They get people through lines fairly quickly, seem generally knowledgeable about products and when there is an issue, a manager generally comes fairly quickly. The drive up is always wonderful. Staff is always courteous and efficient. The one time I did experience a longer than expected wait, someone came over to the car and said they had a high volume of cars at the time (which they did) and they apologized for the delay. This was a nice touch so I didn't have to worry or wonder what was going on. That being said, they could do a better job of maintaining the overall neatness and cleanliness of the store. And keep the shelves better stocked. The worst, though, is the bathrooms. They always seem to be a hot mess.

I am however annoyed at my recent shopping experience…read morehere.....i had about 30.00 worth of items in my cart--one checkout person was open and three other ladies where just hanging around the desk area....nobody gets in a hurry. My husband was attempting to purchase a man's razor that wasn't marked. They had several different varieties on the shelf all banged up and open boxed and he just happened to be impressed with one that wasn't priced. When we put it with the other items the bar code didn't scan and the checkout lady turned to her supervisor said it wouldn't scan and make a pointing motion to where a tag had apparently fell off as you can still see the adhesive residue. i wanted to just pay for what I had and let them sort this out to keep the line moving but that lady said oh i can suspend this transaction..(thanks asshole!) So she suspended my transaction with the push of one key and ripped off my receipt and handed to her fucking manager so I got pushed aside with that lady to another register...she was on that computer looking up shit for at least 10-15 mintues wtih no success and stated she would have to call another store to find the pricce...SERIOUSLY....????? She never even walked her ample ass to the display to see if she could locate a sticker or bar code---I suggested she find a similar product and use that but she just couldn't do that because it would mess up her precious inventory...seems like they already have a problem. I am not a woman with great patience....so I told the husband he didn't need that damn razor and made the lady take my money for my few other items that I obviously wanted or I would have just left it all and went elsewhere but I did want my little travel cover for my kindle and the dog leash and collar for my dog...so I let her take another 10 mintues to review my entire receipt and finally take my money... Next time I'm skipping this store and experience....

Dollar General is popping up every and any where. It can be in the middle of nowhere and you will…read morefind one. This one popped up here in Apollo. The hardest thing about this place is the entrance to the lot. Thinking that it is on the corner lot they would have two entrances to the parking lot. Nope. We had to do a U-turn and make a right at the light to the one and only entrance to this place. The entrance is shared between DG and residential homes. The parking lot, well, it's horrible. Unless you like a pothole that has its own island in the middle. Inside it is kind of big. But in consistent DG style, the aisles are congested with merchandise on carts that haven't made its way to the shelves. Makes it very frustrating to shop. I have worked retail before and I know, common sense wise, that you only bring out what you can stock, finish that cart, and return to get another. That would make sense, or maybe DG is going for a chaos theme. Prices are reasonable, but have been rising to be just about the same as nearby grocery/department stores.

It's small, but has all that you need for a short drive. Typically, there's never more than one cashier open but very rarely do you need it. There's so few people working (probably only 2) that sometimes you have to go find them and let them know you're ready to checkout.
