I just went there for my very first pixel laser treatment with Dr. Humphries. The laser itself is…read moreactually quite painful. Having been visiting various spas lately thanks to Groupon, I'm now a little nervous about the level of care I'm receiving! For example, I wasn't asked if I was using acutane, breast feeding, pregnant, etc. Then the doctor did not do any kind of pretreatment to my face before using the laser. No wipe down or soothing gel. But I've never had pixel lasering down, so I'm not sure if she should have. I do know that before my laser hair removal and Botox there was pre-treatment procedures done. After the painful procedure, I was not given any follow up care instructions. The doctor asked if I had any questions, but honestly I didn't know what to ask. Luckily, online I found a pre and post treatment guide from another spa on how to treat my skin. Apparently it should be treated like an open wound! Also, what is the deal lately with these doctors who didn't specialize in cosmetics doing cosmetic procedures?! Dr. Humphries is a pediatrician and my laser hair removal doctor is a gastroentonologist . I usually follow my gut about a spa by looking at a place's website. I went against my instincts to go to this med-spa considering the website is poor at best. The reason I over ruled my instincts is that pixel is extremely expensive, and I couldn't beat the price here. I just hope my face doesn't suffer as a result. Follow up (2 weeks later): Yes I paid for two up front. My face did recover properly after the first treatment. The second treatment I brought ointment and used ice to numb my face...this helped a lot! But the second time was much shorter and she seemed to miss spots... I just really hope I'm not throwing my money away and that this is the real deal...

The Dr. was beyond rude and what I can only explain as combative. He verbally blamed me for being…read more"late" (in reality, right on time) and told me it's the reason there were 2 other people waiting behind me (1 of who was a walk-in who came in right after me, and 1 who came very early for her appointment actually) as he tried to pressure me into something I still had questions on. I walked out and would never give this man my business, even if it's a more economical option. Virtually no concern for clients. It's very clear to me that this Dr. went through school solely for money. He's very condescending and it's obvious he thinks his patients are dumb asses. He also stated that they weren't there to "rape" people (in a monetary sense.) I have a real problem with someone professional talking to their patients this way and I find it improper.
