I contacted them on a Friday to do a mortgage application and they were happy to help. I explained that I did one last year and didn't get a home before it expired, so did not want a hard inquiry until the offer was accepted. Kim texted me at 9:10 am Saturday morning reminding me to fill out the application. I responded right away at 9:11 am explaining that we put in the offer, but there are showings all weekend and I'd like to wait for it to be accepted. I asked about the down payment requirement, then followed up an hour later asking if my question made sense. No response at all, don't tell me you got busy from 9:10 to 9:11. If a company texts on a Saturday morning, it indicates you're working so why stop communicating when I explained why I'm waiting to do the application? This company is extremely terrible they have the ordacity to ask us for our business again after they overcharged us and then treated us like crazy. I was abused by the agent I delt with to me so abusing and neglect as far as I'm concerned I applied since april.as the agent was the one that called me in the begaining of april.of 2024 why I did every thing he told me to send to him lied to me that it was ok that my ex husband name was on my house I sent copies of every thing he asked me for then sends me over to some other guy agent and the other agent said he has to be off your house the ex husband of mine so I did that in the month of June 1 I had a court date to get that done and the judge said I have to serve him he does not live in the United States he l8ves in Mexico because when we were divorced the judge told him he had to sign off the house. My wife and I had a very poor experience with Veritas Funding and our contact, Tim Monaghan. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this company. We have financed seven properties previously with other lenders and never had such a poor experience. For example, origination fees were added to our closing costs after being told there would be no origination fee, and then an appraisal cost was added even though no appraisal was ordered or required for our loan. in addition, we spent hours on the phone and answering emails with little progress and vague responses. To make matters worse, after several weeks of conversing with Tim, I reached out to local lenders in our area and realized that Veritas rates and fees were much higher. in response, I asked if Veritas could match the lower rate/fees and was never given a straight answer. Tim mentioned that the closing costs would be lower once they removed the fees that they mistakenly added that I called them out on. He did say he could lower the rate but then added in additional fees without pointing that out. The experience was so bad that we ended up pulling out despite a final approval from the company. read more

My experience with Veritas funding In south Ogden has been terrible. The application was pretty straight forward and Jena called to tell me I was approved at a pretty high amount. She said I could start putting in offers. I knew I couldn't afford what she had approved me for so I didn't put any offers in. A week later she called and reduced the amount I was approved for by $30,000! It was extremely unprofessional for her to tell me I had been approved when clearly I hadn't. I scheduled an appointment to meet with her and talk about everything and when the time came for us to meet she completely blew me off and didn't even bother to apologize! Luckily her assistant was in and able to answer our questions. My husband is getting a raise after he passes a test at work and Jena sent me a text implying that my husband isn't getting a raise. I've been dealing with this for a month and I've still never even met this woman in person! I recommend going somewhere else or at least not using Jena. read more

First of all the first time we had our appointment with Christian marrtinez he kept us waiting for 35 mins and he came out to tell us that he couldn't see us because he had another appointment " he was the one who told us the time of the appointment in the first place". Unfortunately I cannot recommend my experience with Veritas. Below are the main reasons: - They ask for all of your sensitive information (tax history, bank statements, social security number, etc.) via email. Most lenders have a secure website you can directly upload documents to. This is a much more secure method in my opinion. - Miscommunicated estimated closing costs dramatically. I was told that my "out of pocket costs" would be $456. I assumed this meant the total amount of money that I would need to bring to closing. It was frustrating to find out weeks later that I actually would need to bring over $6k to closing. "Out of pocket costs" to the Veritas meant the difference between their quote and another lender I had priced out. - Simply expensive. Box Home Loans beat their price, even after a special concession by Veritas, by thousands of dollars. This is amazing to me considering Veritas receives an extra $4k in seller paid closing costs due to there "preferred lender" status. read more
