A memorial for yogi
January 2013 - March 2026
Thank You to everyone at V.S.S. that helped with yogi and for all the care and support you offered through the whole process. V.S.S. is one of the best emergency animal hospitals with one of the most caring teams we have ever met. we got there in the middle of the night with our 13-year-old chocolate labrador, Yogi.
Yogi had laryngeal paralysis (golpp), a horrible disease that should never exist in any pet. while we were alongside him for his last potty before bedtime, he lost all mobility and strength, and his hindquarters completely gave out. we had to use a thick blanket to gently carry him back into our house so he could be in the living room one last time. even though we tried to massage his legs, we realized he could no longer feel our hands. we immediately called v.s.s. and they were the most compassionate and caring place we have ever called.
from the moment we spoke on the phone to the moment we arrived, they were there for us. they sent techs out to our vehicle with a wheeled stretcher and even the doctor came out to be there for yogi. they did not rush us; they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and explained everything step by step with extreme passion and care. we knew this was the only way for yogi to no longer have to suffer. yogi made it to the age of 13 years, 2 months, and 3 days old.
Yogi has crossed the rainbow bridge. he is now in heaven with no more pain and no more suffering. we know that one day we will meet again, but until then, yogi, you will be forever missed and you will always have a place in our heart. thank you for all the awesome times we had together; you was my best friend from the first day we met and no one could ever take your place. you was truly a family member, not just a pet.
something i always said to yogi before we went to bed: he was a super awesome family member. we love you yogi, sweet dreams, we will see you later baby bear. now that you have crossed over the rainbow bridge to heaven, you was our four-legged angel on earth and you are our four-legged angel in heaven. when we get to heaven, we will see you again. read more
