I would give this store in Stonebriar ZERO stars if I had that capability. My friend and I went into this store to look for a gift for my "Secret Santa work exchange " of which "anything by Vera Bradley was listed as one of the articles on the list. As a man in his early 30s, I know nothing of this Vera Bradley except that everything to me looks like it was made from a quilt and by/for grandma or a new expecting mother to be (diaper bag) . We walk into the store and were not greeted in any way shape or form. No hello's, can I help you find anything, let me know if you need assistance etc. My friend was with me who happens to be 49 and was really checking out the store. STILL NO GREETING.
There was one other shopper in the store and 4 attendants that evening; plus ourselves so grand total of 3. The old women had the younger little girl working stocking shelves while they docked around the store pretending to be busy. Finally after frustration got to me, I said to my friend that I was just going to bite the bullet and go tell an attendant that I was doing a Secret Santa exchange @ work and I wanted to know how much bang for my buck I could get for around 30$ as the sale items pertained only to certain prints and not items.
I go to the counter where one of the middle aged women was busy folding gift boxes in the corner behind the register HAWK EYE BALLING the other woman in the store. The sales attendant wouldn't even acknowledge me that I was standing in front of her cash register off to the side with body language showing that I obviously needed help.
After a few minutes I was so furious that if I didn't need a gift by the following day that I would have left that damn store and never came back. I returned to my friend in the store and she had found a couple of items under /around the 30$ mark.
In the store, it is very clean and very much decorated tastefully, that I can say. On the right side of the store they had this couch with a coffee table in front of it. On top of the coffee table was a tray of which was stuffed neatly with miscellaneous merchandise along with a clip board and pen for email addresses maybe. I sit on the couch and I am leaning forward looking at the merchandise in the tray and my friend is on the other side of the table with her reading glasses on bent over examining some merchandise that was in the tray also. I thought to myself, surely with this little scenario someone will come over to ask us for help. WRONG!!!
We are to the final portion of the store and our backs are turned and we hear this loud cheerful greeting of "HELLO", welcome to Vera Bradley what can we assist you with today ". It was one of the old broads (store manager I think) greeting a brand new customer while we had now been in the damn store for 23 minutes. I was floored!!!!
I look at my friend and I says to her, "damn, this is literally the WORST customer service I have ever had in my life "; my friend replies "what do you mean, worst would imply that that there was some sort of service and we have gotten NONE "; I thought you know, she is correct. The real kicker of my story is that my friend and l were not only dressed in nicer attire that day, but we had also just come from a Nordstrom and had 2 big paper bags in hand and one small one from the cosmetics counter.
I thought to myself, these old broads have some nerve that they can clearly see 2 nice looking normal ppl doing some holiday shopping of which they obviously dropped some major $$$ at THE FLAGSHIP store of Stonebriar, NORDSTROM!!!!
Upon check out the attendant asked me if it was the first time I had visited Vera Bradley to which I replied, "yes, and I am sorry to say it will definitely be my last " I decided to let her in on my frustration and said "do you know we have been inside this store for right at 25 minutes and not ONE associate asked if we needed help nor even had the manners to say hello or give a nod and smile when we entered the room ". The associate said she was very sorry (which are just words in customer service dispute resolution) of which I quickly dismissed "don't be sorry, don't be sorry at all because it's 25 minutes too late and numerous opportunities missed to correct thier rudeness and discourtesy of which they were very good at showing.
Bottom line, would I recommend this particular store, HELL NO!!!! Will I return to that store in the future, NOPE, absolutely not! When a store manager can stand there and listen to a customer tell her associate about how displeased he is, (again another opportunity to make it right) and say absolutely nothing however look at you from 5 foot away and know she hears every word is absolutely atrocious to me. Now everytime I see that Vera Bradley stuff I think of that terrible first time experience and want to vomit!!!! read more
