People and families have ups and downs and ours is no exception. In our case, we consider the…read morehealth of our son, as with everyone in our family, vital to our collective well-being. For more than two decades he had been the dependable go-to-nurse in a government hospital tending to mentally disturbed patients. Since last year our son's health suffered as the cumulative effect of a punishing work condition such that he needed medical care himself. Unbelievably, Los Angeles, California, with all its reputed cosmopolitan advances and progressive pretensions, proved direly incapable of providing satisfactory medical care when needed most. It's either that doctors don't service my son's insurance coverage or that their schedules were top heavy and for many other reasons. The couple of medical providers we ultimately contracted had their own sweet times of when to engage a patient such that there were emergency situations and they would not even pick up the phone. My son's employer also has doctors but they, too, were found wanting. My wife and daughters would take turn pleading, crying over the phone asking office staffs to connect then with the doctors, to no avail. There was someone we had been addressing as "Doctor" for sometime only to find out that he's a nurse practitioner. There were instances of seriously wrong medications prescribed resulting in my son's ailment turning worse. A Texas-based daughter brought to our attention Dr. Robert Hernandez of Primary Medicine of Sherman and, boy, he's heaven sent as far as we are concerned. In the words of another daughter, Dr. Hernandez is a doctor who cares, the kind of Primary Care Physician we're looking for his brother and everyone in the family. Laymen that we are, we, nevertheless, are capable of discerning the wide chasm of difference between our sad experience with California's medical world viewed in the prism of Dr. Hernandez' humanity, very capable hands, and sincere care of patients. Friendly office staff, too. As a matter of fact, we're in the process of resettling in this part of Texas so that everyone in our family can avail of Dr. Hernandez' care and expertise. I'm sure this is only the first of our shared observations for the benefit of everyone in need of competent, patient-oriented medical provider. At our first meeting with Dr. Hernandez, we feel that he was not just a doctor of the body and mind, but of the soul, as well, because he reaches out to our deepest longing for a friend, a confidante and someone akin to family, who we are not afraid to share our deepest fears and anxieties with. We feel safe with him both physically and emotionally, confident that he is someone who will be there for us. We look forward to more productive and more meaningful association with Dr. Hernandez and we wish many more will come to know him, as well. We certainly are not putting any pressure on the good doctor with unreasonable expectations because we know that all patients at Primary Medicine of Sherman are being treated equal. We just want him to know that we are grateful for all that he has done for our family. Thank you, Dr. Robert Hernandez!

I've been a patient for a few years now and have seen both Anna Burke and Raymond. First of all,…read morethe staff is very rude, and they do not care about their patients. Second of all, these physicians will do everything they can to get money out of you. That being said, I was going to this office (for around 2-3 years) with the intention of getting my thyroid diagnosed/under control. After multiple blood tests, scans, and referrals to a specialist (mind you the "specialist" they sent me to just told me I was allergic to gluten and sent me on my way) they told me I was fine. I felt like I was being dramatic because I did not FEEL fine, but they insisted that I was okay. Cool, great, moving on. Fast forward to the last few months where I have been having more severe symptoms. Of course I start worrying, and decide to FINALLY get a second opinion because something didn't feel right. And bam, they diagnosed me FIRST try with Hashimotos Autoimmune Disease...The pure anger I had felt was unexplainable. This staff does not know what they're doing, and they will run you around in circles just so they can make money. DO NOT COME HERE!

Renewing prescriptions is a huge problem! The pharmacy faxed the information to the doctor's office…read moreover a week ago and that's ignored. The MyChart resource says that my prescriptions can't be renewed at this time. Why not? And how do we get in touch with anyone when no one answers the phone?!! This is not the first time I've experienced this pathetic service. Definitely time to change doctors. And perhaps that is the message they are sending!

Took her off of a psych med that she had been on for 17 years without telling anybody. Tried to add a psych med on for nerve pain without adjusting current psych meds. More than once added on a medication she was allergic to despite repeated family warnings and had an idea to re-create a weight loss medication made of multiple drugs, without adjusting the levels to what was in the medication she was trying to duplicate. Listening to the patient is great but when you don't listen to the patient caregivers you miss a lot of really important information that is pertinent to caring for the patient. Especially with geriatric patients that are confused. When my mother presented with severe back pain, she ordered muscle relaxers and PT instead of doing imaging. That back pain turned out to be metastatic cancer that killed my mom. I was going to write this review before my mom died, but that is just the icing on the cake. Repeated frustrating visits with this doctor. You just don't blow off the patient caregivers or change routine psychiatric meds without telling anyone. Poor management across providers. NOT OK!!! Don't turn your back for a second with geriatric loved ones!
