Before bringing her…read moreto Villa of Kings & Queens, I moved my mother from one assisted living and/or memory care to another - each more luxurious setting than the other. The more luxurious the more cost. However, I discovered (after years) two important factors: 1) The care is about the same at each regional location - the caretakers are all from the same regional communities. No matter what the luxury outside, the care inside is about the same. 2) My mother did not care for the luxury. She was sometimes afraid of such luxury or technology presented. She would prefer a HOME style setting. Villa of Kings and Queens provided that. She lived there until she passed away in 2020.

He was in his 90's but never wanted to use a walker. This was the perfect place for him. He was up and dressed and in the sitting room daily until his last 3 weeks. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood with a big yard and has lovely sitting spaces. The meals are home cooked daily and the aides who work there are kind people. The owner is an RN, and her brother is the administrator so they deliver personal care on a high level, as it is their own family business, not part of a chain with a manager. They have a generator with a large propane tank available to them should there by an electrical power outage. The house was always clean whenever I dropped in. They have group activities for those who wish to participate. He would take part playing bingo. I would pick him up and take him out for a ride or out to eat until he was not able to. I have heard complaints about other places that they plop the elder in a wheel chair and ignore them all day, or the institution is so big that the elder cannot get around unless they are in a wheel chair. But this facility is a home, and the workers are always on duty, the kitchen looks out to the sitting area so there is always supervision with an atmosphere of group living. I am happy that my father spent his last days at the Villa of Kings & Queens of Delray.

There are significant safety and maintenance concerns that appear to be routinely ignored. The building is in a state of clear disrepair, with needed repairs left unaddressed. Sanitation conditions are unacceptable; bathrooms and floors are frequently dirty, and there is a persistent and concerning presence of mold and mildew throughout the facility. Most alarming is the apparent neglect of residents' fundamental care needs. Basic hygiene is not consistently provided, with residents reportedly going without regular showers due to staff inattention. This represents a failure to meet even minimal standards of care and raises serious concerns about regulatory compliance and oversight. The overall condition of the facility--both in terms of physical environment and quality of care--reflects systemic mismanagement. Prospective residents and their families should approach this facility with extreme caution and strongly consider alternative assisted living and memory care options in the West Boynton area that provide appropriate standards of safety, cleanliness, and resident care.

The previous ownership…read more(affiliated with Abbey Delray South) provided a stimulating calendar of events, but most importantly they had a trained chef in the kitchen who prepared well-cooked meals using mostly fresh ingredients. Menu options were varied and nutritious. Since becoming Cascades, the quality of the meals has taken a nose dive. Fewer choices, smaller portions, vegetables often bathed in strange yellow oil, and regular use of processed meat products masquerading as real food. Management says they're taking resident's concerns into consideration and that things will improve, but it's only gotten worse month by month. It's been almost 3 weeks since the kitchen was shut down due to a cockroach infestation. There's no excuse as to why this problem has not been resolved at this point. In the meantime, residents have to deal with extremely limited menu choices and small protein servings. A recent brunch offered nothing but hard-boiled eggs, orange juice, and unthawed frozen waffles. A couple of weeks ago residents were served takeout pizza. For the New Year's Eve dinner main dish, residents were given a choice between a pressed turkey sandwich or a pressed ham sandwich. Each building has only one elevator, and in recent months it's sometimes taken up to a week to repair a broken elevator. This has left some residents on upper floors with no options to leave their apartments for days at a time. Long-term residents have been moving as a result of all this. Many residents don't have the means or the support to move to a different residence. Think twice before moving your loved one into this facility.

With dozens to choose from, in the specific area we were looking at, definitely made this process even more difficult. Allegro Senior Living was highly recommended to us and when we visited the facility it certainly did not disappoint. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Adams at Allegro who spent a tremendous amount of time with us. We toured the facility, spoke to staff and shared our story. We asked dozens of questions and shared our concerns. Mary was warm, knowledgeable and so transparent about expectations for a loved ones transition to a senior living facility. After visiting many other communities and reviewing our choices, we immediately knew that Allegro Senior Living would be the perfect living arrangement for our mom. The facility is immaculate, nicely appointed, has lovely grounds, is intimate in size and has an abundance of amenities and activities for those that choose to participate. The residents and staff are kind and welcoming. Our mother has been in Allegro for a month and the community has certainly continued to please us. She loves her apartment and raves about the dining selections and quality of the food. The administration, with Erica Cohen at its helm, Angela, head of nursing services and Mary Adams, are all very accessible when we have had questions or concerns. The entire staff has been so helpful to assist in acclimating our mother to her new living arrangement and has made us all feel at ease. Our mother is happy! If you and your family members are looking for a beautiful facility for your loved one, please take time to visit Allegro in Boynton Beach. Though not the newest facility we visited, Allegro Senior Living is definitely the best in the area if you are looking for a wonderful caring community for your loved one.

Before the change of hands, the residence had a food service manager and a chef, both pros, who turned out simple but nutritionally balanced and appealing meals for over five years. The new management has done an admirable job of renovating and remodeling the facility, but they immediately began gutting the food service budget. Things bottomed out in late 2022 when a spate of food poisoning affected a significant percentage of the residents. Shortly after, they attempted to pass off pressed, processed meat products as chicken cordon bleu and beef brisket. The turnover in the kitchen has been constant, with no chef or sous chef lasting more than a few months, most of them unqualified. Last summer they found a chef who was truly committed to quality, but he left in frustration, since food sourcing and menus are dictated by corporate. In my recent visit I was served a salad in which most of the lettuce was browning, and the vegetables were overcooked to the point of being tasteless mush. Recently, the dish of the day has become increasingly unhealthy : sausage, pork fried rice, and cheese blintzes. There seems to be little consideration for the dietary needs of an aged demographic. Starting a year ago, many residents have resorted to ordering hamburgers every night, as they perceive this as the only safe option. When confronted with meal-related concerns, local management are condescending and dismissive, and while the corporate VP offers assurances, nothing fundamentally changes. It's clear that they just don't care. What should be a moment of conviviality with friends, has now become a source of apprehension. If you're considering living here, or placing your loved one here, please forgo the private lunch that is offered, and instead ask to eat in the late afternoon with the residents, so that you can see what they are being served for dinner.

On a positive note, the apartments are lovely and the main areas are clean and well kept . The location is great and there are daily card games, movies and other activities available. The negative ? The choices, quality and portion sizes of the dinners are unacceptable. Last nights dinner entree was blintzes with Lima beans and tonight's is pork fried rice, egg roll and peas and carrots. The daily options are uninspiring. Breakfast isn't bad but until recently coffee was served in a paper cup and even the silverware is not good quality . My parents are living there and I am so disappointed in the way the dining room is run . I heard a few years ago the chef lived on premises and the food was good. Now that Verena took over they must be looking to cut costs and it's adversely affecting the residents' enjoyment in living there, not to mention it's unhealthy. I hope this gets addressed by management soon.

I felt at home…read morewithin a couple of days of moving in because of the staff, amenities and dining and the needed support and assistance from the moment we entered beautiful Tuscan Gardens. It is with pleasure that I write this review for Tuscan Gardens of Delray Beach on Sims Rd. In December, I found out we had 1 month to find and to get settled in Assisted Living which was a daunting task because I had an awful experience when I was discharged from the hospital. The rehab facility was my worst nightmare. I swore that I would figure out my options while I had control over my future living. I believe that everyone approaching this next step in life should be exploring what's ahead and touring places now. It will give you peace of mind. From the moment we entered Tuscan Gardens and said hello to Marie at the desk, I knew this was a warm and welcoming community. Marie is there to assist anyway needed. We were then excited to meet with Andrea, the Community Relations Director who took us on a tour. She took her time and showed us around. Andrea answered all of our questions and gave us a chance to talk with residents. Some have been here for years. They were all very happy with their experiences at Tuscan Gardens. That was all we needed to know. The residents are very open and helpful. Before we completed our tour with Andrea, we signed our reservation agreement knowing we found our new home. What a relief it was to begin the process of moving in! Within a month, we were settled and living happily at Tuscan Gardens. This review is a tribute to our new life here. You will find answers to your questions and how Tuscan Gardens meets the needs of their residents. I'm happy to share our experiences in hopes it will help you on your tour. It is the biggest move we've ever had to face and I believe you will find this assisted living is a next and most important step. We are thrilled here and find Tuscan Gardens a very positive environment where all of our needs are met. Activities, events and trips with available transportation: I wish I could show you the photo feed of residents enjoying the lifestyle which are found on our Channel 3. The pictures show holiday events, daily activities and most of all, happy residents enjoying the lifestyle. I pick and choose from the social activities because I'm very happy just being on my recliner in my apartment. The choices are many including a weekly restaurant trip. Services: Whatever you need is here. I must personally thank Sergy who is the person who took care of us as we were setting up our apartment living. Any time I need maintenance and setup services, I put in a work order request and then Sergy appears to quickly take care of things. There is extensive medical care based upon a resident's level,of care. There are 5 levels of care so there's no need to change assisted living arrangements because they also provide memory care. I love the social connections because most residents engage us as I also reach out to them as well. The social connections are very important and encouraged so Tuscan Gardens does many things so residents can be together if they wish. Floor Plans and Levels of Care: There are several floor plan options including a studio, 1 and 2 bedrooms floor plans. There are 5 levels of care. I'm a resident who is independent living while my husband receives Level 1 care. There are 5 levels of care including memory care. We are in the Chianti apartment and find it very spacious for 2 people with lots of closets and kitchen cabinets storage areas. It is bright and the floor plan is very open so we feel very comfortable in our beautiful unit. We couldn't be happier. Dining: The dining room is lovely and well appointed. I never miss a meal though nor could anyone walk away hungry because they always have 2 special entrees at each meal as well as the always "Available Menu". The best part of the dining experience is the wait staff who are very friendly and accommodating. I could tell you the names of our servers because they too are friendly and very responsive. They appear very happy to be "serving" us. It is a very relaxing time to talk with other residents and a time to enjoy the meal. Thank you Natasha for the tone and food that we enjoy. Amenities When you check the website, you will find a wealth of information including a very long list of amenities including an exercise room, beautiful theater where movies are played twice a day, Happy Hour (my husband's favorite time) because they have entertainment while relaxing and mingling, a salon and therapy area, spaces for hobbies like art and games, special events and luncheon trips. There's much more to see on their website so it would be a definite way to find out more about our beautiful, spacious and open layout throughout the community living space, a lovely dining room with very tasty food
