I had an appointment with Ellis Ve for nail extensions with art. At the beginning of the appointment, she was very nice and cordial like the previous time I booked with her. However, once she was "done" with shaping I told her there were some parts that were crooked and that the shape was not what I had asked- which was a sharper almond shape. She then proceeded to tell me that it was my nails that were crooked, and that the nail shape was difficult to do, despite her having done the exact same shape on my nails on August 7 of this year. She continued to struggle with the nail shaping and considered the attached photos the final product. There was significant overhang on the side of the nails, making it uncomfortable to use my hands. I had to come home and reshape them myself. When I told her the nails on both hands didn't match length, she told me "there is nothing I can do about that". The right pointer finger nail was about half an inch higher than my left point finger's nail and had no shape; my right pinky nail is about the same length off. I informed her of this but was told there is a "formula for nail length" even though the nails didn't match on either hand. Toward the end of the appointment, she said something that was so shocking I was left stunned. When discussing preferred nail shapes, I disclosed I do not like the round or oval shape. Before I could explain why, she volunteered "I can't see you with those nails, they are maybe too classy for you," then proceeded to chuckle at her quip. That was possibly the most wildly unprofessional and rudest comment I have ever received. During my last appointment with her, the topic of my children was brought up. I showed her a picture of them and she said "what does their dad look like? I'm assuming they look more like him," I then showed her a picture of my husband, who is a lighter skinned black man. Moments later, a dark skin black man walked into the salon for his appointment. She then asked "oh are you her husband?" In the moment, it was just a funny mix up, but now both of the incidents combined paint a different picture. Ellis knew I was going on a week long vacation and still found it acceptable to leave my nails practically unfinished and clunky. She finished out the nails and the design, as you can see is rough and ready, but she did inform me she was not the best with nail art. It was so bad, that at the end of the appointment as I was walking out the door, she said "if you do not like them, please don't take them off yourself, just come back in and I will take them off for free." She ignored or dismissed all my requests for retouches, and still allowed me to walk out with ridiculous looking nails. What is inexcusable is the shaping of the nail and the unprofessionalism. This is a luxury service with luxury prices and I do not appreciate being judged when I walk in. On a separate note, one of the other technicians, Daniela is amazing. Her pedicures are the best I've ever gotten and I've been getting my nails done since I was 13. read more

I decided to try Vibar for my birthday after a friend had recommended them several times. I am SO happy with the results! Tonya did hard gel over my natural nails -- they were damaged from a previous acrylic set from another salon, and she was really careful with them, always asking if something hurt or if I was comfortable. Her attention to detail while doing the Russian manicure was really impressive, I enjoyed watching the process. I originally came with a design in mind, which she did, but she also showed me some little designs she could add to make it pop. I loved it! I will definitely be coming back. Love coming to this salon. I have gone to so many different nail salons in Pensacola over the years and was always in search until I found Vibar nails. This place has outstanding service. They are very clean, sterile. All nail equipment is disinfected and sterilized. They open a new sterilized packet with instruments in front of you. All filers are for one time use that you get to take home. At their salon I am never worried about my heath safety. Their manicure and pedicure techniques are a top notch. It looks like the cuticle was never existent . I have gotten manicures, pedicures and gel extensions done and always very pleased with the results. My nail tech Liza is the best. She always listens to what I'd like to have and provides. Also when I first got there over a year ago my nails were highly damaged from other place. I wanted extensions. She recommended that we grow my nails out before putting any pressure on my nails. We did an upkeep for a couple month until my natural nail was looking healthy and shiny again. I have never met such a caring nail professional like her. She never would do anything to potentially harm a nail bed especially when it's in bad shape. Mary gave me the best manicure I have ever had and for the last 30 years, I've had many. The basics: of course this place is hygienic, bright, cheerful. You must make an appointment. Call them at their general phone # or make an appointment with the person you want using the scheduling app on their website. I requested a "russian mani" which means your hands do not soak in water. That also means that your cuticles aren't manipulated when they are plumped up and wet but then when they've dried, peel or crack afterwards. Other things of note: Mary used a sonic (?) type of tool to gently shape my cuticles. But again, no water was used so my cuticles look amazing not just immediately after but also the next day. She used Mozart House polish which bonds better on the nail. It has more of a rubbery base so it holds on to the nail better. I hadn't had a mani in over a month. She spent an hour prepping, shaping and polishing. She is pricey but 100% worth it because this mani lasts and is the healthy alternative to a "regular" mani. Thanks Vibar & Mary! read more

I had heard about this place from a fb Womens group. I already knew walking in they were appt only. All I went in for was to try to schedule an appt with a person for the following wk and ask ?s to make sure they could in fact do the nails I wanted. Instead I was talked down to. This isn't my first rodeo lol. I had pics to show she barely glanced at them. I just need to to know a time frame and an estimate. All she kept referring to was making an appt online. 1. You need someone who is not actively working on nails or delegate to someone every 2 hrs or so anyone walking in with ?s you help them. I wasn't wanting my nails done that day... but if you want me to spend $$ I got ?s. Plus I've never had to pay to get prior nails removed. Or if I was it was lumped in my sum. So again this if you looking to get a set $60 minimum plus art apparently is $30 plus more plus $15 to remove old nails. You're looking at 2.5-3 hrs in the chair and $100 plus if you want something "cute" 2. If you're visiting for the first time it's a small place and getting to the location is tricky. 3. This review will be for the Henna Eyebrow Service. Me and my sister came in to try this service out for the first time. Upon entering, we weren't greeted which made it feel unwelcoming. Which is not a good feeling going to a new business you never been to before. The nail artists that were busy with their clients just glanced at us until who I figured who was Arra (esthetician to do our service) approached and asked to see if I was next on her schedule. I said yes, gave her my name, and she immediately got her station ready. With her prompt service, it was a breath of fresh air. Very displeased with my pedicure and manicure. After spending 2.5 hours having two people work on me laying down in a lounge type chair, I was anxious to leave. I was going on vacation that week and didn't have time to go to my regular person and thought I would get an "upscale" pedicure. I was told by the girls that worked on me that their mani's and pedi's last a month or more. One week later I had the gel polish come off my entire nail. Disappointed, I spoke to the owner who agreed to redo my nails. She made an appointment for me and I walked in later that same day to find out she was "on vacation". The owner agreed to look at my toes and how they were done but yet wasn't there to do that or manicure. I opted to just have the gel removed. Well today, a month later, I'm finally able to get another pedicure and it took my normal nail person a long time to get the thick gel polish off. When we did we saw a fungus on one toe! I've never had a fungus ever in my life. My normal nail tech said my nail wasn't smoothed out and water got under the nail. So not only did I pay $175 for a manicure and pedicure. I got a manicure that lasted less than a week and a fungus. read more

I went in on the referral from my hair salon. They do a "dry" pedicure with products from Russia. It takes longer than a normal pedi but the tech that did mine did an awesome job on the gels. She did some cool artwork and two weeks later all is still good. That said, I do not recommend getting your eyebrows threaded here. The first time, the the tech (a different person than the nail tech) did fine, although i heard all about how I was her only client that day and she really prefers her clients to book on Thurs or Friday, which are her busy days. I work so that is not possible. The second visit was also on a saturday, late in the day. Again the technician said I was her only client, and she had a full schedule on Friday. How is this my issue? She was impatient and in a hurry to leave. If you do not want Saturday customers then do not accept Saturday appointments. On top of listening to the complaints, when I left my eyelids were bleeding and were scabbed over for several days. In the decade I have been having my brows threaded this has never happened. Mani/pedi for sure! Beautiful work. Threading not so much. read more
