do! I appreciate they support a lot of local businesses for things they don't make such as wine. The space was very cozy with nice indoor and outdoor space. I really enjoyed The Freshmaker fresh hop IPA. It was perfect in all ways from its crisp finish to the refreshing fresh hop flavor. I look forward to coming back in the future!

We love everything about this place: terrific selection of beers, delicious food right outside the door, and excellent service all around. The Carne Asada was the best I've ever had.

First of all, I lived by this place for the longest time and it wasn't until I moved 20 minutes away, that I discovered it... so I find myself shamelessly returning to my old neighborhood on the regular. My boyfriend is a huge fan of Hazy IPAs so this is really his beer spot, while I gravitate towards ciders (they have a delicious blueberry one on tap right now). The vibe is unlike any other with their living room setup with a whole VHS collection. I put Never Ending Story on, and chilled on the couch for two hours, enjoying the 80s flick with my cider and tacos from the outside truck. Perfect Saturday night!

Vice Beer and El Viejon Taqueria & Mariscos. Beers left to right: Pog Drip (10 oz glass) and a pint (16 oz) of Versa IPA.
Gia M.

Great Micro brewery beer! My husband had the Pog Drip and I had the Versa IPA. Both were excellent! I love that they play up with their beers. For example, they had a Mimosa and a Strawberry Margarita flavored beers on tap. The bartender was nice enough to let me try samples. All of them were very good! In fact, I had a hard time choosing. In the end, I was happy with my choice. However, with that said, I am stoked to make my appearance again and try out some of their other inventive beers. Their creativity reminds me a little of my favorite brewery in Portland, which is BREAKSIDE BREWERY! Be warned though, one beer can make you as buzzed as a bee on honey!!! ;-)

I went to yelp and was looking for somewhere to go and Brothers Cascadia stood out with all their options. The steak sando and the chicken sando both looked great so we ordered one of each and shared - boy they hit the spot! This is such a fun spot! A good balance of a neighborhood pub but also a place I could bring my kiddo and enjoy a basket of fries. Everyone on the staff was so friendly too. I look forward to coming back.

He enjoys playing dj with his curated music, which also had merit, but again was too loud for a weekday lunch. I'm not an old fart, (I think he and I were close to the same age) but old enough to have lost some hearing in my youth, and it was still a bit loud. The pork rinds were good, surprisingly generous and tasted very fresh. I liked the Tajin on them, but would have preferred it to be an option (shaker on the table) rather than just full coverage. I would have shared them, but the person I was dining with doesn't care do the spice. I ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger with the sauce on the side and it was a generous portion, that was well-cooked. Just the way I ordered it! That being said, the beef was relatively tasteless and the whole sandwich was extremely greasy. The bacon on the sandwich was plentiful and not as greasy as the burger and cheese. I don't know the fries would be seasoned. It may or may not have been on the menu, I honestly can't recall. The place seemed well kept and customer oriented, food service wise, but the ambiance could be dialed down for the lunch crowd. If there was an alternate burger available nearby, I might not give Brothers a second chance. But I can't hate on it. Just a few too many flaws for the price, which was not cheap. Paying over $5 for a Mexican Coke was pretty steep since I didn't see any fountain options. But lastly, too be fair, the bartender was VERY kind!

Over the course of our experiences we have had eight different beers at this point and time and we have enjoyed them all very much! There is a neighboring coffee shop that is actually right next door called Relevant Coffee and I imagine it's the same owners doing both coffee and beer at two different locations. I bought a coffee bag of Relevant Coffee for us to enjoy at home and it was quite good! You can buy coffee bags at the brewery also which is where I bought mine. And now onto the beer! As I said currently I have had eight different beers and I will go into detail as to what I thought about each one I had. 1) Living Eulogy is a Bock beer which was something I don't normally am able to get a hold of so getting one was definitely a priority. In this flavor profile you can detect notes of chocolate, coffee, sweetness and creaminess. It is also a fairly thick beer. 2) The Pocket Symphony is an American style IPA and was nice and refreshing with it's melony, hoppy, fruity and crisp flavor characteristics. I considered this beer to be very, very solid. 3) A favorite of mine was the Sundressed and I rated quite high on Untappd. This was a Witbier which I do love getting. These wheat based beers are so tasty even though sometimes the gluten comes back and may bite me later. the flavor of these beers are so blissful which is why it's one of my favorites. Flavors to have fun finding in the flavor profile are maltiness, citrus and coriander. This beer goes down nice and smooth! 4) Inner Song is another IPA I had. This time out it was a black IPA or a Cascadian Black Ale as some call it. I do love these kinds of beers! At first in our brewery adventures this IPA type was kind of hard to find but they seem to be a bit more common now. The flavors in this beer are malty, roasty, floral and some notes of coffee. This beer is also very aromatic. 5) Dark Ambient was another beer we delved into... this time a Vienna Lager. A type of lager that Steve and I both like quite a bit. Perhaps not our most favorite lager type but that didn't hold me back in giving this beer a very high rating on Untappd and it becoming one of my favorites. Flavors to enjoy in this beer are caramel, toastiness, herbal aspects, some fruitiness along with a dry finish. 6) The Relative Strangers lager was another lager we thought very highly of... seems like a trend here with this brewery and being very, very fond of their lagers. Well, it's completely justifiable as the lagers from Irrelevant are great! In this beer flavor features to enjoy are coffee, caramel, roasty, malty and coffee. 7) Mediocre Love is an IPA we had at one point from our beer experiences here. It's a good, solid IPA and is very refreshing! Look for fruitiness and a presence of peach. 8) The final beer was the Shrimp Fried Rice. This was another IPA of the New England sort and was very nice and refreshing. Flavors to partake in this flavor profile are juicy, tropical and some sweetness. The beer is smooth and soft in body. I realize describing some of the flavor features in all these beers there is quite a few of the same flavor elements in the beer... like coffee or roastiness but despite those flavor characteristics being in more than one beer you can certainly tell the difference between those that do share common characteristics so don't think that finding one element of flavor in one beer over another is going to blur together as to what beer you are drinking and if you can distinguish the difference... you certainly can!

Consistently great food, top notch service, no matter the day or time. Honestly, just make the simple decision to keep your hard earned money and skip Goon Burger / Irrelevant Beer. This "goon" burger only qualifies as a burger in some chaotic South Park fantasy. It looks like they really dropped it on the floor and called it a concept. The fries? Sad, soggy, barely seasoned, and completely forgettable. Now the best part: the hipster staff at both places. They take themselves very seriously. One of their newer employees, clearly aiming for Employee of the Month, decided to stop me while I was literally grabbing my food and leaving, just to tell me, in a smug tone, that next time I can't bring my dog. The funny part. I was already outside waited for my food away from patrons, then I grabbed my food, and was leaving right away. What exactly was the problem? Did my calm, happy dog disrupt the sacred burger experience? I laughed and said we'll see about that. You don't just randomly enforce a rule like that and talk to customers like that. I've been there plenty of times before with no issue. But apparently, after a very important team meeting about dogs they had just yesterday, they have decided that, even "pickup customers" can't have their dogs with them. Mate, you could have just said "hey, can you tie him outside next time?" Easy. Human. Instead, you went full authority mode over a mid burger spot. I won't be going back, not because I will miss anything, but because of that attitude. When people blindly follow rules without basic common sense, it just gets sad. Anyway once again, Brothers Cascadia Brewery. Two minute drive, ten minute walk. Just go.

The hummus plate, served with fresh veggies and pita, was also excellent. For drinks, I had a cocktail (I can't remember the name), and my partner ordered a whiskey sour; both were very good. However, the atmosphere left something to be desired. The music felt out of place and quite loud, which made the space feel a little uneasy. Additionally, while the lighting itself isn't bad, at the night time it was a bit too bright and somewhat took away from the beauty of the waterfront view at night. If you're coming here for a view, go in the daylight because you won't see anything in the night time unfortunately. It's just too bright inside I think dimming the lights slightly would help create a more inviting, intimate ambiance and allow the view to shine. But it just felt over distracting between the music and lights and just window reflections at night and no view which is what I was hoping to see. With a few adjustments to the lighting this Taphouse could really make the most of its incredible location and provide an experience that matches the quality of the food. Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

We got there early on a Saturday night before it was crowded which means we had the time to look around and observe how cool this place was. They do have a stage where they can have live music play and also do karaoke. We were there too early for either of those, but it's cool to know that they have it there. They have lots of video screens and TV monitors around where heavy metal videos are being played, which is awesome! Plenty of long solid thick wood tables to sit at for large groups, which is great. Also lots of pub tables that sit high. They also have outdoor seating for those warm summer evenings. They have a couple of pinball machines there which we played after ordering our food. Even a can holder on the side to hold your beer while you are being a pinball wizard. They have lots of their own special craft beers on tap that they brew themselves . In fact, one of them was so good that I bought a four pack of it to take home with me! The service there was great. The two guys that were there were very friendly and helpful. One of the guys' names was Kevin and he was very personable, however, both the guys were really awesome! Now for the good part..the pizza! We ordered two medium pizzas. One medium taco pizza, and one medium double pepperoni pizza. The double pepperoni pizza was hands-down the best pepperoni pizza I have ever had. You could actually taste the garlic in the crust, which doesn't happen with other pizza places. Th Taco Pizza was also fantastic as well. Our family of three dang near eat both pizzas. We had just a few slices left over to take home and enjoy plus the four pack of their specialty craft beer that I bought. We will definitely be returning again!
