Really great food, service and ambience. They won't honor their check-in queso, though. Not that it was a big deal, but it wouldn't have costed them much to make that gesture. El Crapo! If you like Mexican food, choose Taco Bell over this place. Ordered the Chimichangas, usually a safe bet when trying a new restaurant, and these things are atrocious. Completely devoid of any seasoning whatsoever. Had to use salt and pepper to "spice" it up. Beef Chimi, plain old fried hamburger. That's it. No seasoning. Chicken Chimi, plain shredded chicken, no seasoning. After ordering, the food was brought out in record time. Chimis were not crisp, they were mildly soggy. Meat on inside was steaming hot. Obviously food was microwaved. Refried beans and rice as sides. Rice was the best part of the meal. Could not find a single bean in the refried beans. Looked like a puréed bean paste. Has a strange taste to them. Ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri, did not taste any sort of alcohol. Service was good, very attentive waitress. Drinks were never empty. Overall, grossly disappointing dining experience. These people know nothing about Mexican food. Don't waste your time or money. Would give less than one star but that is not currently an option. Just got the bill. Waaaaaayyyyy overpriced. $2.95 for soft drinks. $14 each for crappy meals. $50 for two people!!! Ugh!!! Run, run, run away. read more

Food is always amazing. Servers are attentive, but not overbearing. Our FAMILY ordered the Texas Fajitas for two and it was enough for all three of us. Some dishes are very overpriced, but in all fairness, the portions HUGE! They have great bartenders and great drinks. On Mondays, they have $2.50 margaritas. Two for Tuesday (two orders of chicken or steak fajitas, beans, rice, and salad, PLUS two margaritas for $19.95. Even if you do not enjoy Mexican food, go for the chips and salsa and margaritas. I don't know how long these folks have been here, but having lived in the area for over 10 years, I just recently found out about them... And I feel as though I have missed out on many opportunities to enjoy their food. We were "out and about" on Mother's Day this year, and my lovely wife was craving Mexican food somethin' fierce. Our options were kind of limited to the one place we knew of: El Rancho Grande - Which had less-than-stellar reviews (at least, the Middletown location did). Trying to find something "new", my wife found Veracruz, and we decided to give it a shot. BONUS POINTS for being able to place an order TO-GO!! We ordered a few things that we had never had before in any Mexican Food Establishment, and everything was just plain awesome. Their guacamole kicks butt. It could have used a little more salt, but when you pair it with a salty chip, it's awesome. We ordered three separate dishes - Everything we got was great. My wife and I are definitely looking forward to a return visit in the near future - This time, to eat in. That's why it's a 4-star review: We have no idea how the service itself compares when dining in. When we do get a chance to dine in, I will update this review. If you're looking for good eats, good prices and good people you've hit the jack pot. Not your typical tex-mex place they definitely have a Mexican flare!!! Chips actually have salt on them and the salsa has chunks in it...real tomato and cilantro!! They even have hot salsa all you have to do is ask. Portions are decent and might I recommend the dinner for two for all you couples out there!!
