This is a far more effective method than a traditional sauna. Traditional saunas use mind clogging steam to heat a room. The hot air in turn heats your skin. Unfortunately for traditional saunas, the heat only warms the outer layers of skin. The body feels almost no heat deep within. If you were to attempt to feel the same penetrating heat from a traditional sauna you would have to remain inside the steam room for over an hour.

I did enjoy that we were instructed to take our socks off (as opposed to caves that ask you to keep socks on), as much as it felt odd at first, I feel like I got more of the salt's benefits by having my bare feet in it. The staff were as accommodating as could be, and they managed to work me on for a 30-minute massage with the wonderfully talented and gifted Kathleen! She was exceptional at diagnosing things and helping me work through the pain in my neck and other things I didn't even realize were troubling me! Additionally, the accommodations are lovely! The setting is very calm despite being at a busy corner of West Stadium. There were a few other people in the spa at the same time, but not so many that it felt intrusive or crowded. My experience started with a massage. It was relaxing but not up there with the best massages I've gotten around town. Next came the infrared sauna, which was probably my favorite part. With relaxing music and heat all around, I was able to zone out and enjoy myself. The float pool was next. I liked the waterproof headphones to listen to zen music as I floated, but the air temperature kept the parts of my body that were above water pretty chilly. I ended up cutting that part short as a result. Overall it was a good experience. I wish their parking were better marked (I parked in a lot to the left of the building as you're looking at it from the front). I also felt like the scheduling process was a little informal and unprofessional. I called and instead of returning my call, I got a text message back with informal grammar "Texting u from Bloom wellness" - it came off as sloppy.

Nope, $42 and I didn't even break a sweat after 45 minutes. It would've been nice to know there was the optional shower afterwards and that Bluetooth was an option and the price upfront. The place I usually go to offers an introductory price so you can try it out and not be out too much if it's unsatisfactory. I'll definitely be going back to my usual place.
