I left my heart in Verona. It didn't hurt that we found an airbnb much grander than I could ever hope to live in. Not just the hotel like amenities, but the architecture. 20 foot ceilings, spacious rooms, so 1700s. We in the US think our 120 year old Victorian's are super old. Verona is built on ancient Roman ruins. Gorgeous, views, architecture, romantic, crowded with life, row after row of outdoor cafes where nobody rushes you and you can people watch while sipping your cappuccino.
Here's a fact. NOBODY, I mean nobody is hogging a table anywhere to stare at their computers. Nobody. People are talking to each other live in real time, and they're enjoying the passing parade. More fashion talk. Milan, which I now officially hate, is full of either lock step monotone colors or let it all hang out.
Verona is up there with Paris in effortless chic. But don't worry, it's like New York where you can wear whatever you want & nobody cares.
