So much to think about: can different cultural tastes be addressed, can a casual lunch of sandwiches and sides be taken up a notch, will plates and cutlery be of good quality to so that the meal won't plop over a valued client's lap, etc (!) and all being kept within a budget? Mike hit all my concerns with A+ responses. Not only were the meals great for the group of 40+, Mike was flexible with last minute changes, catering was delivered in a timely manner, and I could count on his professional customer service for the venue without me even attending. 5 Stars for Michael's Express Catering - my go-to caterer for service, creativity and quality in food items, and Mike's enthusiastic personality to work with. Thanks big time, Mike! We'll do it again!

And you will be the first on my list the next time I need to have an event catered. It was a pleasure to meet and work with you. Pat S.

After 15 minutes he finally got his food. I waited another 5 minutes before checkout my on my order. They said they were running behind on the grill. During the wait, I saw multiple other people check on their orders and that's when the staff realized they lost order tickets. My friend had ordered the rogue (braised short rib sandwich) and did not enjoy it at all, stating there was no flavor to the meat. Do not bother trying Wandering Dago. From the get-go they were extremely helpful and most importantly patient. They welcomed us to their home for the tasting and meet & greet. Once we decided what we wanted to include on our menu(s), they assisted us with budgeting and logistics and even coordinated with the other vendors to ensure everything went off without a hitch. The wedding was executed perfectly. Everything was prepared behind the scenes, so well that I barely noticed their presence. The food was delicious and our menu was diverse, something for everyone. After everything was said and done, we received a custom 'welcome to the family' cutting board from Andrew and Brandon as a thank you gift. Our experience working together was as positive as it gets. I would certainly recommend their services to friends and loved ones. Thank you Wandering Dago!

Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.

Everything she prepared was super delicious and everyone loved it. She was also really easy going and a pleasure to be around. Highly recommend and we'll certainly be calling her again the next time we're in the area.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! If you want a caterer that is pretentious, so full of herself and focuses on…read moreher needs and not what your requests are, then this is your girl! I e-mailed and called to discuss catering for my upcoming wedding, no response even noting originally that this was for my wedding. I called again a couple weeks later and after some phone tag (I had to call 3x to get a call back), finally get the chance to discuss what I am looking for. She has a cocktail party menu on her website which is what jumped out at me. I explain there will be 125-150 guests, it is not a formal party (we are hosting a very laid back wedding, I did NOT specify it was a wedding this time) that it was a casual atmosphere but I wanted a few stations set up along with some passed hor d'oeuvres. She asked about dinner and a bar, I explained that there was a bartender already lined up for the gig. She goes on to say that she needs to do everything - bar, dinner, she needs certain permits in order to even be on site with alcohol and tells me that if this other bartender serves someone underage or over serves, her wait staff could get sued because they are serving the food. Really? I know this is not true being certified to serve alcohol myself and work events where I serve people in establishments that I do not work for, I am the person liable to anyone I serve and I carry the permit to serve the alcohol. Anyways, she goes on to say that her insurance is so outrageous and the health department is up her ass so much and so strict. My response was, well if that's what you need to do (provide a bartender), then include it in the quote. Meanwhile, we will have our own event insurance (she didn't even ask) and you shouldn't have to defend the quality of your own food if you are that worried about the health department. I even told her to quote dinner too since she made such a stink about that. She kept insisting she wants to make sure everything is done in my best interest and what will work for me and that she is a full service company and typically handles the set up, serving and clean up. I kept reiterating that yes, that is exactly what I want and why I contacted you. I literally said, I want someone to come in set up, serve and do the clean up. She went on for 20 minutes on how I should get "my housekeeper or some friends" to help serve the food and we should make our own food ahead and get in touch with Allerdice to rent tables, tents, and dishes from. She kept saying how expensive her service was and that she didn't know my budget and so on. SHE DIDN'T EVEN ASK!!! This is again, AFTER I kept telling her to just give me a quote to include ALL of the things she is insisting she has to provide. She kept saying it would probably be best if we just picked some items off of her "To Go Menu" that we could just pick up that day. HAH! If I wanted to prep food and wash dishes for appetizers, dinner and dessert of 150 people, I never would have called you!! I can't tell you how many times she told me to make my own food and kept trash talking my bartender she doesn't even know! Our friend bartends at a couple of the busiest bars in downtown Saratoga - ever heard of City Tavern? Oh, but I'm sure you're random restaurant on the outskirts of Ballston Spa is SO much busier. Get a grip! 20 minutes of my life wasted, hopefully others don't make the same mistake. I'm glad I didn't tell her it was for my wedding, I'm sure the attitude would have been different. I'll be going with Augie's thanks. Learn some customer service skills, or maybe you're housekeeper can handle that...

The buffet they set up was slow moving (took guests over an hour to get through). When we suggested that the buffet should have been accessible on both sides they were very rude and didn't want to talk. They also came to the event severely understaffed. I am not in the service industry, so I don't know what an adequate budget for a buffet should be, but I would expect my caterer to advise me what it costs to have a nice event! What we got were a couple of over worked people running around trying to do the work of 10. The buffet was constantly needing to be refilled and messy. Plus we were responsible for renting and setting up all the tables, linens, chairs and catering tent, they brought the food. And for this mediocre service they charged me $35+ per person. I have had much better experiences for an equal amount of money. Perhaps this was an off day for them, but be sure to meet in person prior to your event and go over everything with a fine tooth comb.

I was told after providing a deposit that my event coordinator (Kate) would reach out to finalize plans early February. Mid February rolls around and I have not heard from Kate. I reached out via email only to find that Kate is no longer working with Nicole's. Our event was passed on to Margaret. No problem. Margaret and I arranged a call where I discussed our in laws are footing the bill and they LOVE food. So we wanted a lot and a large variety despite being a smaller wedding (50-75 people). Margaret spent the entire call talking me down and telling me I was ordering too much. She asked I look over the options again and downsize. I told her we would but we do still want a large variety. A day or two later I go to email Margaret our (still large but) downsized order...only to find an email from her waiting for me. Her email stated that Nicole's simply could not service us and it was a mistake for Kate to take us on originally. She went on to say that the only way it was feasible for them to serve our wedding is if we were willing to spend a minimum of $15,000 BEFORE TAXES AND FEES. So to recap we've had them booked since November. Between November and March they didn't think to tell us they couldn't serve us. And after talking me down Margaret comes back not 72 hours later to tell me we have to pay over $15 grand. BEFORE TAXES AND FEES. Margaret left us hanging and scrambling to find a caterer for one of the busiest wedding weekends of the year. And to add to the unprofessionalism after providing our home address for her to return our deposit via check...she sent it to the location of our wedding event instead. Do not work with these people and risk being put in the situation I'm in. They cannot be trusted to uphold their end of a bargain. Hell, they can't even be trusted to address an envelope.
