The Giusti Gardens are absolutely doable if you are doing a walking tour through the city of Verona. It just requires leaving the typical path and crossing a bridge. The gardens were a great escape from the crowd surrounding Juliet's house. There was probably not more than 20 people at the garden when we went. The gardens are lush and green with fountains, statues, and tall Italian Cypress trees. You are free to roam the grounds. Most people make the climb up to the other garden where you can sunbathe or sit on one of the benches to admire the view of Verona. The climb is dusty and full of stairs (big surprise). The view of the city is nice but I was hoping to get a better view of the garden below. It's difficult to admire the knot garden and labyrinth when you can't see it from above. I was only able to view it properly on the climb down through an opening between a few trees. I can see how some would come to this garden for a little peace and tranquility but for me, the fun factor in this garden was just okay.

We decided to come back on our way back to the train. By night time, the piazza was magical! It had a beautiful shooting star sculpture. The buildings surrounding the piazza had beautiful architecture and were beautifully lit. The market had lots of twinkling lights and Christmas decorations. It had both German food and Italian options. Of course we had some Mulled wine and a pretzel. The market was really bustling at night time with a festive crowd.

During the day, you'll see a lot of people congregating in the area. Enjoying lunch at one of the many restaurants that surround the town square. Hanging out and catching up with friends. Exploring the sights nearby including the Arena (the fourth largest amphitheater in Italy and what I like to call the mini Colosseum). There's some greenery in the piazza and a statue. If you're visiting, make sure to check out the area to see one of the hearts of the city. I wouldn't recommend eating in the area because the restaurants are overpriced but definitely take a stroll there.
