Sabal House is a caring loving environment. I am writing this review based on the care they…read moreprovided my wife. My wife had terminal Brain Cancer and her care was beyond what we could provide. Sabal House allowed her to live with dignity. The staff ensured a smooth transition and helped her find friends with similar interests. The hard work of the staff ensured her last days were enjoyable. When you visit you will want to take special note of their food service staff which is exceptional. I will be forever grateful to the men and women of Sabal House for how they treated our family. My preference is that you don't need the services of assisted living. However if you do, I recommend that you visit Sabal House so you can see first hand how they can improve the lifestyle of your loved ones.

All residents are in good health and capable of self-maintenance. Rent is significantly lower than facilities that provide assisted living and/or other services. Management and owners strive to ensure a friendly environment for the residents. There is a large community center with a public (resident) use computer and large screen TV with cable. Residents can reserve the community center for family gatherings too large to fit in their apartment. Many residents participate in puzzles, dominoes, card games, bingo, exercise programs, etc. Monthly Pot Luck is a big hit and the entree is provided by the owners. Owners also provide a Breakfast Social once each month (most months). Water/sewer/trash collection/lawn maintenance/pest control is included in the low rental cost. Trash is picked up at your front door twice weekly. Small pets are allowed at additional cost. Parking spaces are assigned with ample guest (unassigned) parking. Many other features and activities too numerous to list. I've been here 3+ years as of this writing and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of the residents are quite friendly and outgoing. Major shopping and restaurants are nearby and public transportation is available.

They are charging my grandmother four times what I pay for a two-bedroom apartment, yet the quality of care she receives is appalling. Recently, my grandmother fell. The staff called the fire department for assistance -- which is fine -- but never once called our family to inform us that she had fallen. That's completely unacceptable. The firefighters, who were wonderful and professional, had to dismantle parts of her room to help her. But my grandmother, who has dementia and is wheelchair-bound, was left in that disarray -- not a single staff member helped put her room back together afterward. The level of neglect and lack of compassion here is heartbreaking. The management should be ashamed. If you want your loved one to receive even the most basic care -- like assistance with a shower once a week or a decent meal -- Carpenter's Creek is absolutely not the place. #LowQuality #PoorService #ElderNeglect

A new director is there now her name is Andrea Myers, she does not know her clients well at all. She is not responsive to emails or concerns. There is a lot of turn over in staff which comes from the top down. There have been times a cook did not show up and do you think the director was in the kitchen helping the staff get breakfast done, no. Breakfast would come at 9:30, 9:45 not right for older folks that wake up at 7:00. The elevator is supposed to be checked and inspected yearly, check the certificate it was from 2022, when the last director was there. If the small items are not being taken care of then the bigger stuff for sure would not be taken care of. They advertise this place as come in and age in place, that is a lie. They do not have or keep enough staff for clients to age in place, you will end up hiring a sitter if your loved one gets down. I finally got the state ombudsman to come in when a staff member got in my aunts face and made her cry. The owner is out of South Florida and you get no response from their office either.
