While it's a bit of travel outside of Paris, I do highly recommend if you have the time to travel to Reims for the Veuve Clicquot's champagne tasting and tour. The tour is about 30-45 minutes and then the tasting is about another 20 minutes. They offered 4 tastings and one being only produced and sold in France. The cellar does get cold so regardless of weather I would encourage you to take a light jacket or top to wear in the cellars. They also have a pretty cool gift shop and have an assortment of items! They also sell various bottles as well as their registered items. The tour itself was so interesting, i highly recommend!!

This one has been on our bucket list for quite some time. As a lover of all things Veuve Clicquot we could not wait to see where it all started. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and led us on a fantastic tour of the caves. Afterwards, we purchased a couple of bottles and then had lunch on the terrace. A fantastic burger and french fries was just what we needed. Hilarious story, after leaving here we took an Uber to the statue of Dom Perignon and unfortunately forgot two of our bottles of champagne there on our way to our next stop. I guess it was just a tribute to the father of all things sparkling.

Hands down my favorite champagne house to visit. Everyone was so welcoming and you immediately feel at home here. The tour was both informative and fun. We toured gardens and cellars. Had a fun sensory experience where we had to try and guess scents. The tasting itself was underground and delightful cheeses were paired with your tasting. Gift shop had a lot of cool souvenirs to take home to your friends The cafe attached allows you to sip more champagne outside. There was no wait, which was a relief. You need to try the burger. It was the best one that I've had in France yet. The bun was soft and the burger was so juicy. Everything blended together incredibly well. Fries could have had a teeny bit more salt, but we're still one of the freshest and best I've had here. Wish I could go again tomorrow! Definitely worth the trip.

I truthfully cannot forget this unforgettable experience....it was worth every penny and even the struggling journey to get to it from Paris to Reims. From start to finish, it felt like stepping into a world of legacy and craftsmanship. The tour through the cellars was mind blowing. Seeing the endless reserves tucked away beneath a huge brown door gave me a whole new appreciation for the process. It's one thing to enjoy a glass of Veuve Clicquot, but to walk through the very heart of where it all begins was absolutely magical. Our guide, Justine, was the real star of the show. Born and raised in Reims, she brought such depth and insight, not just into the process of champagne making, but also the citys empowering history. Her passion and knowledge made the entire experience feel personal and elevated. The tasting at the end was phenomenal. We sampled exclusive and refined bottles that I'd never seen before. And of course, that was their secret weapon because after tasting, how could I not shop when they led us straight to the store. Justine was incredibly helpful in guiding me to the perfect bottles, even pointing out a special reserve made in my birth year. I was stunned and once I saw that the price was reasonable, it was a no brainer that I had to have it. Her genuine excitement and shock made the moment even more special. When we were in the store, Justine made us feel very welcomed, guiding us through the selection with genuine enthusiasm. However, her counterpart initially seemed off putting to my partner and I. There was a clear shift in attitude when they realized we were planning to purchase a significant amount of merchandise. It felt uncomfortable, almost as if we weren't initially seen as serious buyers based on our appearance, which had an unfortunate undertone. Thankfully, Justine's warmth and professionalism helped make up for the awkwardness. And he also seemed a bit apologetic about it towards the end. What truly stuck with me was learning the history of the brand and discovering the powerful woman behind it all. I had been pronouncing it wrong this whole time, but now I say it with pride knowing the legacy I had the honor to learn. I only wish we had more time to linger. The space has areas where you can soak in the vibe and beauty of the grounds. Unfortunately, we had one of the last tours of the day, so the café was already closed. Still, it didn't take away from the epic experience. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

First, there appear to be two primary listings for Veuve Clicquot, so this will include the crayeurs AND the cafe. That being said, Veuve Clicquot is a massive champagne winery with a fascinating backstory. I won't get into that here, but, if you take a winery tour, you will hear about it. There's actually a movie on Netflix detailing it as well, but the winery points out what they got wrong. Anyway, this place is easy to get to, either from Reims itself, or on a day trip from Paris. From Paris, you could take a bus, or take the TGV (45 minutes to an hour), from Gare de l'Est (be sure to validate your ticket before you board!). If traveling locally, if you have a vehicle, they have lots of parking in their lot across the street. Once you arrive, check in at the front desk, then they will direct you where to go. Be on time - seriously, you're super rude for something like this if you're late. They will try to accommodate you if you are, but just plan extra time. Anyway, where you go after checking in depends on which tour you booked, and there are several options. Your level of booking will impact the champagne you taste at the end, but my guess is the tour is relatively the same regardless. You start the tour with a quick video and intro to the tour guide, then it's off to the cellars. The cellars are actually crayeurs, or old chalk mines from way back. These cellars are deep, hence dark and cool, which makes them ideal for making champagne. While on the tour, they'll discuss the history, the technology, the craft, and so on, all in different chambers of the crayeur. Interestingly, Veuve Clicquot actually invented a technique that revolutionized champagne making at the time, a process that is still done today (though via much more modern methods). They do two to three tours at a time, so if one crowd gets rowdy, I can see how that would get loud, as others have said in other reviews, but it was not an issue on my tour. The culmination of the tour, and probably also the loudest part, is the tasting. Again, depending on what you booked, you will have varying levels of quality. This part is particularly fun, and the tastings are delicious! They provide lots of detail about the wine, how it's aged, its flavor, and so on. It's very interesting, and even more so if you're a fan of the brand. After the tasting, you return back to the main building, though a different entrance than you left. They do have a boutique with lots of great items, including some famous vintages (such as 2015), so it's definitely worth taking a look. If you feel so inclined, grab a bottle of La Grand Dame, then hit up the cafe outside (which is a different review). The cafe itself has plenty of seating, both covered and uncovered, so it can be a great place regardless of the weather (though uncovered is more limited). They don't have a large menu, but that's good, because what they do have they do extremely well. We had the pasta and the burger, and both were fantastic! And since you're at the Clicquot winery, you have plenty of options when it comes to beverages. The service was incredibly attentive, primary from two or three guys who were handling everyone. Quite impressive, actually. As for the timing, we basically started our day with this tour, at 9:30/10:00 AM, and by the time we finished, we were ready for lunch, and this made for a fantastic stop. Definitely recommend before heading back out on your trip if you have the time. Overall, this place is really quite amazing, and they've got things organized incredibly well. If you can only choose one or two tastings in your time here, this would be a solid one to choose.

What a great experience! I enjoyed visiting Verve Cliquot in Reims, as it's located in an area that you can enjoy and the tour was very informative. I loved the rich history, the friendliness of the host, and the sampling at the end. They were more welcoming than some other champagne houses in the area. We had a great time.

This was at the top of my list of most exciting things we did while in France. Seriously so cool and such a special experience. The whole place is gorgeous and learning how true champagne from Champagne, France is made is something I will never be able to forget. I've always been a big fan of Veuve and the staff working there are so knowledgeable and friendly. Even on a rainy day the grounds still looked so bougie and inviting. They have a fun gift shop to check out and find souvenirs to take home. I highly recommend making a stop here! Warning- the cave tour does include a fair amount of stairs up and down.

I did the "Only one quality, the finest" tour and it was a great experience. The cave walkthrough was very interesting and thorough. I came in with very little knowledge about the house and left with a good understanding of both Veuve Cliquot's history and the champagne industry at large. We sampled four champagnes, which I believe to be a good value when combined with the 1.5h tour for €70. It was interesting to taste champagne with a knowledgeable sommelier who points out all of the nuances in flavor. Overall, I would highly recommend this experience.

We had the widow Veuve tour and it was wonderful. W lot of interesting history and a wonderful tasting at the end. The cellars were cool too (bring a sweater). After we shopped at the gift shop and took some champagne home. Loved it.

This is where the magic starts!! After consuming 100's of bottles of VC over the years it was a great pilgrimage. The tour was interesting and perfunctorily presented, but the caves were fascinating. The tasting at the end was fun and it's always a kick to eavesdrop on "experts" that mostly turn out to be Americans expound on the merits of VC. The real kick was the restaurant. On the verge of a Michelin star, but service was great. The food fantastic and access to the best bottle Grand Dame was a wonderful way to counter the commercialism of the Pommeray tour.

    Outdoor seating by the vines
    Leslie L.

The ambiance is great. Cute outdoor seating by the vines, cabana seating in front close to the entrance. They served food as well as champagne and coffee. Tasting is €50 a person for 3 different type of champagne. Make ressy for a tour and for private table spot by the vines. Cheers

I had no idea what to expect from the Veuve Clicquot Cellar, and somehow still my expectations were exceeded! We booked a Solaire Icon Vintage tasting tour, which was a perfect jam-packed hour-long deep dive and interactive journey through the Maison's history via the chalk cellars where Champagnes are stored, and aged still today. It was an incredibly well-produced experience and it really brought the Champagnes to life. Especially because the tour guide was so enthusiastic and such a great storyteller. By the end of the tour I was so pleased I could have left without doing the actual tasting....but the tasting is what really set this over the top. We got to blind taste a vintage and the Yellow Label and discuss the differences as a group. Any and all questions we could think of were happily answered by our tour guide. Even exiting through the gift shop was particularly exciting. I loved this tour and I would recommend it to anyone who is interesting in Champagne's history in France and of course Veuve Clicquot.

    Walking into the chalk cellar

I will preface this review to note that I am a big Veuve Clicquot fan. This was our first visit to the house and we did the chalk cellar tour - 90 minutes for €55 which includes two tastings - and had a great time (there is also free on-site parking). We had our 6 year old son with us and found the tour to be family friendly (he even got juice when we did our tastings). Our guide was excellent and while the tour started out telling you everything you could read on Wikipedia, there was much more depth added as the tour went on. At the end, we were able to visit the gift shop to pick up some items which was also nice. Outside they have trailer where you can order different glasses to sip, along with a foosball table. Highly recommend!

The place was buzzing and after initially being told that they were full, the owner ran after us as we were leaving and offered us a table. This wine bar is an absolute gem. Not only were we warmly welcomed but we had an amazing wine tasting paired with a delicious charcuteries/cheese plate, melt in your mouth meatballs, mini sardines. The real Stars of the experience were of course the wines. We went By the glass, starting with a delicious Philliponat brut Champagne, an Alice Corton, and then a Cotes du Rhône. If we come back to Reims, we will definately call ahead to make a reservation, or get down on our knees to beg for a table.

We also got the Mont d'Or: a baked rind cheese served with a baguette, roasted potatoes and salad. It was luxurious. The cheese was enclosed in a wooden basket and when baked turned molten in the middle while the rind became cracklingly crisp. Wow! I suggest their cote du bouef. Others ordered it, a huge platter of melting cheese, beef, roasted potatoes and more. Oh and dessert we had a duo of crime brûlée (vanilla and pistachio) which came with crime brûlée ice cream on the side. The staff speak French and were happy to help even though they were so busy.
