The management, maintenance, and community are top notch. I have lived in at least ten different rental communities in my adult life (I'm 32), and this one has exceeded all others by far. Apartments are beautiful, location is great no matter where you work due to access to Keystone and 465, and I have yet to experience a single maintenance issue that wasn't addressed within a day or two, if not hours. They keep the property immaculate at all times, and were stellar in doing so post-COVID. Underground parking, pet friendly, and within walking distance of plenty of places to eat, drink, get massages or nails done, etc. It's also just an Uber away from many other great Indianapolis attractions. The management staff (Katy, Mark, and Souheir) are all highly effective communicators who care about the residents, plan endless events, and know you by name. If I could stay here forever, I would! If you're looking for a place where you get the bang for your buck, (at the end of the day, it's not cheap), you get what you pay for, and then some, here at Ironworks!

It's a very easy place to live -- parking, nearby restaurants & gyms, office area, packages accepted when you are away, etc. The units themselves are modern & clean. Katy, Souheir, Mark & the entire team go out of their way to help & make you feel at home. Highly recommend!

**PLEASE BEWARE, THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU AT MOVEOUT**…read moreI am writing to warn other residents and prospective residents, please beware of the management company at the time of moveout. Due to our Autopay settings, we overpaid our final month's rent by approximately $2,100. We paid for the entire month of September when we were only there for three days. This money was sent by accident and should never have been debited from our bank account. My husband and I promptly requested the money be returned. It is not legal for the management company to keep money that they received by mistake. The management company has refused to return the money in full, instead charging us an exorbitant fee for carpet replacement, to which we did not consent. At the time of moveout, I acted in good faith and paid $300 to have the apartment professionally cleaned, including professional carpet cleaning. The apartment was pristine, and the carpet was in excellent condition except for two small stains (see pictures below). Therefore, I was shocked to receive a surprise bill for $726 to replace carpet. I am disputing this charge. When I contacted the office, they said that they received a quote to repair the carpet, which included $49 and $69 ($118 total) for spot dying and patching the carpet. Rather than repairing the carpet, the management company chose to replace the entire carpet as preference, charging me $726. Over $700 for two tiny stains is excessive and, I would argue, very unfair, as there is a viable option to repair the carpet for approximately $120. Yes, the company is entitled to bill us for **reasonable** repairs. At this point, the only fee which I would find acceptable is the price they were quoted to repair the carpet. The company insists that replacing, rather than repairing, the carpet is better for new residents. Let me ask the reader then, would you be happy to be receiving a surprise bill of hundreds or thousands of dollars at moveout? Would you live comfortably knowing that any tiny, accidental stain can ruin your budget and cost you the vacation or new purchase you were saving up for? For most of us, $700 is a lot of money. Even if you can pay, feeling as if you have been taken advantage of, and charged an excessive amount of money when a simple repair is all that is required, is terrible. The managers, Lauren and Nicole, had no empathy that I felt my money was taken without my consent. My only resort is to file a case with the Indiana small claims court, which I will do. My husband and I have lived in many apartments over the years, as we have moved for schooling and work. This type of exorbitant surprise bill is NOT NORMAL. I wonder how many other people have been billed this way? I wonder how many people thought they had no other option than to pay these inflated bills? I can understand if you are worried that the company will ruin your rental history if you refuse to pay. We finally were able to transition from renting to buying our first home, which is why I feel that I can stand up for myself against this company. However, the entire experience has caused us a great deal of stress and anxiety, consuming time better spent with our baby daughter. I am sharing this to warn others to hopefully save them this burden that I experienced.

Needed a place to stay in the interim until I purchased a new home. Excellent credit, provided bank statements that showed 5x the income, and tax returns. I was denied because unfortunately I took Covid serious and due to mandated shut down my salon for forced to be closed for 3 months. The whole country faced a pandemic the year before and the complex used this against me. I was told my taxes didn't reflect enough income from the prior year ( due to the salon government mandated shut down for 3 long months). Of which I still never missed a payment of my bills or the salon bills. Then I get a call about my review and was told my monthly bank statements weren't enough. I pulled all statements, again 5x the rent is what my statements read. She first told me they were blank statements, as if I turned in blank sheets of paper, not true. She then apologized by saying well we followed all protocol even during covid, maybe that was why you were denied and they follow all fair housing laws. I don't think this was the case....5x the rent, EXCELLENT credit, just followed what the government said to do and closed my business until the whole US opened back up. Like all small businesses, we took a hit but our clients were so happy to see us when the doors opened back up. But hey guess you have to find some reason to deny some people....

Carmel Center Apartments initially stood out to us because of the leasing office staff and the location, and our love for the place continued to grow from there. Lauryn, our guide during our visit, was pleasant and knowledgeable. When we moved in, Emily and the rest of the office/maintenance staff proved to be just as pleasant and willing to help out when needed. We are a family with two elementary-aged kids and two dogs. Safety, education and walkability were top on our priority list. You can't beat the location, as well as the value of this location. The apartments are located in the heart of Carmel City Center, and they're walking distance from the shops, theaters, seasonal markets, and the beloved Monon Trail. We are pleased with the school that our kids were assigned to, based on the apartment's location. They have a designated bus stop at the apartments, and we met a lovely family during pick up/drop offs. We understand that crime can happen anywhere, but the apartments were quiet and safe. We did not have issues with neighbors or anyone else in our time at Carmel Center. Six months into our lease, we were presented with an opportunity that we couldn't refuse. While we miss the apartments, we parted with so many positive memories and would recommend Carmel Center to anyone seeking a safe place, excellent location and strong school system.

It appears that the company who purchased us doesn't really care about their tenants or their property. They make the property look better by slapping on some paint re-roofing a community that was through an insurance claim and then tearing up the parking lots and roads and redoing them. Great! They also came in and added some new carpet to our hallways and paint that was back in January and never cleaned up after any of it. There's paint on the new carpet. There's trash on the new carpet. They have only vacuumed once since doing this. They never vacuumed in the stairwells. There are still carpet remnants window seals and in the stairwells. It's really sad to watch our property go from one extreme to the other. And nobody to talk to that will actually listen in the company. When they mop they leave so much water on the floor and do not post any signs whatsoever letting people know that it's wet and slippery. We have rugs at our door that continuously buckle up and fold over. We have lots of elderly people with canes and walkers. This has been brought to their attention so many times but they don't care. We also have lots of dryer vents that are completely exposed to the elements and nature. We have birds living in many of them. The ones did still have our covers on are full of lent that was addressed to them in late December after they took us over. Still hasn't been taken care of. I'm just not sure why they wanted a property like this. Oh wait yeah I know why$$$$. Welcome to the world where the rich get richer and greedier hey who knows. Maybe they'll even go on to the Titanic exploration. Anyways, if you ever consider thinking about this community, I would stop and think really hard before you do so. They will look you in the face and lie to you and not bat an eye. Carmel Center Apartments. You did us no justice by buying us. You took an amazing community and are slowly but surely destroying us.
