I watch most nites, but on the rare occasion which I am forced to watch channel 3 or 10 (say, there's a college football game going on) it is simply shameful comparing the quality of their newscasts to that of Action News. What sets Action News apart from the others is a variety of things. The newscasters themselves, of course, are first and foremost. I could go on and on all day about how wonderful the likes of Jim Gardener and Lisa Thomas-Laury have been for literally decades now, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Action News consistently recruits the best talent and trains them seemingly overnite. While other newscasts flounder with anchor changes over and over, Action News seems to be a breeding ground for raw talent like Brian Taff and Adam Jospesh, to name just two. Furthermore, the content is better. Action News is proported to have invented the "it bleeds, it leads" mantra now adopted by most regional news stations across the country. While this is hardly a compliment, it stands as proof of its place as a beacon of innovation within the news community. The others follow; Action News leads. When I want to know what's going on in Philly, there's only one place to turn- Action News! *Cue the sweet music*

The balance of their time is nothing but joking, sillyness and giggling, particularly by Alex. I don't mind some levity but this is not appropriate. Years ago they focused more on the news. From 9 o'clock on that was more of the light and fluff stories and was very entertaining. It was fun. Now it's non-stop and very annoying. If I want news, it seems the 4-6am delivers. Karen and Thomas are excellent. They cover the news with a sprinkle of fun. My only hope is that they can turn things around from 6-10. Report the news. When I called bac to ask who I could talk to, they let it ring for about min before hang up. Takeaways: don't expect you passport to go through until it's convenient for them, don't expect to be able to get member services unless you are free during work hours, don't expect service from member "services."
