Full disclosure: I am a Sales Manager at Vestals Catering. I started out coming in as a bride looking for a caterer for our wedding. I instantly fell in love with Fabiola, the food, and (Vestals' owner) Jordan's passion for serving people and the culinary arts. I knew during our tasting that Vestals was a special organization, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. I kept calling and emailing Jordan until he agreed to have me come in for an interview, and the rest is history! Vestals catered my wedding and everything was phenomenal. We had the following passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour: *Chicken N' Waffle Bites w/ Maple Butter (my hubby's fave!) *Crab Cakes w/ Remoulade *our Signature Bacon Wrapped Apricots *Pimento Cheese Tart (inside a homemade cheddar biscuit tart shell) We also had a GORGEOUS cheese and charcuterie display available all night, and signature cocktails with scratch-made bases. Our dinner service was in between plated and family-style. First course was a pre-set salad of mixed greens, strawberries, candies nuts, etc. with a shot glass of balsamic vinaigrette on each plate. Waiters then brought out a plated beef filet with chimichurri and Dijon aioli over ancho sweet potato purée with spring veggies. Along with the entrees, each table was given a platter of spice rubbed chicken with grilled peaches, and two types of Mac N Cheese: one a white cheddar with hatch chiles, the other with bacon and smoked gouda. Guests passed around these dishes and shared at their tables. For dessert, we had Jocelyn make us an elaborate display of the following bites: *Lemon Bars *Vanilla Creme Brûlée with Berries *Ginger Molasses Cookies *Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Tarts *Banana Cream Shooters *Strawberry Shortcake Shooters *Raspberry Cheesecake Bites Our late night snack were these really fun breakfast tacos individually wrapped in foil with homemade salsa in to-go bags. Absolutely first-rate business. This is the third time that Vestals has supported our summer leadership camp. We needed to feed 100 JROTC students at a remote military training camp for four days - each days beginning with a very early breakfast. Vestals did the catering for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding in early March. This was my first time to work with them, but it definitely won't be my last. I could not have been more happy with the overall experience of working with Vestals. First, they were recommended to me by a good friend who is also a top event architect/coordinator in Dallas. From the beginning, Aubrey made everything so easy, and stress free. She met me at the venue and we were in touch several times before the wedding. The dinner was amazing!! The food was delicious, the presentation was perfect, and the service could not have been better! My daughter must eat gluten and dairy free, and a lot of caterers do not want to accommodate that. Vestals Foods catered my wedding Sept. 15, 2013 and my husband and I were beyond impressed and blown away by the food, service, helpfulness and professionalism. As soon as we sat down with him at the tasting, we knew we were working with a man that loves his craft! Working with Jordan plan the food for the wedding was a breeze for a seemingly stressful task. From the tasting to the day of he was there to answer any and all questions. His responsiveness and knowledge made this seemingly stressful process so simple and easy. I cannot say enough about Jordan, Sheila, and their staff day of. WOW is where I would start! We didn't plan the amount of alcohol out well and ran out of beer and completely forgot to bring all the mixers and sodas. When Jordan informed us of this he had a solution and before you know it we had more beer and mixers. He and his staff saved the day. We planned on a buffet and when the food was served the wedding party already had a beautiful plated meal at their seat. The food was everything we remembered - AMAZING!! When speaking with people at the wedding, there was a comment raving over the food at every table! I heard multiple times, "The food was the best "wedding food" I have ever eaten!". We used Vestals for our son's rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious when it finally arrived at the tables. The wait staff were grossly under-trained. There were plenty of staff to serve the tables "family style" but there was about 5 minutes wait between delivery of the food items to the tables. Translated that means 10 minutes after the entrée arrived the second side dish appeared at the table. There were two entrees! read more

We recently had a party using Vestals Catering and some of our guests gave us feedback they would not use this catering company for their own future events. While the service was excellent, the food was (very) small individual appetizers. Our guests complained they had no idea what they were eating. Two appetizers tasted "dried out and stale" but the mini (and we mean mini) crab cakes were good. They provide exactly 1 piece appetizer per person. Who eats only one piece? From my perspective, a caterer should price appropriately to provide enough food (reasonably) for amount of people you tell them you are hosting. I feel like I was upsold. After we were provided price estimate (which included a $200 'Administrative Fee', and after we decided to use them, we were told by sales representative "If it were my party, I would have x amount of food." -- So our price went up. Well, isn't the caterer supposed to price to provide as if it is their party?? We feel $3,000 for 50 people cocktail party -- mini appetizers, bartender (we provided all alcohol, beverages and mixers) was high considering the variety and quality of food. read more

We used vestals for our wedding and were underwhelmed. The team is really kind and their hearts are in the right place, but I think they got too big too fast. We had some surprises the week before the wedding with costs, which should have been communicated to us in the original proposal, not at the last minute. The tasting was great, but there wasn't enough food for the actual wedding and we ran out, plus the communication around how that would work was very poor. They sent home the leftovers with a guest vs. the host, which was upsetting. The event was fine and the tasting was great, but our expectations weren't met. I did raise my concerns with the team and Jordan was nice enough to have a follow-up meeting with me. However, after promises to make it right, we never heard from them again. I was just researching caterers for a corporate event and came upon Vestals and skipped to the next option, as my experience with our wedding would not constitute me using them again or recommending them to anyone else. read more

Jordan at Vestals Foods handled catering for our daughter's wedding in September 2014. Let me skip to the punchline: fabulous! Now some details: we asked Jordan to come up with a menu that would satisfy the traditional beef and chicken eaters as well as the gluten free and vegan attendees. He came up with a brilliant approach that integrated the menu - no one felt as though they were given a special menu, and everyone got a terrific meal. The cooking felt light and healthy, and was completely filling. Also: Jordan put together a signature cocktail for us that everyone loved; many happy comments at the cocktail hour.
