This property was sold in early 2025, and the name changed to Cascades. The previous ownership…read more(affiliated with Abbey Delray South) provided a stimulating calendar of events, but most importantly they had a trained chef in the kitchen who prepared well-cooked meals using mostly fresh ingredients. Menu options were varied and nutritious. Since becoming Cascades, the quality of the meals has taken a nose dive. Fewer choices, smaller portions, vegetables often bathed in strange yellow oil, and regular use of processed meat products masquerading as real food. Management says they're taking resident's concerns into consideration and that things will improve, but it's only gotten worse month by month. It's been almost 3 weeks since the kitchen was shut down due to a cockroach infestation. There's no excuse as to why this problem has not been resolved at this point. In the meantime, residents have to deal with extremely limited menu choices and small protein servings. A recent brunch offered nothing but hard-boiled eggs, orange juice, and unthawed frozen waffles. A couple of weeks ago residents were served takeout pizza. For the New Year's Eve dinner main dish, residents were given a choice between a pressed turkey sandwich or a pressed ham sandwich. Each building has only one elevator, and in recent months it's sometimes taken up to a week to repair a broken elevator. This has left some residents on upper floors with no options to leave their apartments for days at a time. Long-term residents have been moving as a result of all this. Many residents don't have the means or the support to move to a different residence. Think twice before moving your loved one into this facility.

Horrible!!! BED SORES and lied about it!!!…read moreThey said the sores were due to my Father was not getting enough protien, but it was from lying in his own filth. They refused antibiotics because they said it might cause diarrihea. Met with the Admin twice, still nothing was done. Asked to speak to a Dr and was told I would be contacted, but was never contacted. Dr would sneak in and out. I had to move him to Betesda Hospital to get treatment for the two terrible bed sores. They are really bad down to the bone, but the lieing about them prevented me from getting competent care. After a week in the hospital, he was moved to Isles of Boynton where they are healing. If I was litigous I'd call a lawyer.

There are significant safety and maintenance concerns that appear to be routinely ignored. The building is in a state of clear disrepair, with needed repairs left unaddressed. Sanitation conditions are unacceptable; bathrooms and floors are frequently dirty, and there is a persistent and concerning presence of mold and mildew throughout the facility. Most alarming is the apparent neglect of residents' fundamental care needs. Basic hygiene is not consistently provided, with residents reportedly going without regular showers due to staff inattention. This represents a failure to meet even minimal standards of care and raises serious concerns about regulatory compliance and oversight. The overall condition of the facility--both in terms of physical environment and quality of care--reflects systemic mismanagement. Prospective residents and their families should approach this facility with extreme caution and strongly consider alternative assisted living and memory care options in the West Boynton area that provide appropriate standards of safety, cleanliness, and resident care.

Architecturally, it is perfect for our elderly. Everyone gets his/her own bedroom with a private bathroom shared by two "suit-mates.' The premises are clean. I heard that no one got Covid-19. If you see the facility, you can understand why. Residents are separate and group activity work is in small groups. Going forward, it is my hope that it will be a great experience for Mom. My disappointment was in the overall admissions process. Tina, the salesperson is fantastic as is Chantel, the memory care director. Anna in nursing was nice. Most of the individual directors are great. What was missing was a coordinated admissions process. Each new resident should be assigned an admissions coordinator to introduce the family and resident to all the individual directors. We were told to come to a meeting when Mom was admitted. I envisioned all the directors present; but instead we met with a disgruntled employee in the nursing department. She made us feel like we were wasting her time. She took the meds that we dropped off and that was basically it! Since then, I have been over there about five times to meet with five different people concerning Mom's plan. Monday I meet with PT. Today, I had to go back to nursing to drop off her supplementary vitamins. Tomorrow I have to meet with the plan coordinator. This afternoon I have to meet with Anne at the front desk to coordinate her furniture delivery. I believe that this process should have been better organized. We had to wait two weeks for her medical paperwork to be finalized; meanwhile we had Mom at home and were paying the facility and home health aides. I hired two CNA's to help Mom with the transition. Thank God I did this because one of the staff aides didn't even know she was there. Mom was so disoriented that she pooped in her pants, something she never did before. Again, I was thankful I had my aides there. It is a difficult transition for us. After feeling so comfortable with Tina...the sales rep; now I feel very insecure about my decision to admit her. Hopefully things will ironed out as she settles in. I am grateful for the first full night's sleep that I have had in years since Mom was admitted!

The interiors were all redone and decorated beautifully. My only complaint is that the hallways dont have handrails. Some apartments are a long way from the elevators and residents may need to hold onto something for balance and mobility. Many have electric scooters and more have walkers to assist them. Personally, I wouldn't mind living there as well, when the time comes. I miss HE and the wonderful residents I too became friends with over the years.

The more luxurious the more cost. However, I discovered (after years) two important factors: 1) The care is about the same at each regional location - the caretakers are all from the same regional communities. No matter what the luxury outside, the care inside is about the same. 2) My mother did not care for the luxury. She was sometimes afraid of such luxury or technology presented. She would prefer a HOME style setting. Villa of Kings and Queens provided that. She lived there until she passed away in 2020.

He was in his 90's but never wanted to use a walker. This was the perfect place for him. He was up and dressed and in the sitting room daily until his last 3 weeks. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood with a big yard and has lovely sitting spaces. The meals are home cooked daily and the aides who work there are kind people. The owner is an RN, and her brother is the administrator so they deliver personal care on a high level, as it is their own family business, not part of a chain with a manager. They have a generator with a large propane tank available to them should there by an electrical power outage. The house was always clean whenever I dropped in. They have group activities for those who wish to participate. He would take part playing bingo. I would pick him up and take him out for a ride or out to eat until he was not able to. I have heard complaints about other places that they plop the elder in a wheel chair and ignore them all day, or the institution is so big that the elder cannot get around unless they are in a wheel chair. But this facility is a home, and the workers are always on duty, the kitchen looks out to the sitting area so there is always supervision with an atmosphere of group living. I am happy that my father spent his last days at the Villa of Kings & Queens of Delray.
