The place is very professional, clean and friendly. Dr. Sebestyen performed surgery on my french bulldog. He had a quarter sized mast cell tumor on his face. Our two year-old mini schnauzer was hit by a Amazon vehicle and his tarsal joint in his left rear leg was crushed. I took him to our regular vet and she did x-rays and said that that was beyond her training and she recommended that we take him to veterinary surgical specialist. The vet who worked on him is no longer there he retired however I have an idea that all the vets there are of superior quality, training, education and experience. The doctor saved our dogs leg! Dr. Peter Sebastian was phenomenal with DUKE and the staff was amazing. We have a very vocal two-year-old GS. We were referred to Dr. Sebastian veterinary surgical specialist for Dukes Uninvited Anconeal Process. Medial Coronoid Disease. Surgical Procedure: Arthroscopy ( Unilateral Elbow. ) It was very easy to get an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Sebastian and appointment for Dukes surgery Was the following week. The building is very impressive and clean. Everybody was professional and kind and empathetic Dr. Sebastian is one of the best and understands and knows dogs, specially GS. The day of surgery drop off was 6 AM and the sweet gal greeted us and reassured us. He's in good hands and took DUKE back. We received text messages when DUKE was being prepped for surgery, going into surgery. Dr. Sebastian understands that German Shepherd's are accessible to Malignant Hyperthermia which means DUKE had a clean OR room, which I so appreciate! Because I do have Malignant hypothermia very rare one in 1 million for humans. Very common in German shepherds. We received updates and I could check in on DUKE at any time and I asked if I could see a picture of him and she says oh he just quieted down, but she said I'll try to see if I can sneak and get a picture, and she did and I cannot thank her enough. It warmed my heart and put me more at ease. DUKE came through surgery beautifully and the two pieces of loose bone were removed that never did grow correctly from developing in the womb. We went back today on June 14 for a suture removal and Dr. Sebastian remove the sutures no problem and he liked the bandage I purchased for DUKE on AMAZON. I asked Dr. Sebastian would you like me to send you the link to the bandage, and Dr. Sebastian said I'd like that very much, so I also sent Dr. Sebastian the link to the wrap I purchased for DUKE, which stops him from chewing or licking or scratching it. I especially appreciated the discharge papers online and in person. The DC Papers are amazing. I encourage everyone to read the discharge papers before picking up your pet they will answer every question you have so detailed. I truly appreciate the information so clear so helpful and we're still on the road to recovery which means DUKE is still quiet and down And he is the best patient. I truly believe DUKE read the discharge papers before I did.!! Thank you Dr. Sebastian and your team for taking excellent care of Duke.! Dr. Thomas Keeshen and the entire team at VSSOC gave my cat, Stormie, her life back. We traveled from Las Vegas, Nevada on July 25, 2025 for Stormie's TECA-LBO surgery consultation. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we were in the right place. Stormie was diagnosed with a rare ear cancer called ceruminous gland carcinoma at just 3 years old. Dr. Keeshen took the time to explain everything clearly, compassionately, and honestly. He never rushed us, answered every question, and helped calm an incredibly stressful situation. Stormie underwent surgery the very next day, due to Dr. Keeshen accommodating us being from out of state, which I am immensely grateful for. She had a TECA-LBO (Total Ear Canal Ablation and Lateral Bulla Osteotomy) which is a major and delicate surgery to remove her entire left ear canal and Dr. Keeshen performed it with incredible skill. He called me to let me know as soon as she was out of surgery to let me know everything went well. Her margins came back clean, her lymph nodes were clear, and today she is officially cancer-free, living her best life. I truly believe that Dr. Keeshen's precision, experience, and thoroughness made all the difference. I also want to deeply thank the tech staff and the overnight nurses. They treated Stormie as if she were their own -- checking on her, keeping her comfortable, and making sure she was safe and cared for around the clock. Knowing she was in such loving, attentive hands meant everything to me, especially being so far from home. I texted the overnight nurses multiple times during her overnight stay being an anxious mama, and I received a response each time that put me at ease. Even after coming home, I was able to reach the nurses through the text number with any concerns I had during her recovery. They also were able to send her prescriptions seamlessly to her home vet here in Las Vegas. This experience could have been terrifying, but instead we felt supported every step of the way. If you are facing a serious diagnosis or a complicated surgical decision for your pet, I cannot recommend Dr. Thomas Keeshen and VSSOC highly enough. This is an update from 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with how my dog, Emily's surgery went. I wasn't expecting the surgery to cost as much as it did. I was told that it would cost between 7,000-9,000 dollars. I ended up being charged 8,800.00 dollars. That is a lot of money for me and my husband. We don't have pet insurance and are both retired. My dog tore both CCLs and needed surgery right away. We were referred to this hospital by his regular vet and were able to secure an appointment the next day. After reviewing his X-rays, the team decided to perform surgery on both knees simultaneously, which is uncommon but necessary given the severity of the injury. Dr. Keeshan performed the surgery the very next day, and our experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we interacted with the front desk to when we left, we felt our dog was in excellent hands, and they took great care of both him and us. The only downside is that although you have an appointment, you may experience significant wait times (sometimes up to an hour) but we understand they are busy, and the quality of care they provide makes the wait worthwhile. It's been over 8 months since surgery, and our dog has recovered beautifully! My dog, Maggie (9yo GSD), has had chronic ear infections for 2 years, and we finally decided it was best for her to get a TECA. We were referred to VSS from her primary vet and dermatologist. The professionalism at VSS was first class from the first phone call, consultation, to vet techs, assistants, and Dr. Walker who performed the surgery. The TECA surgery seemed quite complex (in my eyes) for Maggie because the infection extended all the way into her cheek, confirmed by a CT scan that VSS performed. The surgery resulted in almost 7-8 inches of stitches from her ear to mid-cheek, when a typical TECABO surgery only has stitches around the ear opening. Maggie's recovery was not perfect, however the aftercare provided by Dr. Walker and team was top notch. They did not hesitate to schedule her in ASAP to recheck her sutures and how she was healing. We had several follow up appointments and she came back better and better each time. Before deciding to get a TECA, I researched day and night and was incredibly worried about how complex the surgery was, and how it isn't commonly done. But after the first consultation, I felt better because they mentioned they see it often and perform it quite often. All the doctors are Board Certified which also made me more confident in their profession. Maggie recently got her stitches removed after 3 weeks and she's doing amazing! From being in constant pain to no pain at all, she is noticeably so much more relaxed and happy now! VSS and team did an amazing job taking care of Maggie. We received updates right before and after surgery and even during the overnight stay of our pup. Everybody was empathetic and professional and the outcome was perfect. As a frenchie mom, surgery is scarier than ever. I went in for a consultation for BOAS & neuter for my boy, with Dr. Keeshen. The consultation was great, he was very thorough. He explained the risks, the recovery, what to expect. Fast forward two weeks, I dropped my boy off around 7am. I called a couple times to get updated before surgery. At 12 I got the text that he was going into surgery. At 1:18 Dr. Keeshen called me with the great news that my boy is awake and in recovery. He explained the next 12-24 hours are crucial due to post op complications. I called every hour up until 6pm, I was told I can text. So then I started to text every hour (may seem obsessive but I was worried) the nightstaff. They were all great, Julia, Kelly, etc. they answered every single text. Next morning at 9:30 I called and my boy was ready to go home. We are now home and in recovery! Thank you VSS for making this nerve wrecking experience a little easier on me. Communication was amazing and so was their staff. Cleanliness of the center shocked me! You couldn't tell it was for pets. Our Labrador retriever had been limping, and while we weren't sure of the extent of her injury, we were referred to this surgical office--and we're so glad we found them. From the very first appointment, Dr. Sebestyen was amazing. He used visuals to help educate us about what was going on, answered all of our questions patiently, and made sure we were fully informed and comfortable moving forward. When it came time for surgery, he personally called us before and after to walk us through everything. Once he got in, it turned out she had a full CCL tear and a mild meniscus tear--both of which he repaired. Dr Sebestyen is an outstanding surgeon. He surgically repaired our springer spaniel's rt anterior cruciate ligament two weeks ago. Her post op course has been great. She does need to be watched closely so that she doesn't exert herself but she has not been limping or showing any sign of pain. Eight years ago when she was only one year old he operated on both front shoulders with an excellent result. We have had two other dogs over the past fifteen years that Dr S. has operated on with similar excellent results. I highly recommend him. read more

It takes a team - and this one is terrific! This is the second time we've gone to VSS for surgery for our pup. We make the drive down from LA because they are the best! Dr. Cambridge is fantastic but it's also the entire team there that really takes VSS over the top. Every person who has answered an email, a call or walked into the room has been knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. It's always such a scary time when there's something wrong with our furry best friends, and to be met with kindness and compassion makes all the difference in the world. You can tell the whole staff really cares about what they do, and they've gone out of their way to put us more at ease. Another great part of VSS is they are also very responsive. It's always been easy to get in touch with someone to ask follow up questions (we normally have many.) From booking appointments, asking for updates post-surgery, or the "is this normal" questions that arise when we've gotten our dog home and settled, we've never felt like we'd fallen through the cracks like we've experienced elsewhere. I think I was most impressed with the. Veterinarian. I didn't wait long to see Dr. Sebastian and he was quick to get the x-rays done. I went there because I had two conflicting diagnoses from other veterinarians and I wanted to know whether I should have surgery done on my little Yorkshire terrier.
