I had went a month in advance to go ask some questions. Security didn't let me in just to ask a simple question. Said you need appointment and gave me a paper to call. Also, a form to request a copy of a ss card for a minor. I called to get appointment for a copy of a minor ss card. I ask what do I need to request them. The person tells me the usual identification for a minor(passport, school ID, vaccines and birth certificate together). Not once said that there is a criteria for the ages. 0-4 you can use this and 4 and up you can only use this. Also, all documents that is medical has to be notarized and signed by a doctor. Today is my appointment. What a slap in the face I get when I show up with the documentation that the person on the phone TOLD ME!!!! Person at the window like huh. Yeah, none of this is correct and gives me a paper and tells me this and that. He asks for a iehp card. Only card from iehp is insurance card. On the paper it says they can take that so why did he ask for it, huh? Something else about it can't be issued more than four years!!!!!!! Side note. When the conversation is all done. He said he can help me all the way until 4pm. I told him I'll be back in 20mins. I don't live far. I get back he isn't at his desk but a lady. I let the lady know if she can notify the person that sitting there that I'm back. Nothing. Waited 40min seen people go to his window to be helped.

There is a vast discrepancy between how inmates are treated depending on if they are state or…read morefederal. While I can not address the state side, medical care for the federal section is substandard, bordering on being a liability, and they are not given the same opportunity to further education, library services or other "amenities" like soap, afforded to state inmates. While you can buy (if someone puts $ in your account), soap, shampoo and purchase food from the commissary in an attempt to supplement the poor quality served, these basic needs should be met through the prisons. And I use "supplement" the food lightly as for the most part it is high carb junk food with little to no nutritional value. The approved "care" packages you can order also have little to no nutritional value and should be reevaluated and replaced with something that holds true nutrition, especially considering the prices they charge for the junk food they sell. Inmates are rushed through meals not giving those at the end of the line adequate time to finish their food resulting in more nutritional lack. While the front personnel who deal with the public are courteous, some of the behind the scenes personnel seem to be a different story. Every person in there, regardless of if they are federal or state should be treated equally as a human being and afforded a level of respect, and be given adequate nutrition, healthcare and hygiene supplies. While I realize the feds only "rent space" from the county, their inmates should receive the same "advantages" as those on the state side, including the opportunity to further or continue their education and have access to simple things like the library as literally, there is nothing else to do. In regards to mental health, and physical healthcare, it can take weeks to get someone to see you, and with mental health they hand you a paper with suggestions to help you deal with the stress......suggestions like "start a garden, spend time with friends", etc. Seriously? These people are in jail. How about some real helpful suggestions? Having not dealt with the prison system before, I am appalled. Prison Law Office has filed multiple lawsuits to address these type of issues, including those occurring at this facility. It seems like changes are promised when someone is watching, but once eyes are turned, status quo resumes. Sad.....they could do so much better. I know prison is not club med, but basic necessities, proper nutrition, adequate healthcare and the opportunity to better themselves are afforded to those who are not even citizens in this country, how about using some of that $ to fix the problems in the jails....and that doesn't mean upgrading the reception area to look nice.

I have been to this facility to do many weddings and the deputies are always kind and considerate…read moreof the fact that being in jail doesn't change the fact that two people in love can still be married regardless of the situation at hand 9095894402 Forevermylove jail weddings

The…read morefence was pulled down and one suspect broke into our shop and stole as many high dollar tools as possible (these are the tools we need to make work and make a living. The other proceeded to drive a get away car up to the damaged fence and help his buddy load up tthe car. They were in and out in a couple minutes, but we captured them on multiple cameras. We didn't notice the break in until Monday morning and we immediately called the Sheriff's department. Deputy Gober was the deputy that arrived and took the report. To be honest I thought it was a waste of time and we were going to be out the thousands of dollars in tools. Deputy Gober said he was going to work with his partner and a detective and they will see what they can turn up. Less than 24hr later Deputy Gober had contacted us and let us know that they have the suspects in custody and we can identify and pick up our stolen tools at the Sheriffs's office. Thanks Deputy Gober and the Big Bear Sheriffs Department, you guys crushed it!!!

The chief of police where I lived there was charged with stealing 1500 guns from the department and received a felony conviction for that and got a 10 year suspended sentence. I talked with the wife of the Detective solely responsible for trying to locate all of those guns which most had been sold on the streets of our community. The wife told me All the cops would tell him he needed to get a different job and she cried when she told me this because her husband was being harassed by the other cops routinely. Not a group to be trusted by any means. You can't try to help them with information on this issue then you become the target because like one Sheriff there warned me everyone was connected meaning makers and the department. The best thing to do is not to try to make your community better by contacting them about anything.
