In the past few months we have used them several times for all kinds of small electrical jobs we otherwise may not have gotten around to dealing with had Bobbie not been so wonderful to work with. We had an electrical mystery where random things seemed to stop working- Bobbie and the Sievert team kept working on it until it was all resolved. We couldn't be happier!!

I wish I could give Sievert a better review. I purchased a home on James Island and hired Sievert…read moreto completely re-wire the home while I was away for approximately four weeks and the work was completed before I returned to the house. Upon my return to Charleston, the following issues had to be addressed: 1. The fiber optic cable going into the home had been severed by the electricians who had pulled it out of the wall (versus properly unplugging it from the unit). AT&T had to have a service technician re-install the fiber optic cable the next day when I realized I had no Wi-Fi. 2. My heat wasn't working and I couldn't figure out why. After my husband went up into the crawl space the next day, he realized that the furnace's non-fused disconnect had been reconnected improperly (the 2-pole pullout had been reinserted upside down). 3. My dishwasher no longer worked. I called and reported it to the company. Sievert Electrical sent the same two-man crew who had done the job to fix this issue once we complained. The lead crew member told us that the dishwasher was old and needed to be replaced. Okay, sure. We spent $700 on a new dishwasher. Surprise, the new dishwasher wasn't working either. We found out that the problem was that two circuits (one of which was unused, the other connected to the dishwasher) had their neutral wires reversed. The new dishwasher worked immediately after the neutral wires were changed. So essentially we replaced a perfectly good dishwasher for no reason. (Of note, Sievert Electrical never responded to our email indicating we replaced the dishwasher and THEN found out it was an electrical issue, not a dishwasher issue). 4. Multiple electrical outlets had been installed sloppily and were either too recessed from the wall OR were sticking out of the wall such that there was a gap between the wall and the outlet covers. Sievert Electrical sent the same two-man crew to fix this issue once we complained and they fixed the problem. 5. All of the 3-way and 4-way switches were installed improperly and needed to be fixed so that one switch wasn't controlling the other switches (meaning that when I first arrived home, if one switch was in the "off" position, the rest of the switches wouldn't work). Sievert Electrical sent the same two-man crew to fix this issue once we complained. 6. The metal headboard of our bed was dented. Not a big deal because it is mostly on the back side of the headboard so it's not very noticeable when pushed back against the wall. But it would have been nice to have known about this issue before we walked back into the house for the first time in a month. 7. After the two-man crew returned the following week to correct some of the issues above, we noticed that several outlets which HAD been working were now no longer working. This time, Sievert sent a different crew to our house to take a look. They told us that the reason the outlets weren't working was because a wire came loose in a switch box that powered the room's outlets. They fixed the issue. We had a few estimates done for this job and Sievert Electrical was not the lowest. However, we chose this contractor because the gentleman who gave us the estimate was knowledgeable and personable and we felt very confident that the job would be done correctly after we spoke to him. However, given the number of issues we experienced, we would not recommend this contractor or at least not the specific crew who handled our job.

I had an issue with some circuits in my home office that was causing the blowing the breaker. I…read moretried troubleshooting it myself, and found the limits of my capabilities. I gave EES a call, and they scheduled an appointment the same day. They gave me diagnosis fees, and hourly rates over the phone so that I knew the general cost scope for the repairs. They gave me a time that they would arrive, and were right on time. The electrician was very professional, uniformed, and wore a covid mask. He came in and got to work, and had the problem whipped in no time. He had everything he needed to do the diagnosis, and fix the problem on the spot. I was really happy with the over all cost of the trouble shooting and repair work. I was expecting it to me more. It was very reasonable for the amount of time and effort put into fixing the problem. I seriously spent at least 3 Saturdays trying to figure this out myself, and I'm kicking myself for not just calling these guys sooner. If you are reading this, you know that it can be very difficult to find skilled professionals in the low country. I not only recommend this company, but while he was here, we talked about 2 other jobs that I will be using them for in the future. I was very pleased with the experience, and highly recommend this company. 100%

The AC at my residence was blowing warm air and was not cooling. When it did cool, the house could not maintain a constant temperature. The AC ended up running non-stop, 24 hours daily. I'm not looking forward to seeing what my electric bill is for this month. Josh arrived on Monday afternoon and was kind enough to wait for me until I got home. He called and asked me if my AC was on. I told him that the compressor or outside fan was running when I left the house that morning. When I checked my phone, I saw that the AC was running. During the course of the day, the temperature in my home had risen from 76 degrees to 80 degrees. Josh told me the fan outside was not turning, indicating that the outside unit was not operating. When I got home, the thermostat was reading 81 degrees. I left the door open to try and let the house air out. Reluctantly, there was no breeze on Monday. After thirty minutes with the door open, the temperature on my home thermostat had risen to 86 degrees. On Sunday, I applied a wet-vac to the two drain lines outside. Despite no water coming out of either line, the bottom line did start to drip again and the outside fan turned itself on. The air inside the house was still not blowing very cold. I tried turning off the unit and running just the fan, in case the coils had become frozen. After several hours, I turned the AC back on and put the fan in "auto" mode. Again, all I got was slightly cooled air. Luckily, despite the AC running constantly, the house cooled a slight bit after the sun went down or usually between 9:00 and 10:00 PM. Josh checked my refrigerant level, found it to be borderline low, and worked on my unit in the attic. To my delight, the compressor was still fine, as was the capacitor and coils. I bought the Lennox Signature Series AC new in 2021. Three years later, it needed a new compressor and 11 pounds of refrigerant. All the refrigerant that the AC had in it prior to the compressor crashing in 2024 had leaked out. Lennox provides a 10-year warranty on parts. Labor is additional. The cost of labor to replace the compressor and Freon amounted to an extra mortgage payment for me in 2024. I was just informed that parts for Lennox and Carrier are manufactured overseas and are often difficult to find replacement parts for. I was also told that it's not uncommon for a Lennox to have problems with the compressor or coil after just a few short years. In hindsight, I wish now that I had not let my brother talk me into buying a Lennox. I told Josh that I almost went to the hardware store on Sunday to buy some spray-on coil cleaner. He advised me to not spray anything on those coils or fins. Thank you for your professionalism and your prompt service PROS. I look forward to a long relationship with you.
