When you are in Inverness, Scotland, I recommend dropping by Victorian Market. It is located in…read morethe heart of the city, and it is the home to many shops and other businesses. Do not miss stepping into their Food and Drink Hall. When we were there, it was bustling with activity. Basically, it is a large food court that you would find in a shopping mall in the States only the Food and Drink Hall is better in my opinion. First thing, we did was to try and find a spot to sit. The place was packed! A kind gentleman gave up his table for my wife and I. Thank you good Sir!! There were about a dozen food vendors to choose from. We chose to try Blazin Pizza. What an awesome choice!!! Definitely the best pizza that I have ever eaten in the entire United Kingdom!! We visited July 2024, and they have probably left the Victorian Market by now. The owners were looking for someone to take over their spot at the Food and Drink Hall. Hopefully, the business that takes over makes great pizza too!! Wish we had more time to explore the Victorian Market. We did not have the time to spare to see all that it had to offer. Til next time!

We found our way to ZIZZI because it was right next to the apartment where we stayed in Inverness…read more And I'm so glad we did, because ZIZZI was great! I don't know how to describe the interior exactly, so I'll just call it rustic chic. A variety of different chairs around simple wood top tables. But each table was ornately set with large clear glasses, a wine bottle with the table number and wheat stocks(?) in it, a small candle, and vivid, brightly colored menus. And let's talk about those menus, shall we? So many tantalizing options. So many things just looked absolutely fantastic, and we were just a one couple, so we had a difficult time choosing between all of the different dishes. We started off with a Garlic Bombe. It was amazing. For drinks, we started with an Amalfi Sundown and a Limoncello Spritz. Those were both very delicious and refreshing. For our main dishes, we shared a Mushroom and Truffle with Burrata pasta (cause I have come to learn that you can never have too much burrata cheese), and a Pepperoni Campagna Pizza. These were unbeLIEVABLY good. We really didn't need any more food after all this, but they went and put a Baked Lemon and Black Currant Cheesecake on their dessert menu, and I'd never heard of that before. So naturally, I had to try it. It was fantastic, of course, and an excellent way to finish off our spectacular meal. The service was very friendly, and I was quite impressed by how fast everything came out. The place was hoppin', so that's just another indication that it's a good spot to grab a bite, when it's full of customers. We absolutely loved our visit to Inverness, and should we be fortunate to go back someday, ZIZZI would definitely be on our list of places to stop in for a meal.

The table was oriented so the seats sat facing directly into the setting sun and they never offered to lower the blinds, despite being literally blinded. They didn't clear the 2nd place setting which I HATE. No one offered me water. I ordered the strawberry mocktail which was supposed to be made with soda but tasted completely flat. For food I ordered the margarita pizza and I got a huge piece of cheese flatbread with 3 pathetic leaves of basil. Tasted as bland as it looked. I was in and out in about 25 minutes. I'd never come back.

The World Cup Game was on so it was lively and fun. I will tell you, this was some of the best seasoned food we had the entire time we were in the UK (two weeks). Finally we didn't feel the need to add salt to something. The flavor was just spot on. My husband had the beer steak pie with puff pastry, I had the Cullen skink, my son had a pizza (I can't remember if it was on the kids' menu or not) and my daughter had a Caesar salad with chicken, which she eats a lot at home and had been craving. Both the skink and the stew were perfectly flavored! The fish in the stew was tender and so was the steak in the pie. If we ever go back to Inverness, we will be sure to be returning to Johnny Foxes. Oh! And our waiter was wonderful! I don't remember his name but a young blonde man with a mullet kind of haircut. Thank you to him!

We dropped by for an early dinner and got seated right away in a booth. The menu is broadly pub fare, with a focus on burgers and a couple of more upscale dishes (including an excellent fried camambert). We split the camambert (panko crusted and served with a fig and onion jam); my wife had a vegan Scotch broth + house made bread + tomato & pesto bruschetta, while I went with the highland burger: haggis on top of 6oz of dry aged Angus beef. The burger was exceptional, with a deep and pleasantly gamey flavour while the haggis added some richness. Paired with a pint of a local cask ale (Cromarty Brewing Happy Chappy pale), it was as good as dinner as we could've imagined on our first night in the Highlands.

We had the pepperoni and Spicy beef pizzas and they were great! If you like thin crust, they were super . A little light on the cheese sonic you like lots of cheese and a thick crust, may not be your best choice. The reason for the rating is that it took us close to an hour to get our food. I'll take some heat as I should have spoke up earlier. Our waiter checked on us after about 40 minutes and was clearly distraught that we hadn't seen the food yet. About 15 minutes later, he came back and said it was almost ready. At the hour mark, I was ready to surrender and walk out. The manager showed up with the food, comped it and apologized for the mistake that he said he had made. All in all, still frustrating but the manager did his best to make it right. I would probably try another place first but the pizzas was great!

For a more authentic Italian with more options I would recommend Bella Italia. 4 pizzas plus soft drinks was around 61pounds which for me is a bit too much when it's only pizza. Can't complain about the flavors and quality though, that's why I give 4 starts. Would like to take 1 star and a half off them because of lack of options in the menu and price.. All the rest is spot on.
