From the moment I walked in, the entire team provided exceptional service and care. Luna and Sam at the front desk were incredibly helpful, and so patient with all of the things we needed, and also making sure we got in and to get our Boy seen. The technician Laura that helped us was absolutely amazing with all of our questions and anything we needed . Dr. Munchel was so amazing and caring with Ike it was so comfortable talking to her.. All staff and the doctor were remarkably and patient with us, taking the time to ensure everything went smoothly. I am completely satisfied with everyone at this clinic and highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my pup! JB

Our cat died in the ER at this hospital. We rushed her in for what initially appeared to be gastrointestinal distress. She was stable when we arrived, but overnight her condition deteriorated rapidly. Throughout the night, we were repeatedly told that her body temperature kept dropping after sedation and medical interventions began. We were left wondering whether her response to the sedation or medications may have played a role in her death. We understand that emergency cases can be unpredictable, but we left with many unanswered questions about the course of care. Ultimately, we went home without our beloved cat. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. Experiencing it this way, with uncertainty and unresolved concerns, made it even more painful.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care Furgus received at VCA Animal Hospitals Emergency Hospital. Walking in during an emergency is one of the most frightening feelings as a pet parent, but from the very first moment, we were met with such genuine kindness and compassion. The front desk staff was gentle and reassuring, and the medical team moved quickly while still making us feel completely supported. The veterinarians and technicians were truly amazing. They took the time to explain everything in a way that was clear and comforting, answered every question with patience, and treated Furgus with so much tenderness. You could see how deeply they care about the animals they help. That meant the world to me. Throughout our visit, communication was thoughtful and consistent. We felt informed, respected, and never alone in the process. In such a stressful moment, their warmth and empathy made all the difference. I am so incredibly grateful for the skill, compassion, and heart this team showed us. Furgus was in the best hands, and I will always appreciate the care they gave him. If you ever need emergency care for your pet, this is a place filled with truly wonderful people.

This Place did not give me a good feeling, it seem like a money pit, the Doctor at first was telling me that my dog who had a urine track infection would need surgery and that I might have to put her down, they said they needed to do test on her totaling over $2,000.00, where almost $800.00 just for medicine and then said that it was an infection and want me to keep my dog there for 2 day at a cost of $10,000.00. After reading a lot of the reviews, I have to agree, VCA is a Money Pit with over charging for there services, do not take you animal to this place unless you like to get ripped off

Her incision and stitches did not look right, and she developed open wounds, signs of infection, and significant discomfort. I contacted the office multiple times, sent photos, and brought her in for a follow-up, yet I was repeatedly told that everything looked normal and that she was fine. After continuing to raise concerns, I was finally told to take her to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. I spent the night there and was charged nearly an additional $1,000 to have her incision re-stitched. It was incredibly frustrating to have repeatedly voiced concerns, only to end up paying significantly more to address a problem I had been told multiple times was "fine." I expressed how unhappy I was with the situation and was told the medical director would contact me. I never received a call. More recently, I noticed a pattern on the whites of my cat's eyes and sent a photo to the office. I was told by the vet that it was not normal and that I should either bring her in or see a veterinary ophthalmologist. I followed their recommendation and went to the ophthalmologist they referred me to, only to be told after a 20 second exam that what I was seeing was completely normal. I still had to pay the office visit and exam fees. Between the complications from her spay, my concerns being repeatedly dismissed, the lack of follow-up from the medical director, and being unnecessarily worried and referred to a specialist for something that turned out to be normal, I've lost confidence in the care provided here. My experiences with Dr. Ramos and other veterinarians at both the primary care office and hospital have left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the level of care, communication, and professionalism was not what I would expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Dr. Kim was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also kind, patient, and reassuring when we needed it most. You could feel how deeply he cared about Monty and about helping us navigate such an emotional and overwhelming situation. We will never forget the dedication and skill that went into saving our boy. We also want to give a very special thank you to Katlynn, the lead veterinary assistant, who truly went above and beyond for us. I did not end up going with this service, but I felt it was necessary for me to write about what I was told on the phone call, and how I was addressed. I was already struggling with the decision. My 11.5 year old pup suddenly came down with pericardial effusion with a very poor, and short-lived prognosis. I had to make my decision with only a couple of days to research. When I called this place, it was around 4:00pm. I don't remember who was on the phone, but the woman who picked up made me feel like I shouldn't have been calling or that I was interrupting something. I get that we all have bad days in customer service jobs, and maybe this was just a bad day for this person. It was, however, one of the worst days of my life, and I still tried to be kind and reiterate my answers to her questions. I asked about specific verbiage on the website and to clarify what it meant, and I was met with something like "It is exactly as described on the website, did you re-read it?" and I was immediately taken aback. I was trying to get information on pricing, and how the procedure might go since my dog's physical condition was sensitive and fragile. She told me that if I was this concerned I should be going to an actual veterinary office to inquire, but that their veterinarians are very qualified to perform the procedure. Everything felt oddly defensive. I was having a hard time keeping my tears away during the call, and she kept telling me she couldn't understand me when I asked for a moment. Then, she told me if I wanted the doctor to come to my house right now, she'd need to charge me an insane extra fee. I understand after-hours fees, but we hadn't even gotten to appointment scheduling yet. I asked if I could think about it and get back to her, and she said yes, but I she would only hold my appointment slot for 30 minutes for the following morning if I wanted to do that. And, if she didn't hear back in 30 minutes. I'd have to call and reschedule a different day because the doctors are "very very busy". I felt like I was being rushed along without receiving much comfort or consultation, this is the first time I've ever sought-out an at-home pet euthanasia, so I was hoping for some guidance. Overall, this felt extremely callous, and I am so glad I went with a different service who made me feel cared for and were very accommodating and professional. The other service also fully articulates the fees they charge on their website with no hidden fees. Hard pass on this place; I see all these 5-star reviews, so hopefully my experience was just an anomaly.

My 54 lb Jindo does not do well with strangers, she is all bark but no bite. I was very anxious bringing her to any dog care but Wendy was willing to do an assessment prior to their stay. This was my very first time doing any sort of dog care so I was really worried about leaving them. They did really well and my other dog had so much fun (he's a social butterfly). The main reason I chose this place vs all the other dog boarding is because they offer a "home" living experience rather than a facility/warehouse. My dogs always freely roams the house and lays on our bed, couch, wherever they please so I wanted something similar and Wendy's house provided that. I couldn't bare the thought of them being kept in a narrow sleeping quarter locked throughout the day. Thank you for taking great care of my babies! August 11th The Day We Lost Louie…read more Our six-year-old French Bulldog, Louie, died from heatstroke just two and a half hours into what we were told would be a four-hour trial day at this daycare. We were told the purpose of the trial was simply to see whether Louie could get along with other dogs. We were never told that he would be taken to a dog park or participate in strenuous outdoor activity. We chose this daycare because the owner told us she owns a French Bulldog herself, and because the daycare had very good reviews. We trusted that our French Bulldog would be understood and properly cared for. What happened that day is something we will never forget. 9:00 AM -- We dropped Louie off for his four-hour trial. 9:30 AM -- Just 30 minutes later, Louie was taken to a dog park for outdoor activity without our knowledge. We had never been told that he would be taken off the daycare premises or to a dog park. The temperature that day ranged from approximately 77°F to 85°F. 10:18 AM -- According to the daycare, Louie vomited after the activity. We were not informed when it happened. 11:30 AM -- More than an hour after he vomited, we received a photo of his vomit. At the same time, we were communicating about payment and completing a reservation for his future stay. We were given no indication that Louie was experiencing a potentially life-threatening emergency. 11:45 AM -- We received a phone call telling us that Louie was not breathing. 12:00 PM -- Louie was pronounced dead from heatstroke. Our dog went into the daycare alive and healthy at 9:00 AM. By noon, he was dead. What is especially devastating is what we learned afterward. We were told that they had never seen Louie breathing so heavily before. We were also told that they had tried giving him water, but he was vomiting. For a French Bulldog, excessive panting, vomiting, and difficulty breathing in hot conditions can be serious warning signs of overheating and heatstroke. French Bulldogs are particularly vulnerable to heat because of their shortened airways and difficulty cooling themselves efficiently through panting. Yet during the critical period when Louie was apparently struggling, we received no immediate warning and no update about his condition. The owner was also not present at the daycare at the time. We later learned that she had a doctor's appointment, which contributed to a delay in communication. While the adults were dealing with schedules, appointments, and communication, Louie was suffering--and we knew nothing. This was supposed to be a simple four-hour trial to see whether Louie could socialize with other dogs. We never agreed to have him taken to a dog park in temperatures reaching 85°F. We never imagined that he would be subjected to strenuous outdoor activity in hot weather. We are devastated that Louie was placed in this situation while in someone else's care. We trusted this daycare because we believed they understood French Bulldogs. That trust was shattered in the worst possible way. Louie was in their care. We trusted them to keep him safe. We expected him to come home. He never did. Louie was not just a dog. He was part of our family, and we will never get him back.
