Unlike the "people Doc" they even give you the medicine and cut the pills in half when necessary. If I could get treated here I would, but for now I guess we'll just keep bringing our dogs.

I had tried to book an appointment online, but it didn't go through. When we showed up in person, the staff was very understanding and still worked us in right away. They were kind, patient, and clearly experienced with animals. The vet took the time to examine our turtle and explain what might be going on with him. I really appreciated how calmly they handled everything and how they answered our questions. It made a stressful situation feel much easier. We'll be picking him up tomorrow at 11 a.m., and we're very grateful for the care they've given him so far.

When we moved back here with our little princess, Jasmine, I hated to leave our vet. We took her to…read morea vet closer to our house for her shots and they were okay. Okay just isn't good enough when it comes to our baby. When it came time to board her for a weekend trip, we called Greenbrook. I was impressed from the minute we walked in the door! The place is tastefully decorated and very clean. It doesn't smell like wet dogs. Ms Kay, one of the vet techs, came out to pet her and kissed on her, and Jasmine warmed right up to her. They gave her time to get comfortable with her surroundings, and get to know her, before taking her back. They let us walk her back and see where she would be staying. We felt very comfortable leaving her there. We returned again when little Houndini broke her crate and tore a ligament in her hind leg and cut her belly up in the process of her great escape. Again, they were absolutely wonderful with her, and took the time to explain her injuries, care, and healing to me. Dr. McCain took the time to explain that some adopted pets never get over their abandonment, and suggested things that could help her. After she won the battle of the crate, and I gave up on trying to keep her in it, I called them in a panic after I came home to a chewed up bar, shredded sofa, pillows and trash all over the den. They recommended a Thunder Shirt to calm her, and also called another patient for recommendations on a pet sitter. The Thunder Shirt didn't work at all. A few days later, Kay called to follow up with us. Although I sincerely appreciate that, it's not feasible to take her to daycare every time I need to go to the grocery store or out to dinner. Their refusal to treat the anxiety with medication makes me wonder how many of their patients have wound up in shelters because parents can't deal with the destruction, and I can't bear the thought of how she must feel every time we leave her. I'm holding out a star based on that. We just returned again for shots. Ms. Kay still loved on her, and Kevin was great with her as well. I can tell Jazzy really likes Dr. McCain by the way her little tail starts wagging as soon as he walks in the room. Shots were very reasonable at $93. They are super friendly and it's obvious that they really love animals. They're not just showing up to get paid. I think for a normal dog, this place would be a wonderful vet's office to use. Unfortunately, with the severity of Jazzy's separation anxiety, which only seems to be getting worse, we're going to have to find a new vet who is willing to treat it.

I think I started off at 19.99-month and ended up paying around $39.00 @14 years of age for my last chihuahua!! The savings were colossal!! A lot of things I would never have had done!! And injuries of my injuries i saved over $3,000 when he pulled his hind leg while chasing a squirrel. She's 12 so we watch her close these days and probably panic when not necessary. Anyway we took her in and found out after being examined that she she had a rapid growing mass. The size of a softball. We were very thankful that our vet discovered this but she sent us to Memphis Veterinary Specialist for an ultrasound. We were also told that our doctor would be in Monday and Tuesday if we needed her, Well, we took her for the ultrasound and they said the results would be sent that afternoon. We didn't hear from our vet so I called and they told us she was out that day but she told us she would be in. so, I asked the the doctor that was in to please call me with the results. Nothing! No call! I decided to call Memphis Veterinary Specialist and after being placed on hold twice telling me the doctor would be with me soon called the 3rd time and asked the doctor to call. Never heard a word. So, for those of us that love our beautiful furry babies this isn't right! My baby has already lost her eyesight and a lot of hearing lost. We just want to know what the next step is and where this mass is located. Why is is so hard to make a simple phone to the parents that are so worried. I just don't get it!

Family man Dr. James Pearce and his staff do what they do for the love of animals, and for the love of responsible pet owners. They have done charity work for decades, helping adoption agencies with spaying and neutering, and occasionally take in their own strays to be passed on to their forever homes. Dr. Pearce has done extensive orthopedic work on the racing greyhounds, and works with the greyhound adoption agency as well. Prices here are competitive, and they typically don't run any tests they don't feel necessary. They do board pets at a reasonable price, though there are not the bells and whistles of the fancy pet hotels here. I have stuck with Dr. Pearce and his ever-improving, friendly staff through five or six dogs now, and always feel like we are in good hands. One dog I adopted came to us with heartworms, and then was cured by Dr. Pearce and lived another 14 years. Our recent rescue came to us with deadly parvovirus, and with several days of in-hospital care, he pulled through from the brink of death. Our little Christmas miracle! They encouraged us to come and visit him as much as possible, to lift his spirits (and I really believe it helped). The average parvovirus treatment runs around $3,000, from what I read online, and our bill was just over half of that. Christmas miracle #2!
