I don't come in here very often, only when I have some business in the building, like arranging a gig in the Assembly Hall upstairs.
It's a student place, so don't be expecting high standards of decor. It's mostly long tables with benches, with a few smaller ones and some comfy sofas around the edges of the room.
The menu is, as you would expect for a student cafe, very reasonably priced and has moderately good veggie choices. The bar has a goodly selection of decent beers, again at reasonable prices.
The coffee, I have to say, is amongst the worst I've ever tasted. A cup of instant would have more flavour than the swill they are passing off as an Americano. I really must remember to stop ordering one when I visit!
The gender-neutral toilets are in the basement, and the less said about those the better. But they function. read more
