So glad I found Vermicelli again! It was located in Australia Square and I was most disappointed when I went there one day and found it replaced by another store. After checking it out on the net, I found they had relocated to Clarence Street and was most pleased. Wish it was closer to me as used to eat all the time there but it makes it worthwhile when I hike across town for it.
I tried the Canh Chua With Chicken. It is a tamarind based soup so it both sour and sweet. There were pieces of shredded chicken on top of the soup, vermicelli noodles, tomatoes, pineapple, and other delicious herbs and flavourings. I usually consume all the soup as it is so darn flavoursome. It is perfect for a cooler day and both filling and warming. I also had a Peking Duck Rice Paper Roll. It is a plump roll filled noodles and salad as well as your choice of filling which in this case was duck. It is served with a hoi sin based sauce. As not close by now I also bought a pack of Pork, Chicken, Beef Rice Paper Rolls. These 3 pack of rolls are good value ($8.50) compared to buying them individually at $3.20 each. The premium rolls cost $3.80 each like the duck one I got. They were very popular that they had basically sold out of everything but were making them fresh to order for anyone who wanted them.
