It went from having a class included in the membership every week night (Monday-Thursday) to having one class per week. It's not worth the money. Pay per class if you go. Even the punch cards expire which is NOT good. The instructors are not certified to teach pole and they change constantly. Each instructor teaches totally different and they don't follow any type of teaching plan or pattern so you end up paying for the same 3 moves over and over again. It's fun to take one or two classes but the membership is a TOTAL rip off.

They lack a lot of the equipment that I am expected to use daily. Petra does not have an x-ray machine, or the complicated computer software that dental offices use, or a lot of equipment that you need to know how to use. Consequently we spent a lot of our time doing nothing, just reading the book instead of learning how to actually do the job. I just got my first job and I don't know how to do anything. I've watched procedures on youtube, and I've read about them in the book, but that's all. I'm having to rely on my co-workers to teach me everything. It's embarrassing and frustrating. It took me a really long time to get a job, too, because another thing they don't tell you is that almost all the employers will only hire someone with experience. Also, when they see "Petra" on your resume, they assume you know nothing. (I learned this from a hiring manager.) This may explain why I got so few callbacks. I do, however, know how to effectively rinse a patient's teeth.

I love Kelsey and Kevin (they are just the best and could NOT be better in any way I can think of) and will really miss Dean...he is an absolutely wonderful teacher and such a loss for SOR and the students. All the staff members I've had contact with in classes and makeups have been thoughtful, courteous, professional yet friendly and have brought me so much more knowledge than I had walking in with a professional background in opera and musical theater. The staff has been the most important thing about SOR for me. I don't know that I would attend without them. I hope they all stay (at least as long as I and my family are there!). I'm so glad my husband and I have returned for a 2nd performance band season, that my son is now in his 3rd, and that they have been so patient, inspiring, and warm with my adult daughter with autism. Thank you SOR staff! I hope you are valued as much as I think you should be!

My young son started in Rookies. We paid the enrollment fee, and prorated month. Today, first of Sept, I tell them my son cannot attend any Rookie classes because he has after school and will be too tired. They still charged me for a full month, saying I didn't give them 30 days notice. My son hadn't even been enrolled for 30 days...there was no more advance notice I could give. What's more, I gave them several alternatives, given that they insist on charging us for the month even though we can't use it. I suggested they give us credit for the summer so my son can take a month of Rookies then; I also suggested I take lessons and even make up the difference in pay. They said no to these suggestions. Unless they refund me the money or agree to some alternative, I cannot recommend this business.
