We hired Vet's Move Junk to clear out yard waste from a breakdown project: wood of various sizes, turf, rocks, and a large amount of leftover screws and nails from our project. DeAndre and Ulises were so nice. They arrived on time, communicated well before arrival, walked us through the process, and were genuinely kind throughout. They wrapped up in about an hour and a half for $750, dump fees included. It's hard work and they hustled. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart after they left. When we brought our two young daughters and our dog out to play, we found debris spread deep into the grass during loading, covering roughly 15 ft by 5 ft. The area was full of sand mixed with glass shards, rusted nails & screws, and other debris that is simply not safe around children or pets. My husband and I spent over two hours with a shop vac, yard vac, and on our hands and knees pulling out glass and nails. Even after all that, we've decided to tear out that section of grass entirely. At this point it's like finding a needle in a haystack, and the risk of finding one in a child's foot or a pet's paw is not worth it. We specifically chose this company to support a veteran-owned small business, as many of our family members have served. That's what makes this outcome sting a little more. Two simple fixes would go a long way for future customers: lay tarps between the work area and the truck, and run a magnetic sweeper over the job site before leaving so few nails or screws get left behind. Efficient, professional, and reasonable cost, what more can you ask for? Filled out the interest form on their website to schedule a visit and received a text confirmation as well as updates on the day of. A month ago my father passed away in the South Bay Area and I needed to clear a lot of things from the house during this difficult time. As a vet myself, when I saw the truck on the road last week, I was proud to call and schedule an appointment. I spoke with a person and booked the appointment. I texted with another person at the company and confirmed my window was 12-2 for today. This morning my wife and I had to urgently take a family member to the hospital in Newport and I called the junk removal company to ask if I can make todays appointment closer to the later half of the time window so we can make sure we get to my dads house in time to meet them. The receptionist said she would let them know. We leave the hospital in Newport and head to the house. 20 minutes later I get a cold text telling me the appointment is canceled. It's been a difficult time not just since my dad passed but also helping other family members who are I'll. I thought I could rely on a company build on the brotherhood of veterans who always show up for each other, but the way the cancellation happened was appalling. No excuse, just canceled. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they transferred me to a voicemail. Some time later, i got a call from someone who said they would come by anyhow and give me an estimate even though it was their day off. Disappointed I wasted my time on coordinating and believing this company when they gave me a pre quote on two straight forward items. I requested a quote on a queen size mattress and the bed frame. The man told me it's anywhere between $98-$148. I agreed and said that's perfect because I didn't want to waste my time or theirs having them come if it was a hundreds. When they came to quote one of the guys smelled like weed and was nodding off in the elevator ride up to my unit. When they saw the two items they quoted me over $400 to have it removed. To my surprise, Nathan and Shaun arrived a few minutes early and were ready to start as soon as I confirmed the pricing, which was a free, no-obligation estimate. In less than an hour, they quickly cleared out my backyard, garage, and two-bedroom apartment of all the remaining trash I needed to discard. And all I had to do was sit back and direct them on what to take or leave. I seriously thought that this was going to take a few hours and they finished it all within 45 minutes.
