When he pulled the shingles, what he found was both disheartening and shocking. The prior roofer (work he was repairing) bungled the entire roof and left vast sections of structure uninsulated. Rot had ruined the joists. The simple 1 week job was now a complete rebuilding of the entire roof system including new joists. What I got in the end was a perfectly engineered roof with air circulation, up-to-code insulation, and attractive metal roofing. His attention to detail is spectacular - I even heard him tell a technician "No - it has to fit perfectly." Air spacing wood members were slotted to facilitate airflow. The 1 week job took close to three, and each day they left the workspace clean. There were no unreasonable delays and they worked solid through the heat until the job was done. Communication from the beginning was prompt, clear, documented with detailed quote sheets, and budgets met. Highly recommend.

We were very fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to work with them on our nontypical Vermont flat roof residential project. They were prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Our EPDM roof was installed on-time and at a reasonable price. We cannot recommend the Mailhiot crew enough and wish we could give them a rating higher than 5 stars!

When the owner came to see the problem, the response was that the roof " looked fine" and that gable vents would be a siding issue, not part of roofing. Still wondering why soffit vents were not installed to finish proper venting system?! Because no response to addressing resulting mold issues was offered, I would not recommend.

We also had him replace Anderson windows and he did an excellent job in the repairs / replacements. Highly recommend.

I hired this contractor to do a drywall job in my house that had had some flood damage. He had two…read moremonths to do what was about a 5 day job. I have to say this has been my worst experience with a contractor ever. Can Jason do a good job, in terms of him doing the drywall/mudding , yes, he did for the first day on the job, of course that was the day he got paid the first two payments, after that it went downhill fast. I wanted everything done in XP (water/mold resistant), he brought regular drywall so that had to be taken back. One thing he appears to actually have never read a materials datasheet. Had he have done he would have done the ceiling in 5/.8" as my ceiling is 16" o.c., but he just did it in 1/2", so there may be a problem in the future, I didn't realize this until I read a datasheet to do another job months after. After the first 1 1/2 days he disappeared not to be heard of until I finally called him two weeks later, after that he would bring a crew for like an hour or two in the morning now and then, always after I had called. Worse than that, the crew he brought would be a couple of young guys, who had no idea what they were doing and I discovered had just been hired and this was their first building job. The guys worked hard but the work was done very poorly, also the guys get to breath all the silica dust, I offered them dust-masks but they seemed uninterested. In the end I had to work evenings and weekends to fix the screw ups and finish areas he never got to. I had a schedule with renters coming in. Close to the rental day he just never showed up at a promised data again and that was the last time I heard from him. I had to work into the night hours to ready and get it ready to paint but I didn't do a great job and his poor work, particularly corners and finishing are there for anyone to see if they look closely. I would never recommend you use him, since i am not a drywall / tape 'n mud expert it took me a long time to fix and most of the poor workmanship like bad corners I had no time to fix. I have everything documents in pictures and video if he should challenge the accuracy of this review. This job was a disaster and its the last time I will use a drywall contractor.

After careful review I choose to work with Gmwoodworks. The job went along great. He fixed problems that we never saw under the old siding and wrapped the house properly in tyvek. All the while his workmanship and attention to detail were seccond to none. The way he kept us informed on the progress made us feel like we knew what we were looking at.:) The house has new siding and some stone work under the overhang, and now is by far the nicest in the neighborhood. After he completed the siding we had him quote a new deck out back for us. The price was workably so in two weeks times we had a new deck out back. The deck is curved in the front and covered with compostie decking with composite railings and looks beautiful. The whole structure including footings is solid and we don't expect any problems for many, many years to come.
